i was wondering if Vistaril can make you feel a little bit off, such as euphoric or high?

Vistaril contains the active ingredient Hydroxyzine, it is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergic reactions and, sometimes, for its sedative like effects.

It will not get someone high, it's normal side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and impaired coordination.

You asked about Vistaril. I can tell you my grown child was rushed to the ER with a horrible red, itchy rash and hallucinations due to overdosing on Vistaril. We are not sure if they will recover without brain damage. So...NO do NOT experiment with this medication. If it is prescribed for you - take it in the proper dosage. If it is not prescribed - don't mess around with it! It is not worth it.

Don't be an idiot. I was given Vistaril recently and accidentally ate way more than I should have. It took three days for me to begin to feel "normal" again. During those three days I attempted to enter my neighbors house, slept up to 20 hours a day, had heart palpatations, retained water, etc. Not every single pill you're given is for super happy fun time. Grow up.

No, vistaril enhances the effects of opiates. As far as getting high off vistiral by itself you may feel sedated for awhile but no real high and yes you will sleep a loooooooong time.

Please don't mix anything more than Tylenol with methadone. Methadone is so potent. ESP 80 mg. Plz talk to ur doctor about getting something else for your passion. I promise methadone isn't worth it. It deteriorats ur bones and teeth. And the withdrawals from it is worse than I could explain. And could last for months. Please!! Get of the methadone!

You eat too many by "accident" and ur telling others not to be an idiot??? It tells you on the f'ing bottle how many pills to take and how often to take them!!!

I like what dave #10 had to say!! but some people do take more than what it says on the bottle, like myself! when you have taken the same medicine for years your body gets immune to it so you have to take more to get any relief! I also take methadone 3 10mg a day for cuz I broke my back an have lots of metal in it! An have been taking it for 10+ yrs! Was one tablet every 12 hrs it wasnt working as well so I started taking 2 an few years later same thing now I take 3 every 12 hrs an Like advil I take 6 at a time one will not even do anything! I know so dont say it! it can cause stomach to bleed at any time! they say just everything can do this or that! An this or that causes cancer an this thing can cause that an this will kill u if u do that! Well we all need to quit worrying! An u won't need any anxiety medicine Do what makes u happy take what u need to feel better so u can do what makes you happy! An f*** the rest of them for judging you! live your life for yourself and don't worry about what other will people say r think! Cuz no matter what you do there will always be someone there to judge u! that's just the way people are! so that's why I live my life to be happy and to do what makes me happy and my kids happy! I never ever worry what someone will say or think about me! an belive me I have a good reason I should! I live in a tiny town of 200+ population an im from a prominent family! But Im never going to worry about them! I barely have any gray hair and when people try and guess my age they are off by 15 years! remember when you were a kid? how often were u stressed out? wernt you happier than? and you didn't need any anxiety medicine then either did u? So the only person you need to ask is a pharmacist how much is ok an what is ok to take it with because people here could tell you the wrong answer! oh this is to the person that said to grow up! my advice to him or her is... grow down! never grow up!

I have just started vistrail. My question is will this medication make u feel as good as xanax does... The doc took me off xanax and i havent been the same.. the withdralws have been just absoult horrid email me with any comments {edited for privacy}

I currently am supposed to be taking 25 milligrams of vistaril 4x a day, but I feel horrible when I take it. It makes me dizzy and horrible chest pain. The doctor said it would help my panic attacks but it has not done that at all. I go back to the doctor and I am going to tell them to shove the medicine up their ass.

I'm not an addict but started experiencing panic attacks after I had a hysterectomy and they are trying this medicine and it doesn't work for me. I am a nurse and by seeing many patients medicine works different for everyone. This medicine is horrible for me.

I am a nurse and I have dealt with many people that are addicts. The best thing for you to do is get a doctor to prescribe you Neurontin which will lessen the symptoms of coming off narcotics. Gradually decrease what you are taking daily. It could take months to get off everything but when you do you will feel much better. If you go to a detox many facilities take you off and give you different meds to help but when you come off the real world the temptation is back. I have heard from many patients that the Neurontin has been a life saver. Hope this helps and if you have more questions please feel free to ask and if I don't know the answer I will get it for you.

The doctor is lying to you. Benadryl doesn't help panic attacks, and even in the 80's when that was done it was done out of ignorant desperation. Fire that doctor, report that they 'promote' abusing antihistamines for panic disorders over quality medications like alprazolam, lorazepam, clonazepam, etc.... and make sure you grade him several times so that his 4 stars go down to 1. You need to take aim at this doctor and make sure they are penalized at least by you in a legal manner if not by their sick lack of a conscience. My suggestion is if the alprazolam worked, stick to a small amount. Don't listen to some of these doctors.

Actually my bottle just says take 1 tablet 4 times a day for itchiness doesn't say how far apart to take them or anything so I could see taking 1 then taking another an hour or 2 later if he/she is still itchy. As long as the 4 pills are taken in one day he/she may have thought that's how it's done.

After coming off high doses of kpin and shaking for a month and a half straight my doctor finally gave me trazadone. It didn't seem to help at first. Finding the right dose, and taking it for anxiety during the day and sleep at night has helped tremendously!! This is one med that I would recommend for anybody!! Coming off benzos is extremely hard and this pill has helped so much. I also combined it with clonidine for anxiety and high bp. The two together ate great!!

Neurontin or gabapentin does not help with detox or withdrawal. I have been an addict for a long time. Clonidine patches work the best! Almost no symptoms of detox with the patch. Also, combining it with zofran for helps. It takes away the nausea. I think the only people that truly understand are the people that have been an addict before.cteading a book to tell you what helps doesn't make a difference. You can't possibly understand detox unless you have been through it, same for being an addict.

When I was a child I would notice how my drinks would taste different I found out that my mother was drugging me with vistrals ever since I was 8 she would throw about 3 adult capsules in my drink before she would go out with her boyfriend and now I have kidney problems is there anything I can do

To shesadevil, I so wish I had the same mind frame as you. I also have unpaid bills and had to sell my car and my anxiety is so rough. The doc. would only give me virstaril and it doesn't help.. My mom is on methadones also for 10+ years and they help back pain also. I just wish I could think like you and not worry... #I love what you posted :)
