Camber Adderall Complaints (Page 4) (Top voted first)
UpdatedCamber's new generic for Adderall IR 15mg is no good. Prior to it I got 10mg Adderall from CVS and it worked great! Just got a fill from Kroger since CVS was out of stock. The brand is from Camber and not only does it not work, it makes me feel unwell, sleepy and super irritated. It’s crazy how companies are able to differentiate in their generics like they do. This Camber brand just makes me want to go to sleep but I feel so unwell it’s hard to. I can’t focus at all on anything but how sick I feel. Don’t take this new stuff people and if you have what did you think?
Totally agree with you. Camber Adderall is terrible. They made me so sick. It should be illegal to make something like that.
Re: A very pissed off patient (# 104)
I had a negative reaction to Camber's version of Adderall this month and was incapacitated. I'm grateful that I have a long-term relationship with my doctor and that he took my symptoms seriously and worked with two different local pharmacies to help me get Teva instead. It makes me sad to imagine what people without that kind of care are going though. Even after discontinuing Camber, I felt sick for several days - with nausea, headache, brain fog, and depression. I reported the experience to the FDA and hope others with similar experiences do the same. For those who haven't had negative side effects, I'm so glad and hope that continues.
Yeah, it's junk. I've been taking Camber 12.5 for a week... the side effects have subsided a bit, but it's still very ineffective. It makes me feel ill, tired, and clumsy. My stomach is really having a hard time with it. Mentally, my thinking is disorganized and a depression hangs over me.
Do these companies actually try their stuff out on people before they produce and sell it? Because I can't imagine anyone saying this formulation is acceptable.
Re: Chuggle (# 117)
I reported this medicine to the FDA. It felt like poison . If your Stomach and mental health is being affected because of a medicine, why would trust to continue taking it?
Re: Kimi (# 120)
I have taken generic Adderall IR 30MG for 10 years for narcolepsy.
Thus, I have had many generic brands.
The two I would avoid at all costs are: Camber and Mallinckodt
Re: c (# 13)
I got severe lower abdominal pains. Very nauseous, headache, fatigue, unable to focus. I couldn't even do my job at work kept nodding off. The Camber Generic is very toxic!!!

You need to understand that people respond to drugs in different ways. Some people take Adderall and it puts them to sleep while others get wired. Some people respond to 100% dextroamphetamine better than any combination with levoamphetamine. Adderall is 75% dextro and 25% levo. Some find that works better.
Generally dextro acts more on the brain while levo acts more on the cardiovascular system. Increase heart rate and respiration, more circulating oxygen, more stimulation. So, you can see how some respond better to something like Adderall.
Evekeo is 50/50% dextro/levo. 15% of people respond better to that combination. Which could possibly be many of the people who may respond better to generics that don't work as well for others.
The main issue is low quality vs higher quality inactive ingredients. Which, unlike the name, are not always inactive. "Inactive" ingredients all have their own drug profiles and may help people to respond in certain ways to the active ingredient or may boost or inhibit it. Or add their own unique effect. The big issue for those whose generics don't work compared to others is likely due to excipients helping, hindering, or being neutral in aiding the active ingredient to pass the blood brain barrier for them. i.e. the better brands may have an Adjuvant - " ingredients that modify the action of the main ingredient in a solution or prescription, or enhance the effectiveness of a medical treatment".
As a quick excipient example. Calcium Carbonate is a common excipient (again, inactive ingredient) used for things like diluent, improve dissolution rate, opacifier, and dissolution adjuvant in tablets. At the same time it also acts as an antacid. Which, for someone with a lot of stomach acid may enhance absorption of Adderall (amphetamine). Amphetamines are a weak base. Which can be ionized by stomach acid. ionized amphetamine has a harder time being absorbed. It is also how it is eliminated through urine which would also make it last a shorter time. Having calcium carbonate for whatever reason could easily improve absorption for someone with strong stomach acid. Who may report that brand more favorably than someone like me who takes omeprazole to suppress stomach acid.
So, not only do people respond differently to the actual active ingredient, people also respond differently to the inactive ingredients which can make a huge or no difference between brands for them. Most people respond best to 100% dextro for the therapeutic effect. But I prefer the weaker 4 mixed salts of Adderall myself because of the smoother transition for onset/offset. Evekeo just plain sucked for me being too weak, not enough dextro.
40mg corepharma, teva, sandoz, shire, barr would wake me up and get me out of bed in 20 minutes. Aurobindo, sun pharma, and more, 100mg, I had to set my alarm 2 hours later to be sure to wake up and get out of bed. There is nothing psychosomatic that would account for that difference. Especially when I didn't realize I was switched to Aurobindo and thought I was still taking corepharma.
Re: Optimistic (# 1)
That +/- 20% variance is totally untrue as stated.
I don't have time to write all the technical stuff which can easily be found online.
Will just summarize by saying the vast majority of meds vary by up to 3.5% and very rarely up to 5%. It is based on blood concentration over time intervals, not how much is in the pill. And that only sets the formulary with the FDA when approved.
From there, there are batch statistics that have to have all ingredients within a sample of the batch within a certain margin of the set formulary. That is where API variance from the formulary could be seen, but still not worth looking at....
Real issue...amphetamine is very sensitive to the inactive ingredients (excipients) in the drug's formulary. Which determines how well it crosses the blood brain barrier or not. Bioequivalence only checks how much of the API is in the blood, not how much has crossed the blood brain barrier which is required by psychoactive drugs for therapeutic equivalence. This is where the FDA and DEA have been incompetent on this issue.
Good brands cross the BBB, bad brands barely do. That is the discrepancy people are seeing. You can have 3 times the active ingredient in a pill, and still be less therapeutic due to low quality excipients!!!
Re: Starlettevic (# 2)
Would they let us change it?
I myself have been taking TEVA 20 mg IR bid for 9 years. I have had to accept the change to Camber. Am I happy about this? Nope. My pharmacist explained the TEVA factory in Israel due to numerous health code violations. I have had satisfactory results from Camber. Just the fact I can write this whole paragraph in one sitting tells me they do work. We may have to endure this for quite a while. Here is a link I'm sure a few of you have seen. Good luck to all.
Report: US plant closure portends drug shortages—some critical
Walgreens switched my manufacturer without even mentioning it, I got the script home & tried it from Sunday to Thursday I started having HORRIBLE side effects, it’s now Friday afternoon and time is still SPACEY I have felt black out drunk, upset stomach and not able to eat much at all. I’ve been trying to drink plenty of water and force myself to eat to get this stuff out of my system ASAP :-( no luck so far.
Camber the worst! Sleepy plus broke out in rash brain fog made me a mess had no idea it was from that until I had to stop all meds and work back in and bingo. Mrg's keep changing went back and looked at some old ones I always keep a couple when their good and 20mg Orange Teva and Pink Elite Labs worked great for me now cant find. I see alvogen can get at CVS and Lennett at small local spot and Rhodes at Publix. If anyone is south florida with any advised do tell thx in advance
I have had my pharmacy switch brands on me before, and I've had some lackluster experiences with other brands but none have been as drastic as this Camber.
My main complaint is that I feel tired all day, more tired than if I hadn't taken any at all, almost like I'm sedated...but there is an underlying odd and anxiety laden alertness which has my brain running in overdrive (while glued to the couch.)
Yesterday I was so sleepy I had to take a nap, and then I was up until 4:00 a.m. I have never had medication mess with my sleep schedule this severely before. I literally had to kick my own butt to drag myself into the shower this morning and just washing my hair felt like a Herculean task.
As I said before, I've had medications that I felt just didn't work right or perhaps the ratio was off and didn't mess with my personal chemistry like I was used to, but this medication is so wildly different than the Teva 20 mg twice daily that I usually have. Honestly I think I would get more done throughout the day if I just skipped the meds completely.
It's not that it doesn't do anything at all, it's definitely doing something... unfortunately for me it's just seems to be the complete opposite of what I need.
I did notice that whenever I went off my meds in the past, I experienced the crashdown which lasts for about 3 days in which time I get those shiny zig zag visual floaties for a little while, it only lasts for about an hour and it only happens once during the adjustment period. I have no idea why but the two times I went off my meds I remember I had them both times. I have steadily been on my meds for about a year-and-a-half now but on my second day into this new medication I got the floaty shiny C shaped thing again. It only lasted about an hour but I find it odd that I'm experiencing that side effect even though I haven't skipped any days in a very long time.
Sorry this is so long I find myself rambling again LOL. I hope that by sharing my experience it can help some of you who need to know that this is not all in your head, this medication sucks for a lot of people and I called my Pharmacy and told them that I will cover the cost if they could get me any other brand other than this. They said they would put a note on my file that it gave me a bad reaction and make sure that I don't get this medication again. Good luck my friends!!!

Worst month of my life! I’m a stay at home mom recovering from Covid and a continuing bout of either stomach flu/food poisoning and I’ve been hit with some post viral severe chronic fatigue made so much worse by this Camber!!! The depression is unreal too. I barely have the energy to brush my daughters teeth or change her diaper it’s that bad. Anyways, today was my refill date and I had been calling the pharmacy since the start of this telling them don’t ever give me that poison ever again. I asked to only be given Sandoz or Teva. They said they would try to order it but the whole back order thing likely through October. I told them how sick the med was making me. I called two days ago to see if I had won the lottery and they had any in at all. Well, apparently they had put a special order in for me and a few others they said. She put me on hold to check the safe and came back to the phone saying she had enough to fill mine and she was putting it off to the side for me. Did not want to get my hopes up, so when I went to pick up today I made sure to check first it was Teva. Lo and behold! It was!! I never wanted to cry such happy tears As I did today! Im already starting to feel a lot better and I have no doubt not only does Camber not work, but I think it’s some kind of poison too! Been sick an entire month and the coincidence is too weird. It at least messes up our immune systems I think. Who knows if this a new way terrorists attack a country? Something is really really bad about this med!!
Quick update, pharmacy is going to order Epic Pharm brand as it is the only other brand they can even get right now. Will post an update after a few days, I get them tomorrow.
Re: Kim D (# 5)

Re: The truth tell (# 55)
Well 3 at once is the magic trick? You have me laughing so hard right now. Zantac and couldn’t walk. That’s so funny!
Re: Sinthia (# 73)
Agreed, this is not healthy.
Re: Jill (# 16)
Same here!!! I took a antigen test and a PCR after it showing negative because i thought i got covid and antigen was inaccurate. This literally gives me covid-like symptoms. Camber is not working at all and i felt so bad like i’m on ambien or something. I’ve been on adderall for years and this is the worst.
