What is this pill for. 1/2 blue and 1/2 light blue with Mylan 6050 on it. ## I haven't found an exact match for this pill, but many other Mylan capsules have come very close to your description; leading me to think that the numbers "6050" might be off. Is there any way you can confirm this? If not, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer (Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc.) directly on mylan.com to see which of their products this might be. I been sick since Sunday night, Monday at work I broke out in fevers and my right tonsil swelled up quickly. Tuesday I went to the doctors and she told me its a bacterial infection and prescribed me cephalexin 500mg and they gave me a shot of antibiotics I don't know.which kind, Wednesday I return because it gotten worse I got another shot and got prescribed this medicine and some steroids to bring down the swelling, so far no change in anything. I haven't eaten anything in 4 days my urine smells of pure medicine it hurts to swallow and I'm really considering going to the ER. Would this medicine work? Cephalexin 500mg caps nov didn't upset my stomach the way apo cephalexin 500mg (orange tablet) does. What is difference and are both as effective? ## They are the same medication, in the same dosage, just manufactured by different companies, so they are both equally effective. This is an antibiotic good for getting rid of mucus, leading to a chronic cough. It has been successful several times for me and saved me a doctor's vi$it. If you're only taking 1 pill, you may want to take some additional precautions to get rid of the infection indefinitely. One cheap but effective option is clove essential oil. I am 80 years old. My Urologist has asked me to take a 500 gm Sporidex everyday of my life due to my e coli condition. Can Tenkorex be used to treat persistant Bacterial Vaginosis? ## The answer to your question though is no, Bacterial Vaginosis has to be treated with medication with anaerobic coverage and Tenkorex (Cephalexin) doesn't have any. In that regard, it may make it worse by killing the good normal flora, causing the bad bacteria already there to over run your vagina. "Two different antibiotics are generally recommended as treatment for BV: metronidazole or clindamycin. Either can be used with non-pregnant or pregnant women, but the recommended dosages differ."
