Does this medication also treat fatigue if it is related to a narrowing of a coronary artery? My husband's LAD has a small area of ischemia which has caused slight chest pain but he has been angina free every since his stress test which showed the above. He took one 1/2 tablet of Isosorbide min er 30 mg. as doc directed and experienced some light headedness. and decided not to take it anymore. However, though he has no symptoms of angina, he complains off fatigue. the med. opens the LAD causing more blood & oxygen to reach that heart area, so could it also help his fatigue? ## Hello, Bobby! How are you and your husband? In theory, it could, if that's what is causing his fatigue. However, it is often difficult to know what is causing such an issue. Does he take any other medi...

Hi, my mom just got her blood pressure 180/100, she took one 5mg @ 7pm then we checked her after 3 hrs but still got the same reading. She again took a 5mg. Is it OK? How long is the right interval and how long should it take effect? ## Hello, Necromex! How is she doing? These medications don't work that fast, it will take a few days before they start lowering her blood pressure and about a month, before they reach their full efficacy level in her body. So no, she can't keep taking one, checking it and then taking another. What instructions did her doctor provide with the medication?

I am taking this drug for the prevention of Angina attacks. I have a heavily blocked peripheral artery on the LAD. first of all, I seem to be having more attacks, even when resting in bed but particularly in cold weather and have to resort to sub- lingual emergency tablets. however, my main concern is that I am getting a lot of pain in my legs, both upper, calves as well as knees It mostly comes with exercise but does not go away when resting, for a long time. can this be attributed to the medication or do I need to have diagnostics done to find out what the causes are? ## Hello, Annie! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry about the difficulties that you're having. Yes, you need to be evaluated by your doctor, some of these symptoms could be indicative of a heart attack and/or wo...

My new pharmacy plan puts my Diltiazem ER 180mg XT capsule into a Tier 3 costing me $60 for a 90 day supply. A tier 1 or 2 drug is free. I would like to know if taking a free (Tier 1) 90mg Diltiazem tablet twice per day at 12hr intervals would give me the same health benefit? Is the release of the tablet medication adverse to an even release of the ER capsule? ## Hello, Derf! How are you? Yes, you should be able to do that, without a problem, you'd just take the medication twice a day,, instead of once. Of course, you need to check with your doctor, because they'll have to write a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is a dry cough one of the side effects of Diltiazem? I developed a cough on Lisinapril after a couple years, so my Dr. switched me to Diltiazem 180 mg. extended release, about a year ago. I have recently developed a dry cough, and am short of breath, especially when I lie down at night. So I prop myself up with pillows to sleep. I also cough when I try to talk too much. I've tried using my asthma inhaler, but it doesn't help. ## Hello, Grandma of 4! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. However, please consult your doctor as soon as possible. That problem breathing, when you lay down at night that requires you to prop yourself up with pillows could be a sign of congestive heart failure, so your doctor needs to check this out immediately....

Until I visited the doctor, I regularly suffer from chill blains, my fingers and toes turn white with cold, and then as they warm up, turn Blue The bright red then all pins and needles which is quite painful. She told me about Nifedipine, which opens up the blood vessels allowing free flowing blood, I thought great, I'll give it a go! She did warn me of the side effects, head aches, nausea, diz...

My doctor did kidney's and diabetic's blood test which he said was ok. About one year ago I was diagnose with diabetics but it is under control.
