I have been told by my Neurologist that this drug Diltiazem cd can cause Parkinson like symptoms in a small group of people. Where can i find more info about this? ## Can somebody explain to me what the differences are between Diltiazem CD 180mg Cap(sule?) vs. Diltiazem HCL ER 180mg Cap(sule?). If I remember correctly, a pharmacist told me that the ER stood for extended release and that the CD type of the medication was quite different, but I'm not sure about that. Have been using cardizem for 7 years and would like to know if there are any long term side effects...I seem to be having some trouble cognitively and my great aunt who was on it ended up with dementia...was curious if there was any correlation between the brain and the drug. Also the buildup of fluid has been extensive even with watching the salt intake. Also taking daily ranexa, eliquis, lasix, spirivia, albuterol. I have been taking Nifedipine for a month. I have increased water and swelling in feet, and a lot of pulled muscles. I think the pills are the cause. How do I wean myself off them? My cardiologist has told me to no longer take Losarten, as i was having severe chest pain, and other side affects. I have been on this family of drugs for 14 yrs, and just gone onto the generic one. blisters are appearing on my face, and a rash has been on my nose since taking this one. My blood pressure went up yesterday so I took one overnight, to a blister on my nose today. I stopped taking nicorandil 4 days ago but am still having terrible headaches. Is this normal? ## How long were you taking it? Some side effects may linger for a few weeks, after stopping any given medication, according to NIH reports. It may also cause nausea, dizziness, and increased urination. Has there been any improvement, yet? Have you switched to a different medication?
