My husband is taking bupropion hcl 150 mg medication in the morning along with citalopram 40 mg in the evening for depression. This is only the second day for the bupropion. He is 85 and also on Coumadiin. He is complaining this afternoon of like a stiff neck. Is this a reaction to the bupropion? He intends to stop taking the medication tomorrow morning until he can contact his primary care DR. Should he stop taking both medications citalopram tonight and bupropion tomorrow morning? Do we need to go to the ER yet today for these symtoms? ## Hello, Carol! How is your husband doing? At that point, it wasn't life-threatening to require a trip to the ER, but yes, the Bupropion has been known to cause a stiff neck and/or sore/stiff muscles in general in some people that take it. Last month (Feb 2014) my pharmacy filled my prescription for bupropion hcl sr 200mg with product made by actavis. It was an oval yellow pill. I felt dramatically better, and was looking forward to continuing to use the same product. Now it is apparently no longer available because Activis was bought by Watson. My new prescription is a round white tablet with wpi 3335 written on it. Has anyone else had experience with this particular product? Has anyone found success with any other version of this product. It is very frustrating to have so much inconsistancy from one bottle of medication to the next. (Global Pharmaceuticals was so bad that I changed pharmacies to get a better product.) ## Have you tried talking to your pharmacist about the problem? They may be able to order in the one th...

I've been taking bupropion XL 150 mg once a day now for 6 days now and as the day go on I have a strange feeling in my body kind of like some anxiety by the evening!! I also take 40mg of Fluoxetine daily. I've been taking 20 mg of the fluoxetine for 25 years with no side effects. But this feeling I get from the bupropion is not good. My Dr added it because the depression started coming back!! I also have dry mouth and a faint headache. Will these symptoms go away? ## Hello, Maud! How are you? Yes, these symptoms may go away, after a month or so, once your body gets used to the medication. In the meantime, you may want to talk to your doctor about splitting your dose of Fluoxetine, taking half in the morning and half in the evening, that may help. Is there anything else I can hel...

I have been taking the Bupropion HCL XL 150MG for 5 days but have noticed little effect. It seems to me as if I am in-between how I should feel, I feel a little up, melancholy, calm but at the same time I feel not so motivated, a little placid and could easily sit and do nothing (all though I feel like I should be up doing something, does that make sense?) My question is would it hurt me to take two 150MG? Just to see if this gets me out of this limbo state. ## Hello, Ira! How are you? 5 days is far too soon to expect this medication to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body, it can take about a month for that to happen. And no, you definitely shouldn't adjust your dosage without your doctor's approval. Is there anything else I can help with?

What other drug would be very close to the Bupropion to substitute. My doc.told me to cut dosage in half and see if muscle pain lessens. If not then we are going to see what would work for me.On 150 it was great and helped me feel normal in years. So that is why I hope we can see how half works.Pain is still 24/7 but does respond to alleve and is about 5 out of 10 now.Possible it has not reached efficafy point at 4 weeks maybe? Thanks Thanks ## Hello, Juan! How are you? Are you using it to treat depression? There are many other options available that you can try, there are SSRIs, SARIs, SNRIs, MAOIs and tricyclics. You may want to talk to your doctor about trying an SARI, since they can also sometimes help with nerve pain, so they may prevent more issues than they cause for you.

I started a week ago on 150mg of Bupropion XL and now increased to 300mg with dr ok.I started feeling not happy most of the time with no reason at all and this had been going on for a year.Have been diagnosed with anxiety and take Xanax but feel bummed that I seem to have graduated to depression. How do you feel at first on med and how long to take effect? ## Hello, Juan! How are you? Sorry about the problems you've been experiencing. As to your question, there is really no way for anyone to tell you how you're going to feel on it. Everyone is different, some people have a great experience with it and some don't. Some experience all the possible side effects, while some don't experience any. In some cases, it has even made some people feel a bit worse for the first couple...

After 4 weeks of 150xl once dailey am still experiencing very strong muscle aches all over 24/7. ON a scale of 1-10 it is an 8.Is this normal or should I call dr.I feel much better as it was for anxiety but killer aches. ## Hello, Juan! How are you doing? Generally, at about a month in, side effects should hit their peak and start to taper off in severity. If the muscle aches are still that intense, then it's time to consult your doctor. There could be something else going on, or this just might not be the right medication for you. Learn more Bupropion details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been to a neurologist, a rheumatologist, i've been for an M.R.I., and also been for more blood tests than I can count. All because of side effects I had been having for nearly two years. Here are a list of symptoms I had while taking Bupropion HCL SR 150mg: *dry mouth, *severe headache, *increased sweating, *joint aches, *blurred/tunnel vision, *dizziness, *chest pain, *fainting/black out, *irregular heartbeat, *hearing problems/ringing in the ears, *agitation, *confusion, *anxiety, *shaking, *weakness, *hallucinations, *swelling/numbness in face, tongue & lips, *high blood pressure. My doctor's first concern was stroke. The neurologist ruled that out because the symptom of numbness/tingling would start in my mouth and move to my hand/fingers over the course of an hou...

Bupropion sr 150 Mg lg Dark BROWN pill. who is the maker of this generic pill? ## Hi, Anna! Are there any markings on the tablet? That's what would enable me to find the information about the manufacturer for you. Can you please post back with this additional information? Thanks!

I have been on bupropion SR 100mg tablets twice daily for several years and am pleased with the results. This week my pharmacy filled my 3 month rx with bupropion ER (from 2 different manufacturers, slight color variation) with no mention of the switch other than explaining the color difference. Can I continue to take the ER twice a day? Contact my Dr.? Question the pharmacist? I see from previous posts that the prescribed dosing is usually different for SR & ER. Thanks ## I am not sure where you read that, but there is no difference between the SR and ER, they both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication, so the dosage would remain the same. You may also see other abbreviations used for it, such as CR, CD, XR and etc. but they all mean the same thin...

I was taking bupropion MPI 3332, round white tablet(Generic Welbutrin 30xl), I changed pharmacies and recieved this white oblong caplet with M B9 printed on one side. I felt alot of anxity start to build over the next few days and the one cigarette I had finally worked down to(ultra light 72 [the teeny shot ones]), was now back up to half pack or more and full on regular light 100's! I thought nothing of it other than a breif passing moment while in the pharmacy and that was that. Well now hindsight 20/20 I think these are crap and switch backed to my old pharmacy and doing much better. ## Hi T Beau, Sorry to hear about your experience with that other generic you switched over to. From what I understand, there could've been a lot less of the actual active ingredients in that par...

was told by my pharmacist that Sandoz is no longer manufacturing buproprion - I can find no information to substantiate this - anyone have any info? ## No, I can't find anything to substantiate that, either. Sometimes, for a pharmacy, making such a claim really means that they just haven't been able to obtain it, perhaps their current supplier stopped carrying it, or the price changed and they just no longer want to have to order it in. Unfortunately, while some are very helpful to their customers and will go out of their way to make sure to order in your preferred or needed medications, there is nothing that obligates them to do so. Have you had a problem with the product from other manufacturers? Learn more Bupropion details here.

I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? It would really make more sense to stay at ...

I started taking Bupropion about three years ago (started on 150mg) for anxiety issues. I'd previously tried Abilify, but felt that it didn't affect me significantly enough. The bupropion, however, was my god send and I was very happy with the effects. After about a year though, I upped the dosage to 300mg due to increased anxiety. Granted, my anxiety couldn't hold a candle to how I used to feel prior to the medication, but it was as if it was beginning to try and fight through the bupropion. On the 300 I felt much more at ease with my life and found complete acceptance in any situation I was thrown into. At this time, I hadn't noticed any effects on my sex life whatsoever. Everything was as it always was, and I had no problem becoming aroused or climaxing. However, abou...
