my son s both had terrible hallucinations on visteral..i ha dto hold them down as tehy were coming off it. both were given it from the detist as a sedative for oral surgery ..at first my son ws seeing cute fluffy lions in his hand sand petting them..then he was screaming in terror as his window blinds seemed to open and close in his view, and demonic creatures were tormenting him

Please hang in there, buddy. You should start feeling better after a few weeks or so. I was taking benzos 3 times a day for about 15 years or so. The doctor failed to mention the possible addictive nature of this medicine. I was given klonopin to wean off the Xanax, with no luck. Weaning off with generic VALIUM, and a slow enough taper, about a month, finally freed me from the Xanax. Just NEVER give up the fight until its finally over, and you are finally free.

I have been an addict since I was about 25 ys old. I use alldrugs but opiates are my favorite. I suffer from anxiety and ptsd along with being bi polar. And trying to be clean is a very stressful. My anxiety is through the roof. I have sleeapnea also.

I don't know...I have been on Vistaril for several years, based on PTSD (police ofc. 28 years, seeing things NO ONE should ever see)...I also take Effexor, Trazedone, Metoprolol, Lithium, Seroquel...nice cocktail huh? All for diagnosed PTSD, severe depression and anxiety. I had the mother of all panic attacks last year and spent three days in the hospital. I have been under psychiatric care for more than 5 years, physicians care for over 20 years. At the time of the panic attack, I had lost medical coverage and mandatory meds for a few months, so it was mostly a withdrawal thing, having to make what I had left stretch. I have been on clonazepam, but am off that now. I also have gradually decreased the Seroquel to almost nothing, as I don't seem to need it. ANyway, I have not had ANY of the symptoms occur with hydroxyzene/vistaril, and I am very glad I have not, based on what I have read here. I guess I just wanted to add my experience, and help someone if I can. Any comments or feedback is welcome.

Hi i was just recently prescribed vistaril for anxiety and sleep, i was on trazadone but didnt like the heavy feeling i got in my chest including feeling like im breathing through a cottonball. Wierd explanation i know but thats as close as i can get to the feeling. Anyways I know vistaril is a antihistamine and im the type of person that takes benedryl and gets hyper. I explained that to my doctor but didnt change anything. Anyone out there that could shed some light on this or mabey has the same reaction.

I am precribed saboxone.2 daily.16mg.I also prescribed vistaril.25 mg.It doesnt work 4 my anxiety at all !

Some people can be sensitive to vistaril I know my mother takes em and feels the same way for me they do the opposite. Its really not unlikely to feel a bit off ecspecially with other medications.

Hi my husband was prescribed vistaril 50mg 3 times a day 3 weeks ago for anxiety and I have noticed that everytime he tskes it he has a panic attack. It is not working for him at all. It made his symptoms worse

I wa prescribed 25mg if Hydroxyzine Pamoate (Vistaril) and I had the same question so I used one capsule about 15 min ago and I feel fantastic. It's a mix between a head rush and a body high. Quite hard to explain really,except my heart is pounding a little harder than normal. And this is all from one cap,personally I wouldn't do more than one for fear of an od. But with one I feel perfectly fine.

I am curre4ntly taking vistaril for anxiety and to make me go to sleep at night but the medicine started off doing good but know a days when i take it. It dont do nothing for my anxiety o make me go to sleep so i decided to increase my meds up one pill it was working good but it dont do nothing for me nomore what should i do.

I am a addict. I don't like to say I'm a opioid addict, heroin was my "drug" of choice. But i call myself a human trash can. I will take as much of anything if it means i will feel anything but normal. Ive been clean since june 20th, well not clean off opioids. I broke down and went to my dr. They diagnosed me with severe depression, anxiety, and ocd dissorder. The dr knows of my past and perscribed me this and zoloft.i hope they work.all these people say get off the methadone. I feel methadone is an angle for opioid addicts. It makes u not crave any type of drug. Like ur a normal person. At times i wish i went to the methadone cilinic i still do. The addict in me is killing me. I hope these meds help!! To answer your question before i became an opioid addict i never knew what anxiety or panic attacks where. After being dope sick i found out what anxiety ment. I had a panic attack so bad yesterday i was vomiting and couldnt breathe.

Methadone is one of the most studied drugs out there and the bones/teeth thing as a direct result of taking methadone is simply not true. Many addicts don't take proper care of themselves and a lot of times body deterioration comes from that, not from the methadone.
However yes, the withdrawal from it sucks incredibly and seems to last forever (over 2 months for me). I was on it for 5 years. That was about ten years ago and I am healthy as can be now, and I have all my teeth too :)
