I have taken Procardia XL GITS pill for 21 years. When I went on Medicare, they told me they didn't make them anymore. I am on a generic Adalat 60 mg now and have been very aware of my heartbeat ever since November 2012. I tried calling Pfizer and Mylan. They gave me no help. Does anyone know if these pills are still on the market? The pill I was taking is a round pill, medicine embedded in plastic shell with a laser-drilled hole in the center. Please help me if anyone knows where I can get them. ## Based on my research, there haven't been any verifiable claims or FDA announcements regarding the discontinuation of Procardia. So I do wonder if what they told you was even true. Often times Medicare only accepts/covers certain brands or generics, and it may just be that they don...

I started Imdur 30 mg. on Saturday 7/25/2015. Experienced a severe headache from 1:00 pm till 9:00 pm. Used lots of medications over the counter. Had the same severe headache on Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday I went to the doctor since this pain is not like a migraine because I'm a Tension Headache patient. Dr. prescribed a medication named Tancon. It is made in PR. Instructions are: 1 every 6 hours prn. It didn't help. I read instructions and it is recommending 1-2 tabs every 4 hrs, and not more then 6. It helps me. I would like to know when this headache will disappear or how long it will last? Its at its worst when there's chest pain but I know I can't quit. Thanks. ## As reported by the FDA, headaches can be a normal side effect of this medication. You may also experi...

I was just wondering how long it takes for the body to adjust. I am suffering from sore throat swollen neck glands and sinus issues. ## Hello, Liz! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. It can take about 4 to 5 weeks for your body to get used to the medication and for the side effects to taper off, before going away entirely. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, dizziness and increased urination. If there is no improvement after that time frame, you should consult your prescriber, as it may not be the right medication for you to take. Is there anything else I can help with?

Should I take Diltiazem at night 180mg as sometimes my bp is low inthe morning ## Hello, Holly! How are you? How low is it? You may need to adjust the time of day that you take, if your doctor approves, taking it earlier in the day may help prevent that. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. It is normal for it to be lower in the morning, when you first wake up, but it depends on how low. Is it causing you any symptoms, such as dizziness or nausea?

Could there be any connection? ## Hello, Tash! How are you feeling? You need to see a doctor immediately and have this checked out. While there is a chance that these symptoms are due to the medication, those can also be symptoms of a heart attack. Doctor switched my bp mess from BisoproloI to Diltiazem. I took my first dose of Diltiazem today and by this afternoon I started getting upset stomach bad headache and now very nauseous. I'm wondering if I am coming down with stomach virus or is it new med? Wondering what to do? I wouldn't think the Diltiazem would be making me sick since I just started it. ## Hello, Redbird! Are you feeling any better? It could be either/or. You may be sick, or it could be withdrawal effects from stopping the Bisoprolol and starting the new medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Are you on any other medications?

I use to take Cardizem cd 180mg. I have lots of trouble with generics. I was switched to Diltiazem hcl sa caps some time ago (mfg TEVA) and have been doing fine. When picking up my scrips today, I was given Cardia XT (mfg Watson Labs) will I notice any difference? Are the fillers similar? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? There are quite a few differences in the inactive ingredients, so if you're sensitive to them, you may experience some issues, but the only way to find out is to actually try it and see. What types of problems do you usually have with generics? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. ## Nausea, coughing, feel like coming down with flu, some brain fog. Started taking this medication 5 days ago for blockage in upper thigh, now have extreme pain in my foot how long will this painl last now that the blood is getting to my foot. Some of my toes are black as well. ## Hello, Wendy! How are you? If your toes are black, it is important that you seek medical attention immediately. That could be a sign of the tissue becoming necrotic and without prompt medical treatment, you may lose those digits. I did not remember if I had taken the above pill this morning so I took another pill -- that equals 60 MG. Did I do the right thing? I did not feel that I could do without if I had not taken it. ## This medication, which is commonly used to treat Angina, can cause some problems if you take too much, such as: dehydration, low blood pressure, rapid heart beat and trouble breathing. Thus, it is never advisable to take more than the prescribed dosage. You should really ask your doctor what they want you to do, if you think you missed a dose. Of course, it is always better to just ensure that you don't and thereby avoid the problem. Some tips that can help you make sure you don't miss a dose are: 1) Make sure you take it around the same time each day, that way it becomes habit to tak...

My dad just started taking the DiltiazemER180 MG. His heart rate has been running near 130. His doctor has told him to start taking the 240 mg. My question is if he goes to a higher dose, will that increase his heart rate more or is it possible let that it will slow it down? I'm not a doctor but I don't understand how upping the dosage will help. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. ## Hello, Rhonda! How are you? This medication has been known to cause elevated heart rate as a side effect, but most side effects are transient and wear off, as someone's body gets used to the medication. As listed by the FDA, he may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and orthostatic hypotension. Once his body adjusts, in theory his heart rate should lower, as ...

It is for my father , he is 81 yrs old . He had some chest pain . He went to the dr. He did his stress Echo . Everything came fine except the bp which was high so he gave telday 20 to him. I'm worried to see the side effects . ## Hello, Rachna! How are you? It would be far, far more dangerous to let his blood pressure continue to be uncontrolled. It is far safer and less risky for him to take the medication. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. How high was his blood pressure?

Since this dryness I keep getting sinus infections. ## Hello, Doreen! How are you? Yes, that is listed by the FDA as a possible side effect of this medication. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. If you are getting repeated infections, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take diltiazem xr and need to take sulfameth/trimethoprim is this ok ## Hello, Jo annn! How are you? Is your doctor aware that you have been prescribed both? The antibiotic could actually increase the efficacy of the Diltiazem, causing your blood pressure and heart rate to be a bit lower than normal. It isn't that they can't be taken together, but your doctor needs to know you're taking both and they should be monitoring you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

I started taking isosorbide man er 30 mg on a Sunday, I developed what I thought was a bad bug really high fever and diarrhea. I got a little better. I even called the Dr. He said discontinue for one day and see if there was a difference. I did and didn't notice any . I got better and then about 4 days later developed severe abdominal pain and fever again. I'm being treated for diverticulitis, but waiting for a CT to confirm this. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen??? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Those symptoms are listed by the FDA as possible side effects of this medication, however, they could also be from Diverticulitis. Other possible side effects may include changes in vision, earache, sweating, bleeding gums and jaw pain. Have you had your CT, yet?

I have been taking 10mg twice daily for 25 years. My new G.P. has now raised it to 30 mg.once daily after only two high b.p readings. I started with 30 yesterday morning and have felt unwell all day. Also awful headache that I cannot get rid of. I am concerned how long is this going to continue as I have several other health problems. Thanking you. ## Hello, Jane! How are you? All medications carry the risk of causing side effects and it would be normal to experience them again, when the dosage is raised. The FDA lists the ones you've mentioned as being typical for this medication, which contains Nifedipine. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension. It may take 4 to 5 weeks, for the side effects to taper off and go away. If they do not, then you...
