Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 8) (Top voted first)

Updated

Just got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

Thanks for the info. Im going to present that to the pharmacist at Wallgreens. i am suppose to pick up a script for Actavis today. i mad sure before they filled it that it was the Actavis and the tech said it was approved by LA Care Medicaid. That may change, Nothing surprises me anymore. Before they ring it up, i want to see that Bottle. Otherwise I want that script back and I will go to the independent pharmacy and check on the Alvogen. Who know, maybe thats not approved. I did present the details about the Camber last week to the insurance company. I will let you know what happens. I just got myself calmed down. Glad you told me though. We have to look out for each other.

I spelled my post wrong. Walgreens said they would not get the actavis 10/325 Percocet ( generic) nor could they order it because it's not available to order. Im so sick of rude people when I've been a customer there every month for 12 years. I'm on the duragisic pain patch as well and I too can not go through these awful side effects again from Camber. I will not fill Rhodes e at again as well. Told her about my side effects. She didn't care. Well I don't care about Walgreens anymore. Changing pharmacies. I did hear someone in the background say " so and so had it. Gonna try that " mom and pop" or go down to hydrocodone 10/ 325. At least i eill get breakthrough relief a lityle compare to these camber posion pills. Kerp in touch

Thank you for staying on top of this. I'm so very sick and getting very dehydrated from throwing up every time these posion pills from Camber hit my stomach. I'm gonna write several top people at Walgreens. I found the person that's over the supply for chains. When I find a few minutes tomorrow of feeling ok u best believe I'm gonna write the same letter and send it to each corporate person at the highest level. I will do anything to help us from suffering. We have to keep making noise at the top people at Walgreens head quarters. It's the only way they will get decent brands back. I have a bit of leverage because made a huge mistake on my medicine bottle last June. I let it go but it falls under "pharmacy malpractice" I have until June to peruse it. I best not put it on here but u best believe I'm putting it in my letter. A pharmacist made a huge mistake with an important medication for me last summer.

I am in the same boat with being switched from Actavis to Camber generic percocet/apap 5/325. I have the nausea, headaches and my pain is not any better. I spoke to a pharmacist at Walgreen's and she compared the inactive ingredients of both for me. She said there's a blue dye called "Blue #1" in the Camber brand. I was wary of her telling me that it shouldn't make a difference at all. I did some research and found out it can cause a lot of bad side effects, including headache and nausea! As well as anxiety and nervousness. It's used in a lot of foods as well, but I figure most people don't go around eating blue food (aside from the occasional bite of candy). Supposedly many people are sensitive to it and don't even know. Some countries are required to put a warning label on products containing it. There is also an ingredient called "Crospovidone" which is added to aid in the absorption of the active ingredient by speeding up disintegration. Of course, some brands may add more or less... Either they are absorbing too quickly or barely at all. That with the added side effects of the dye completes the effect of feeling like total garbage on these things. It's really unfortunate:/ At first I missed Watson, now I actually miss Actavis!!

I guess both providon and crosprodone ar formaldehyde. If there is too much causing poisoning, I read the side effects and they match the problems we have. I can remember all of them but fast heartbeat, short of breath, low blood pressure (mine was way low at the pcp last monday), rash, headache, etc. What scared me too was burning in the esophagus and stomach. After being on the Actavis 9 days, I still had non stop burning in the stomach, acid reflux. This is why i got suspicious about the Actavis but that may not be the problem. I was so desperate, I started prilosec 2 days ago and my stomach feels better today. I explained this to the doctor and she just said give it more time. This is why I practice medicine myself. I had to demand an ekg. Fortunately that was ok. I just hope there is no permanent damage. Taking off for a bit. Talk to you later.

Here's the link to Crospovidone wikipedia:

A lot of so-called inert ingredients are harmful, the FDA knows it and looks the other way numerous times. They'll usually claim the amount is so small that it's irrelevant, but then a lot of these ingredients are showing up in autopsies, so how irrelevant is that? The FDA is just another part of the enormous government swamp... You take anything for a long period of time and these so-called irrelevant ingredients become very relevant!

Endo pharma makes the T194 for Camber. The Mallinckrodt brand, Walmart has them sometimes. I switched yesterday to them from the T194 but they have the naloxone/oxycodone in them. They all do. Methadone, suboxone, all brands, all opioid products. I have hives, fast heart rate, upset stomach, ect. Went to my Dr. today and told him what was going on. He said OH it cant be the naloxone doing this to you, your body doesn't absorb naloxone, that's just there if you administer it intravenously. BS. They make a nasal spray if you od. Just spray it in your nose and it's absorbed and reverses the opioids effect, and when you feel like you are in withdrawals, you are, because the oxycodone you pay for is now gone. The naloxone took it out. Naloxone reverses the effects of the opioids and they become worthless. If you kill the effects and reverse the action of opioids, they wont stop pain. The opioid pain business is a Trillion dollar a year business and the pharma companies aren't going to give it up, so they sold this BS to the government and told them it would work. You cant stop pain without OPIOIDS and it doesn't stop pain.

Re: Lildarlin (# 120) Expand Referenced Message

Oh my dear so sorry you are a victim as well. With me, although Camber has been the worst so far, all generics have been giving me the same symptoms as well for almost a year now. You must (as well as I’m going to have my next appt in 2 days), insist on either the pure oxycodone & add my own Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin (advil) as another friend on this site recommended. It's the only way to get rid of these killer fillers altogether. You must speak up without fear to your doctor. If we all do this perhaps in the med world the enormous complaints will be circulated amongst them to react to OUR EPIDEMIC of horrible side effects. Hope this helped. I’ll keep all posted.

Omg thank you! For 3 weeks now on this Camber brand I've had this itch mostly in my lumbar & mid back area! So weird! Also had the same experience with endocet high grade generic month before. NEVER experienced this; I’ve been monitoring each month with each new generic I’ve tried in only the last 6-8 months with bizzarre side effects I’ve never had as a 10 year coached/monitored “veteran” of pain mgmt treatment, ANY NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS, only positive ones. After years of surgeries, procedures & was in a wheelchair I was finally diagnosed by each doctor/specialist literally country-wide with “FBS” (Failed Back Syndrome - meaning “nothing more we can do”) & referred me to the world of STUDIED, RESEARCHED, TESTED Opiate Pain Mgmt (like a guinea pig for it as I was told I’d never barely walk again due to intolerable pain having almost every spine/disc degenerating, debilitating disease)! Let me tell ya since then I’m walking, living a balanced, comfortable life, & despite my disability for me it’s all about “mind over matter”. UNTIL NOW. THESE PAST FEW MONTHS WITH THIS OPIOID CRISIS WE ARE NOW THE VICTIMS OF with these new generics adding fillers & lessening strengths, etc. I really think we are being poisoned! Yes, I too can clock the rash; it takes 15min to happen after dosing. My face starts burning, nausea, extreme fatigue, etc. I’ve discussed this w/ my primary, pain mgmt docs & my pharmacist. They agree this is not a tolerance issue... It's the filler’s, i.e. crospovidone & povidone which are formaldehyde. Also naloxone as well. Research all of this. You’ll feel better knowing u r not alone. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE STRENGTH YOU GIVE ME ON THIS SITE!

Well, I was wrong.

Last month my rx of 5/325 “Percocet” was the first time I received Camber from Walgreens (having always gotten Actavis before). As I noted in an earlier post, I thought the only unusual aspect about it was a plastic smell.

The good news is that this months rx was back to Actavis, without me mentioning anything. And holy cow is there a notable difference in the level and length of pain relief from Actavis. I hope those of you with Camber get switched back ASAP.

I should note that my dosage is 1.5 to 2 pills in the evening for my degenerative discs so I can be productive after work and actually sleep. So, not a very large dose, and with a bit of time between doses (I’m always in pain but have resisted increasing my dose or going to extended release because I’m still fairly young. But as most of you know, constant pain is such a psychological drag). I’m wondering if because of this, I don’t have enough of the ‘filler’ in me from Camber to add to the side effects, and I don’t take enough to experience withdrawals (if that’s what is happening).

Anyway, good luck to everyone.

Re: MeJane (# 160) Expand Referenced Message

I agree, there is major collusion going on between the FDA/CDC and big Pharma. I do believe they are adding naloxone to most opioid medications, without properly listing them. I also believe they are tweaking some of the inactive ingredients (povidones, PVP(crospovidone), croscarmellose sodium) which are all polymers. Slight tweaks in these ingredients can completely change the molecular structure of them resulting in adverse affects (creating a clandestine form of "opioid antabuse" per se).

As far as legal recourse, going up against the FDA and big pharma is nearly impossible without a concerted effort by patients/pharmacists/independent labs/lawyers. One of which, unfortunately, no law firm is going to undertake. I am a lawyer myself. Trust me when I tell you that as chronic and/or acute pain patients we are ants among gods against the FDA and big pharma combined. Any lawyer/firm will tell you, as I am now, that any such endeavor is completely futile and not plausible.

I found CVS in my area (Connecticut) does not have Camber. I also learned that Rite Aids have been purchased by Walgreens and are slowly switching to the brands Walgreens carry, which is Camber. My dr and I made quite a few phone calls trying to find either the Actavis or any manufacturer whose Percocet didn't contain Blue Dye due to an allergy. My dr even asked Walgreens if they could order it for me due to my allergy and was told no and that she should contact my insurance to get them to cover the brand name. That would be great if the name brand didn't also contain blue dye. But my local CVS carries 2 generics, neither or which are Camber. So i had all of my meds switched to them.

Opioids pain meds do not make you nervous nor do they make you geek they have the opposite effect on you. This should tell you that there is no opioids in these meds. The government will say they have come up with a new synthetic opioid and that's accounts for the 10/325 or the 5/325 or what ever dose you are on and that account for the strange feelings people are having

Walgreens did order me the Actavis for my recent script. Until then I was so very sick from the Camber. I've had my new script for Actavis a couple of days. When I talked to them about ordering them, was when I took 2 stomach medications I had been prescribed because of what the camber Percocet had done to my stomach. I cannot believe the difference between the actavis and the camber Percocet. Since back on the actavis, my stomach is getting better but I wonder if it will ever be completely well from a month on the Camber. My pain is better, my nausea is much better and I'm getting pain relief. ACTAVIS is a pain medication that works the way it's suppose too. At least for me anyway. I am convinced I was being detoxed from all the nausea, vomiting, shaking, etc.. on the Camber. My life will always be filled with pain until the day I die because of my injuries, but being I. A real pain medication as Actavis has given me the quality of life back I lost for a month. I was in bed with the camber everyday. Back on the actavis I haven't had one headache. I don't count on them ordering this for me most likely again, but I have independent pharmacies that carry the brand. Walgreens was out of the actavis but they did order it for me. Back on it for almost a week, it has made such a tremendous difference in a positive way. I will never put that camber in my body again. Us chronic pain patients, need to be treated with respect and dignity.

Read my post again. I had said tried the first time and they would not let him order it. I complained to corporate and then got some in and still have it. Dont know if my complaint had anything to do with it. However if they run out again; I know Wallgreens will not order the Actavis if they run out. Then I will call the independent pharmacy. I think they said they could order. I wont wait until the last minute.
