i was wondering if Vistaril can make you feel a little bit off, such as euphoric or high?

How much is too much? I want to be high, but don't have anything else. I'm about to pull my hair out. If you're a drug addict, you know what it's like. I don't want to overdose, but I want to feel.. "not normal"

I get hyper, but calm too...like a goofy hyper....like laid back and giggly...and you might start a conversation like..."what if unicorns had scented farts, then we could market farts as perfume and then get rich, and when we get rich we can buy a awesome giant tv....." Then you sleep for a bit.

Funny cause I've been on methadone for almost 3 years (I just turned 23 2 weeks ago) and I've had nothing but problems since I've been on it, I'm also on the liquid witch is a lot more potent and does ALOT more damage, in the 3 years I've been on it all of my teeth have broken off and rotted, my teeth were not anything like this before I started the crap! My bones are brittle has hell! And my legs are so swollen I can barely move! It's made my fibromyalgia and back problems 10x worse and now I have to have surgery to fix it! Methadone sucks! By the way I was prescribed Vistril yesterday and wanted to see what other people thought about it. And I have gone down from 100mgs of methadone to 45mgs since last February and I'm starting to feel better, other than waking up from being dope sick anyway!

Well, for starters, Vistaril is addictive so you never take it on a schedule to prevent something from happening, you only take it when the panic attacks happen. I take this for depression attacks (Basically a panic attack), but my psychiatrist has me on 50 mgs when I need it. I normally wind up taking one every week or so. Secondly, overdosing or snorting Vistaril can cause you to feel nice for about four minutes, but that's only because your body has yet to register the danger and reject it. After that wears off, you become extremely weak and nauseous, then your core temperature rises to around 112 degrees Fahrenheit, and your internal organs begin to shut down so there is less of a chance of permanent damage to them, but since you're still awake and trying to cool off, you begin to salivate in the form of white foam, then you fall back and your eyes roll back in your head, finally you begin to have a violent seizure. People have often broken their backs due to the intensity of the seizure, or even just the fall. The overdose can also cause internal bleeding and/or kidney failure. Occasionally, snorting it may cause you to go into cardiac arrest, like many drugs. (A scene in the movie Pulp Fiction has dramatized this phenomenon, if you would like something to refer to) No matter what, you have a 90% chance of dying a violent, painful death lasting around four hours. The FDA considered banning this drug due to it's violent nature and addiction tendencies. If you somehow manage to make it to the hospital, you will have permanent brain damage and be sent to a mental hospital for a suicide attempt if you are not over eighteen. If you are over eighteen, you will be sent to jail for the suicide attempt, since that is illegal in most states and provinces. This doesn't even sum up the consequences, but it gives you a mediocre explanation as to why that's a bad idea. I suggest you only take the amount recommended when it's necessary, as in only when you have tried to calm yourself down during some form of attack and failed, you have had an allergic reaction and can't get to the hospital in time, or if your doctor tells you to for another valid reason. I don't mean to lecture anyone or be a stick in the mud, I just don't want anyone ruining their lives and their families' lives.

I've been prescribed 100mg of Vistaril twice a day with 50mg of Methadone once a day without any problems (and 20mg of Paxil, if that matters at all). You should be fine. If you choose to take Methadone, that's up to you. You're asking if you can take Vistaril with it safely, not if someone else is pro-methadone usage or not. So, in answering your actual question, YES, that should be fine. Just make sure your doctor knows everything that you're taking before he/she writes you a prescription for anything else, of course.

The reason someone gets anxiety aftera hysterectomy is because you don't have any estrogen. It throws you into menapause and a hot flash is precipitated by the feeling of a panic attack...like a rollercoaster ride. See if you can get ormone replacement therapy.

I used to say take a Xanax to calm down but I will never put another Xanax in my mouth again bc I had surgery and was on different meds and my dr put me on Xanax bc my antixey was making my pain worse and after I ran out of the one Rx she gave me I started withdrawing so I recommend after ur withdraws r over with is would consider a different med! Bc the experience I went through with the Xanax not reacting well with the meds after my surgery I would say it's for sure a scary thing to go through

LOL ---I was thinking the EXACT same thing!! ...I commend her for living her life to the fullest and not caring so much what people think, but it can get you in trouble if you totally disregard what other people think! I for one find it very dangerous for an adult to spend so much time with children and to play in a treehouse with a bunch of kids!!--it only takes one person to suggest something off-color to start a rumor involving molestation, so ''Shesadevil'' you better be a little bit more careful with your carefree life, or you could be living it up behind bars!

I am so sorry to hear about your child, they are in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. Please let me know how he or she is doing!! I went through a phase in my life where I had this horrible compulsion where I felt like I just had to have a buzz constantly. I once took a bunch of Benadryl, which is very similar to Vistaril, and scared my Mom half to death! First I started slurring my words, then my words no longer made sense, for instance, I would say something like ''my ear felt cantaloupe fever, the body needs the party for the money'' then I started doing the most outrageous strangest things, like taking things out of the fridge and trying to cram it up the fire place!! ...My Mom got me to lay down for a while, and was just about to call 9-11, when I finally started to come to..

Sadly, that strange trip wasn't enough to stop my drug use, and about six months later I overdosed. I went into multi-organ failure. My Liver, Kidneys, pancreas, and other organs just couldn't take all the abuse and just shut down. My brain began to swell and I slipped into a coma and was on life support for 2 months, I wasn't expected to survive and the doctors basically told my Mother to prepare to make arrangements for me .. I was a healthy 195 lb man the day I overdosed, but the day I woke up from the coma 2 months later I was a horrific, skeletal 110 lbs.I had wasted away 85 lbs in 2 months while in the coma!! I had to learn how to walk all over again, and endured months of physical and occupational therapy. It has been a year and a half since that dreadful day I overdosed. I have gained 33 lbs, and am now 143 lbs (52 lbs lighter than I was before the overdose, and oddly enough look better than I have ever in my life!) and by the grace of God have made a full recovery!! Doctors thought for sure I would have permanent damage to my organs, especially my liver and kidneys, but tests show they too have recovered 100%!! Most people wouldn't have survived what I went through, and for some reason God gave me another chance. After I was released from the hospital, I checked myself into a in-patient rehab in Upstate New York. I knew if I wanted to live I needed to get out of the city (Manhattan) and to a place I couldn't just check-out when I got sick and tired of it.I had been to a couple of detoxes and rehabs in the past, but always left as soon as I got tired of being there, so I needed to find a place far enough away that I couldn't just leave. I found this place in Carmel,NY called ''Arm's Acres". To be completely honest with you, I absolutely HATED it! But I recommend it to anyone that has a problem, or a loved one with a problem because that place (along with the Out-Patient program I attended for 6 months there after, ''The Resource Center'' in Brooklyn, NY) saved my life!!! Arms acres has a very structured setting, with many mandatory therapeutic groups throughout the day.They wake you up at 5:30am and make you make your bed and shower before breakfast. They do have some amenities, like an in-door swimming pool, weight-room, acupuncture, and meditation. They also offer equine therapy --which I found very therapeutic!!! ...So, if your child needs drug rehab after recovering from this vistaril overdose, I HIGHLY recommend ''Arm's Acres''. No matter where you live in the country (The farther away, the better!! That way they can't check themselves out and have a friend come get them if they get tired of being there!) This place is TRULY a gem!!! Here is their website:

Because I am sure you have never done anything stupid, or something you regretted. It's called being human --making mistakes, and although I admit and agree that it was pretty stupid, posting the comment you posted wasn't necessary, it was rude, heartless, and showed total lack of empathy. I was sharing that story because I felt for the woman whose child overdosed, and thought she might benefit from hearing my story. I didn't post it for cold-hearted sociopaths like you to make ignorant and immature comments about it. Grow up, and think how you would feel if it happened to someone close to you before you start being so hateful.

The first time I took it for plan c attacks it was a life saver! It did make me giggle a bit, but only that first time, I wouldn't call it a high. I did feel some heart palpations when taking it, but i believe that to actually be part of my anxiety tword taking the new drug. I was given it to take as needed until my Prozac came in the mail and started to kick in. I still use it at night before bed to help me sleep if needed. I would not recommend using it during the day, especially if you plan on driving...even if you feel awake trust me you should not drive! Don't let that scare you though, its safe and not as strong as Trazodone.
