Another day, another blood test! Father, 82, had an ICD fitted Oct '15 after 6 week check he was started on blood thinner Sintrom Dec '15. Initial dose of 14g reduced to 10g, then 9g. INR today was 5.9 & re-test was 6.3! After discussion with hospital he has now been prescribed1g/day for 14 days then another good test. How long does it usually take to settle on a dose that keeps the INR stable between 2.0 & 3.0. ## Should read Sintron. Dark U/A prompted a clinic visit last Sunday. Nurse said this was common. Strip test showed no probs. INR was 6+ then 5+ & finally 2.9 which got me thinking as to the accuracy of the testers (see other discussion). I've been on riveroxiban for 3 weeks 15 Mg twice a day for 3 weeks then 20Mg for 6 months I've had terrible visual migraine scary but my blood clot apparently with me for life in my leg 54yrs old always been active running gym swimming now feel like I'm done anyone had similar so depressed I know there's people out there worse off Than me ## Hello, Eojy! My husband is scheduled to have a Button TURP surgery. The Urologist would like him to be off Xarelto for at least 5days.He is on it for Afib. The cardiologist won't approve that til he can see him. I am a 65 year old woman and I was put on xarelto 20mg in Oct 2015. I have knee pain and thigh pain, so I called my doctor and he took me off, but I still have the pain. The latest research results show that anticholinergic drugs produce a much higher risk of developing Alzheimers disease. I always take clopidogrel in a morning at 7am, this morning I have not got my tablets with me. can I take my tablet this afternoon when I get back home at 2pm. I have been on Xarelto for 2 weeks for a DVT in my left leg. I feel nauseated all the time and tired. I've been told to walk but after 10 mins of walking I become dizzy and disorientated. Hi I've been on warfarin for 2 months now from blood clots and I'm planning on going out for my birthday , I haven't drank anything since I was diagnosed but I really want to enjoy myself .I know the recommend intake of alcohol is 3 units but I was just wondering if I had any more than that ( say 5 units altogether ) would I be able to lessen the effects of the alcohol thinning my blood by taking some vitamin k the day before, day of and after? My doctor wants me to stop dosage for 2 days and my level is 1.5 is this not dangerous I have history of stroke and a mechanical mitral valve. I was switch to Effient after having severe reaction to Plavix. Since being on Effient My hair has been falling out by the handfulls . The condition of my hair now (whats left of it) causes constant snarling and looks so pathetic I don't want to go anywhere. I have fine thin hair to begin with, now I have lost just about all of it. I have never experienced anything like this before and very disturbing when you've had beautiful blonde hair all your life. I had a blood clot from surgery in July. My doc put me on Eliquis for 3 months where I bled excessively and nonstop. Even now after quitting, my periods last 2-4 weeks every month. About two months ago I broke three metatarsal in my right foot. I have been using a scooter and non weight bearing since. Early on, day 8 I had what felt like a Charlie horse that wouldn't go away. Went in and found a blood clot in my calf, a DVT. Since then I have been on Coumadin. I first went a few times a week to be checked and now once a week. I eat the same thing and have specifically avoiding drinking and foods high in vitamin K. My current INR is 3.7 and I know that is high. It has been higher previously and want to make sure I am not having internal bleeding or some other side effect. Been on Xarelto for five months. Lat muscles became chronically sore within first week after starting Xarelto. Both deltoids and part of tri-ceps starting getting sore. Am in competitive swimming at age 65 and been swimming since 12. Every time I push the workouts, the muscles become more sore. Definitely not sore from over rotation and joints don't hurt; just muscles. Also feel exhausted at times, even when having not swum. Very irritating and I blame this drug. Hard to keep weight down when I can't do a good swim workout. Gone from 4,000 meters to 2800 meters due to soreness. At times I wake up at night with soreness in deltoids. I have afib and after ep study they put me on xarelto and diltiazem cd. The channel blocker has completely kept my heart rhythms in check. I would like to get off the xarelto as I believe the joint pain in my hips and the lack of energy when I exercise is caused by the xarelto. My blood pressure is normal. I have Aorta Stinosis, in 14 days i am having open heart surgery to repair the aortic valve. My Doctor advised me to stop all anti coagulants (blood thinners), I take one 40mg ATORVASTATIEN (astorvastatien) once day. Do I continue with this medication prior to my operation.
