Camber Adderall Complaints (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Updated

Camber's new generic for Adderall IR 15mg is no good. Prior to it I got 10mg Adderall from CVS and it worked great! Just got a fill from Kroger since CVS was out of stock. The brand is from Camber and not only does it not work, it makes me feel unwell, sleepy and super irritated. It’s crazy how companies are able to differentiate in their generics like they do. This Camber brand just makes me want to go to sleep but I feel so unwell it’s hard to. I can’t focus at all on anything but how sick I feel. Don’t take this new stuff people and if you have what did you think?

Oh how i feel for you all....the entourage effect is very powerful...i had camber 90 pills 30mg last month....i blind took them with a witness...double blind on myself...found both were the same effectiveness...but after reading all yall...i realize i felt the negatives...lets not focus on the "internal stuff" it's just 2 hrs to kick in.... I recognize adderall sucks period now in 2022 but i empathetically understand your plight and wish 2010 adderall was the business...so yea i think the world just isn't about the true Dextroamphetamine anymore....free advice, wilshire makes MIA30 for generic now....check it out here

Re: Diego (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

But wait a sec, until tonight I had no idea that there were different manufacturers of generic Adderall. After looking for a picture of the pill I’ve taken for 20+ years, I found Elite was the manufacturer. My Adderall tablets are round this month. I didn’t care, it’s all the same right? However the day I started on the new round pills, headache, nausea, uneasy, yawning constantly, stomach pain, dizzy, no stamina, motivation or give a f’s at all. Crabby if anyone even whispers my name because the headache is so intense. Looking for an explanation, I even took a covid test. It was negative. Being so irritable, I went online and googled what’s wrong at Walgreens that they have no Adderall (they partially filled my Rx and told me to find another pharmacy outside of the Walgreens chain to get the rest of it). Trying to find an answer lead me to all these threads about generics. First I’d heard of it. Camber kept popping up as a stay away from manufacturer. I wondered what I was taking and looked at the bottle. Camber. I googled it and found description after description of what I was experiencing. My problems with taking Camber’s generic came long before I even knew there was a company called Camber. Yes it’s all in my head, but not because someone put it there. You worry bout yourself.

I have had to request that the pharmacy (I use Kroger) ONLY fills my Rx for Adderall with the name brand. I don't have health insurance so I am paying for it out of my own pocket and let me tell you that after all the nightmarish side effects I experienced with the Camber generic brand, paying the couple hundred dollars more for Adderall brand is worth it. I had to start using the extended release because it's cheaper but with my blink savings card (Blink is comparable to Good Rx) 30 of the 30mg XR Adderall brand costs me around $230.

At least I know if I'm getting the name brand every month my medication won't change. It's hard enough having ADHD without these pharmacies switching generics on us but they are NOT all the same formula!

Always check your prescription when you pick it up! Check the manufacturer and refuse it if it's Camber. Lanette doesn't work either but it doesn't have the nasty side effects that Camber does. The Kroger pharmacy I use is really inept at paying attention to what my doctor specifies on my Rx. They have tried numerous times to substitute a generic when my doctor clearly states to DISPENCE AS WRITTEN. So if anything, check to make sure your pharmacy is following directions.

I am so sorry all of you are going through this. I spent a whole entire summer in a deep depression because most of these pharmaceutical companies are manufacturing something that they have absolutely NO BUSINESS making!

Hang in there people. Hopefully these pharmacies will get the hint if more of us refuse to accept their fake ADHD medication.

So I usually get Lannett generic brand but the Walgreens my doctor sent it to only had Camber. So the took 15mg and literally was able to take a nap on it LOL. But now I took two 15 mg that made it like a 30 mg pill and it work perfectly. I really don't have any complaints. So far it has been 3 hours and it is working just like the Lannett generic brand. So see if you just take a little more that want is prescribed and see what happens.

I take this medication for narcolepsy which is severe. When I was given Adderall made by Camber, I actually fell asleep… No joke, and this is never happened to me before. I filed a formal complaint on the FDA webpage, and if you have had a similar experience you should as well

I received Camber 10 mg generic adderall from my pharmacy this past month (August 2022). It was horrible, headaches, extreme fatigue, upset stomach and sores popped up everywhere. I had previously taken generic adderall (prior to my past two pregnancies) to help with my inattentive ADD. I was diagnosed in college after having to withdrawal from many of my classes due to test scores. I was always a poor test performer, but in high school my homework scores made up for it. I would stay up late every night weeks before a test to study (we are talking up until 3 am) with the same result. I also had a hard time with reading comprehension, even failing the first grade. As an adult, I rely on medication while working in my professional career to stay on task, wrap things up and plan ahead. It calms the noise and allows me to problem solve rather than feel overwhelmed and procrastinate. The previous generic helped me with this and was a life saver. It made me function as a normal individual (not over perform just perform without the extraordinary extra effort I had previously required). I never felt the medication, but I could tell it was working by the calmness and focus. Camber’s generic does nothing for me, there are no benefits and many issues. It makes me agitated, dries my skin out, gives me headaches, makes my stomach hurt, makes me sweat, has caused sores to pop up and makes me extremely sleepy. I have asked for the brand name moving forward and would recommend that to others as well.

Re: MALEX (# 85) Expand Referenced Message

requesting a dif manufacturer is all well and good...except we are in the middle of a national shortage of not only 1 manufacturer, which we with ADHD prefer, but several others now as well. You sound so "high and mighty" in your reply.
Look to the medication Concerta...some of the generics are NOT the same as the name brand due to the release mechanism which is patented by the name brand, therefore, the generic's release of the medication is NOT the same/is not equivalent.

I was taking amphetamine/ dextroamphetamine salt combo 20mg tabs made by TEVA. Then got switched to the Camber brand and immediately noticed a difference. I wasn't getting the same effect/results, not even close ! Even taking an additional dose just left me confused and frustrated.
I'm going to talk to the pharmacist to see about exchanging what I have left for the TEVA brand. I'll post my results after that.

Re: Tevanooooo (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

YES! I had that head pressure the whole month I was on it. I had to take Tylenol constantly for the headaches. I felt pretty good for about the first 7 to 8 days and then I became increasingly more irritable and downright angry and verbally aggressive while on it. I would get sleepy and sort of "spaced out" and numb. I had no motivation. It was horrible.

Does anyone else get a weird side effect of their tongue getting sore and swollen? Like the taste buds get dark red, swollen and inflamed and it hurts to talk or eat? I noticed it went away when I was off my medication for a few days? If this happens to you please let me know. It has to be the medication for me, no other cause and it always coincides with my medication.

Re: mmmac (# 100) Expand Referenced Message

I understand. I'm 54 and I have been taking it for the past 20+ years. I have fibromyalgia as well as chronic fatigue/lethargy from other medications I have to take and adderall (I've only taken generic) is the only thing that has helped me to be able to get out of bed and be productive, focused, alert and feel hopeful to be able to live a somewhat normal life. The Camber and other poor quality generics have made me so ill and have affected me adversely in so many ways and then add to that, the stress of trying to get your medication for the next month....it's too much. It is really unfair. Is there not someone we can file a complaint with? Maybe a class action lawsuit?

Also, has anyone tried getting the actual brand? Is that out of stock as well? Is it much more expensive and does it work better? I've never tried brand so I was wondering.

Re: Janalyse (# 101) Expand Referenced Message

You’re totally correct!

I tried Vyvanse about 6yrs ago and it didn’t seem helpful @30mg.

However, last month my current doctor & I actually did discuss trying it again due to the Camber issues, ideally at a slightly higher dosage.
So that will happen next month and I’m very hopeful it will be successful.
Especially now that my other meds are brand name only and am not fighting the side effects of the inactive ingredients in generics of those.

The Camber generic does feel like poison and I’ve almost weaned myself off it entirely.

Until my next appointment and switching to Vyvanse, I’d prefer to fall asleep randomly and explain the disorder after if necessary over what this seems to be doing to my body and mind.

Re: mmmac (# 113) Expand Referenced Message

Good luck! I hope Vyvanse will help you. Maybe your doc can prescribe 45 mgs if it comes in that strength. Or you could go in at 50 mgs. I’m unsure if the dosage corresponds to weight or symptoms or a combination of both, but it’s def worth a shot. Let us know how you do.

You should fill this form up. Let the FDA know about yr experience. I was severely poisoned by camber’s "fake" adderall and they are not being held accountable.

Re: James (# 121) Expand Referenced Message

It's funny, Mallinckrodt from what I have read from others has very mixed reviews. More so than any other brand. Having tried it myself, it isn't a good brand, but can be good enough when nothing good is available. At least, that is how I respond which was often shared by others.
For me, bad brands, aurobindo/aurolife, sun pharma (formulary taken over by Frontida BioPharm Inc. which may be sold as Sun or Frontida). Both of which have been white labelled as Northstar brand. Epic, the new Lannett formulary post July 2022, accord / Intas, Camber, Granules. Basically, for generic Adderall I avoid any brand that is or is owned by an Indian or Chinese based brand. Nothing against those countries or people. Just that their pharma industry culture is to make cheap generics with lower quality ingredients and too often low standards. Which is where most generics and active/inactive ingredients are based from.

All Adderall is made in the U.S. But, foreign companies do manufacture scheduled drugs in the U.S. Including the brand name as Teva is an Israeli company. Which bought the British company Shire who had the patent before them.

Camber is horrible and I made my complaint months ago. It didn't work as an ADHD med and, for me, was seriously rage inducing. It's in my Walgreens file *NO CAMBER*.

My Walgreens is now dispensing Camber in Florida. Useless for ADD symptoms and my blood pressure was all over the place-mostly low which is the opposite of what Adderall should do. I hope you can continue to find a generic that works
