Bupropion Er

I have been on bupropion SR 100mg tablets twice daily for several years and am pleased with the results. This week my pharmacy filled my 3 month rx with bupropion ER (from 2 different manufacturers, slight color variation) with no mention of the switch other than explaining the color difference. Can I continue to take the ER twice a day? Contact my Dr.? Question the pharmacist? I see from previous posts that the prescribed dosing is usually different for SR & ER. Thanks

I am not sure where you read that, but there is no difference between the SR and ER, they both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication, so the dosage would remain the same. You may also see other abbreviations used for it, such as CR, CD, XR and etc. but they all mean the same thing.

The only time there would be a difference is if you were going between the regular release and the time released.
