The day after I take my 6 2.5mg methotrexate tablets I always have enough stomach upset to make me spend an hour or so doing absolutely nothing but sit still. Are there any suggestions about what foods might help counteract this reaction? Are there any suggestions about changing the day (once a week) that I take my pills so that I could take them the day prior to a day with less physical activity? ## Hello, LeTigre! How are you? In many cases, crackers or bread can help reduce the nausea and stomach pain, as long as they aren't contraindicated with the given medication. Changing the day should be fine, unless your doctor has some reason for you not to do so. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including back pain, blurred vision, headache and cough. Is there anythin...

What is this drug used for exactly. I take 6 of these at one time. once a week. They were prescribed by ma RA doctor. But did not really inform me exactly what they are to do for me I am going on my 4th week this week of taking 6 more? Just kind of curious as what they are doing for me Thank you ## Methotrexate is used to treat inflammatory types of arthritis, as well as other medical conditions. According to the FDA. It has been shown to be very effective for treating RA. Its typical side effects may possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and blurred vision. The hope is that over time, it will reduce the inflammation to help your condition. Is there anything else I can help with?

I found this pill in my son's room. it is a small round pill with a capital T on one side and 25 on the other. ## A white round pill imprinted with T 25 is identified as Tarceva (25 mg). However, I cannot locate a photo of the pill to confirm whether or not the "T" and "25" are on the same side of the tablet, so this may not be 100% accurate in that regard. Tarceva (Erlotinib) is prescribed for treatment of non-small cell lung cancer; pancreatic cancer; and renal cell carcinoma. After looking at other similar Tarceva pill images with different imprints (such as T 20), I can see that the imprints of "those pills" are both on the same side of the pill, which gives me a hunch that this may not be your pill. At this point, it's good to narrow down possible re...

I'm taking salazopyrin (5 x 500mg per day) and also metatrexate (20mg once weekly) for psoratic artritis, I've had a bad flair up can I take melfen 400mg with my normal meds ## Hello, Emma! How are you? No, both the Melfen and Salazopyrin are anti-inflammatories, so you shouldn't double up, unless your doctor specifically says that it is okay for you to do so. As reported by the U.S. FDA, both can cause increased risks of bleeding and stomach ulceration. How often do you experience a bad flare up?

Dr. prescribed Megestrol 40mg twice daily to surpress my period (they are really heavy due to uterine polyps--haven't s heded removal yet). I had diarrhea every day for a week and trouble sleeping. Stopped taking the Megestrol because of the side effects. Has anyone else experienced this and did it eventually stop or do you just live with it? Not sure which is the lesser of two evils. ## Most side effects are transient and usually go away in about 4 to 5 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication, as reported by the NIH. When taking this medication, you may also experience nausea, headache and spotting. If it gets severe, you should inform your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Recently had chemo and then breast removed from 2 spots on breast and in 2 lymph nodes under right arm now fix s tart 6 -8 radiation and herceptin 1 xmonthe for 12 months could cancer spread ## Yes, there is always a risk of cancer spreading, or of developing new cancer. The best thing to do is to follow your doctor's instructions for further treatment to help prevent it from spreading. The FDA does warn that you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight loss and hair loss. Have you started treatment, yet?

Hello, I am new to this forum and pleased to meet you all. My partner, a 27-year old man is being treated with Crizotinib since September 2012. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Anaplastic T cells Lymphoma ALK+. After chemo we decided to continue his treatment with Crizotinib (on a clinical trial) rather than following the standard path of autologous stem cell transplant. He has never suspended the treatment apart from short periods (10 days) when his blood work showed he needed to (low white cells). He has been on complete remission since (he actually had a negative CT scan also before starting but his PCR/NPM-ALK from peripheral blood was positive suggesting the illness was still present in the blood and a high chance of relapse). Being a fairly young couple we have been wondering abo...

I have been in remission for three years during my last dr. apt. I was told I my blood test came back a little anemic but not to worry and continue treatment wiht 400 mg. Gleevec daily, any one else run into this ## Gleevec can cause anemia, in some people that use it, but there is generally no reason to worry, unless it becomes severe. Did your doctor tell you the specific level? You also may want to ask why type of test they did, as the visual ones that just look at the color of the blood aren't the most accurate, because colors are a matter of perception. ## Hi. I have been on Glivec (as gleevec is called in UK) for 11 years for CML. My blood results indicate the lowest measurable amount of nasty white blood cells (0.002%, which must mean that there are billions of them floating ...

h86 - is it a serious product? Is this a product on the market? Is it safe? ## There are actually a number of related discussion threads here on this topic that I would encourage you to have a look at. I posted a couple links below: Discuss/h-86-cancer-cure-250866.htm Discuss/H86-cancer-cure-252776.htm To sum up my own investigation, the company (Health Science Institute) who promotes H86 is thought to be a scam. H86 appears to be their trademark name for fermented wheat germ extract. And while I don't feel that Health Science Institute has a good reputation, fermented wheat germ extract itself is generally regarded as safe and has demonstrated positive feedback in studies. One of the known brands that is available online goes by the name "Avemar". You can read more about Av...

i have just started sweating profusely at night ,3 nights running .Is there a reason for this? ## I had heart bypass surgery 22 years ago and am fine now. I have benign prostrate cancer and take a tablet for that. Apart from this I am quite healthy, a little overweight, but I am able to do jobs around the house and I still do Antique hunting and keep busy. Can you help me? ## As listed by the NIH, it could be a side effect of many medications. What drug do you take? It could also be due to natural hormonal changes, as you age. Men can go through such things, just like women. How old are you? Has anything else changed, such as your diet, activity levels or etc.?

My mom was recently (two weeks ago) put on Jakafi, 10 mg twice daily. Her red blood cells went from 10.5 to 9.9...something like that. I am concerned it's the jakafi as i know that was something we were told to possibly expect. Just wondering if anyone has been on this long term (from the study) or even short term and how they are feeling? ## My dad went on the drug December 20,2011. All levels are dropping, but he feels so much better. Eating great, less night sweats and more energy. Transfusions have increased and the cost per month is outrageous. ## Yes, these types of side effects are listed as being very common when using this medication, which contains Ruxolitinib as the active ingredient. Some other side effects may include dizziness, hematoma, weight gain and herpes zoster. ...

Need a central/eastern NC doctor willing to prescribe pain medications. I am taking methotrexate and have been told multiple times not to take otc medications such as ibuprofen and Tylenol and referred by the specialist to my PCP for medications. A lot won't even help my joint pain. Can I take bosulif with dinner instead of breakfast? I have been taking 500 mg. For about2 months. I have stomach pain and nausea all morning every day and have vomited several times. I am having a hard time at work. ## Hello, Tracy! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the side effects you're experiencing. According to the information website, it doesn't have to be taken at any specific time of day, just once daily, with food, so that should be fine, if your doctor approves. I would like to know if anyone is on this med and if it working and how are the side effects? Thank you very much ## Hello, Pale Rider! How are you? I'm hoping someone that's been on it will chime in for you soon… As to the side effects from the FDA report, they may possibly include nausea, stomach pain, bleeding gums, nervousness, feeling cold, hearing loss, indigestion and loss of appetite. Can anyone that's been on this medication post about their experience? ## I found out that Nexavar does work very well in most people, side effects rash seems to be the most reported. From light to severe. But that also indicates that the medication is working on shrinking the tumor.
