I take Xarelto 20 mg per day. I take it because I am a Factor V Leiden. Would there be any side affects if I started to take this TruVision pill for weight loss and energy. Thank you. ## @Lala Lennon, Sorry to hear about your Factor V Leiden clotting disorder. I truly hope that one day you'll wake up to find relief from it. Concerning possible side effects from taking TruVision, I think that's unfortunately something which can only be determined through trial and error - because we don't know how our body will react or respond to anything until we try it (whether you have a pre diagnosed condition or not). Everyone is just different in that regard. Having said this, posted below is a list of ingredients found in TruVision products: Alpha Lipoic Acid, Chlorogenic Acid, Chromi...

My doctor had me stop taking plavix after one year. One month later I had another heart attack. Now my doctor has told me to stay on plavix for ever. Has anyone else had a heart attack because they stopped taking plavix? ## Plavix contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, which is used to help inhibit clotting. Have they directly related your heart attack to clotting from stopping the Plavix? Rebound effects are always a risk, when someone stops these types of medications abruptly. However, there is no way to know if any given person may experience them. ## Yes, both of my doctors said it was most likely that I stoped the plavix that caused the heart attack. So they now have said for me stay stay on it for the rest of my life. I check with anoth group of doctors in another city and th...

Round white pill 196 on one side R on the other side ## I actually located two different drugs that have the exact same marking, so it may be hard to distinguish which one it could be... The first white round pill marked with R on one side and 196 on the other is identified as Clopidogrel bisulfate 75 mg; used in the treatment of heart attack and other heart related conditions. Manufacturer: Dr.Reddy's Laboratories Limited The other pill with this same marking is identified as Cetirizine hydrochloride 5 mg; an antihistamines used to treat cold or allergy symptoms. Manufacturer: Actavis Do either of these drugs sound like a viable match based on any past prescriptions you may have had? I hope this helps! ## Thank you, you answered my question. My dad has just started taking this after a stroke and 3 TIAs. He has 15mg per day. He has taken it for 4 days but has blood in his urine and the white of his eye is very red and looks odd. Should he stop taking it or will these side effects disappear once his body gets used to it? ## hi, I'm no expert but I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes 2 medicine, to me it sounds like it might be too much medication, i know the drug thins the blood and that might be why he's pissing blood, and could be why his eyes are red as feel, from the blood being extremely thin, i am not a doctor tho so if i were you i would defenetly contact your physician and figure out exactly what the problem is just to be safe. ## Apparently, side effects involving bleeding are fairly common with this dru...

I have undergone Angioplasty with Stentlad Coronary Artery. Doctor prescribed Repace 50 mg daily after dinner in addition to Aztor 40 mg (at night), Prasugrel 10 mg (morning) and Echosprin 150 mg. Are all the tablets safe to be used for long term treatment? ## HI! Sorry about the medical problems you've had! What you need to understand, though, is that that's a pretty serious procedure to undergo. That means that you really need to follow your doctor's advice and directions for your own health and safety….and that includes taking the medications they tell you to take, for as long as they tell you to take them. There is a chance in the future that you could reduce your need for drugs, if you really improve your health through proper diet and exercise, but unless such a ...

I have been on xarelto for two months now after a PE was found in my left lung. The only side effect was a consistent cough but doctor seemed to think that was due to the PE. That cough is now gone. So sorry to hear all the side effects others are dealing with. ## Hello, Dee! How are you? I'm very glad that this medication is working so well for you. Just as an FYI for others, the FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, joint/muscle aches, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Are there any questions or comments? ## Hi there I've been on xalterol 6 months and I've had back pain and shortness of breath and no energy and every time I go dr she says hang in there u only have 6 months to go I can't deal with it anymore th...

Just started taking eliquis, Is there a blood test to check and see if the medicine is doing what it is supposed to be doing as far as the right dosage and if the clotting factor working well. Have had a history of Dr's in legs and lungs. Could not get warfarin regulated. ## While it is not required as frequently as if you were taking Warfarin, your doctor should still check your INR every few months to keep track of how well it is working for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. How are you doing? Has there been any change, or further testing?

I accidentally took my grandma's Plavix two nights in a row instead of my Zoloft. Is that ok? ## Hi Summer, Sorry to hear about your accidental mishap with Plavix. How have you been feeling lately since the timing of your post? With Plavix being an anticoagulant (blood thinning agent) vs Zoloft being an antidepressant, I can't imagine how the difference in effects must've felt, even before discovering that you took the wrong medication. Something else to consider is that as a result of this occurrence, your grandma will be two days short on her meds and might be at risk of withdrawal effects as well as yourself, depending on how long & how often you've taken Zoloft. I hope all is well and look forward to reading any future updates you may have.

I haven't had my period in six years after the birth of my daughter and I suddenly started to bleed 3 weeks back. I've been bleeding ever since and it's getting worse this morning. Everyday I've had clots, and today's blood clots were a handful size diameter. Should I be concerned? Please reply back. ## Yes, that is a sign that you may have a hormonal imbalance and you should see a doctor. In most cases, according to NIH reports, large clots are due to an excess amount of estrogen in your body. Your natural processes may not have been able to rebalance themselves after you had your daughter. Are you on any medications? The general rule is that you should see a doctor if you experience any clots that are approximately egg sized, or larger.

I was started on Warfarin in May 2016. Dx: Pericarditis w Afib. Mid July 2016, I had a ruptured foot tendon accompanied by severe nerve pain in feet & tingling in my lips. I spoke with the doctor on call & was told it could not be the Warfarin. In June 2017, the joint & nerve pain & toe pain became so severe that I stopped the Warfarin & started Nattokinase. Yes I have been on Metoprolol & realize that can have the same side effects, but my question is specific to Warfarin. Thank you for having this great chat line. ## Yes, those can be side effects of Warfarin, according to FDA reports. It may also cause nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. As to Nattokinase, that is just a supplement, so it has not been tested and proven to help wit...

I have been taking xarelto regularly for about 3 months. I am noticing when I have a drink I get very nauseous and the next day I have diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? ## Drinking alcohol with most medications will worsen the side effects, according to FDA reports. You may also experience dizziness, and headaches. It is usually best not to drink while taking any prescription medication. They usually do not work well together. Alcohol can also cause additional blood thinning. How are you doing, now? ## I am now noticing that I get very nauseous when I take this medication I was taking it right before bed so It was hard to pin point where my nausea and diarrhea were coming from. I have changed the time I take it to around dinner and am not...

Hi all, I've been taking Xarelto for 6 weeks for a DVT in my calf (i'm in plaster with a broken ankle). I noticed some numbness and a strange tingling sensation in my pinky finger/ring finger in both hands. Since my dose was changed from 30 mg (15 mg x 2 daily) to 20 mg all of the joints in my fingers have become stiff and sore. The skin over the joints also feel a bit itchy??!! Has anyone else experienced symptoms like this? I'm just a bit worried as I have a family history of rheumatoid arthritis. I feel like i'm falling to bits at the seams at the moment, especially for a generally fit and healthy 31 year old female! ## I have a broken ankle.- did it 3 wks ago. 1 week later after continuous calf cramps got a blood clot. I have been on 20 mgs of xarelto for newly diagnosed afib once a day for one month. I didn't think about my refill and have run out of my medicine. I've called in for my refill but I won't get it for 2-3 more days. I've seen some things on the internet about stroke and have gotten worried. I use the Veterans Administration hospital for my medical so I can't just call my dr and pick up meds at a regular pharmacy. Should I be okay for a couple of days or should I go to the ER? Any information would be appreciated, thank you. ## Hello, CW! How are you? In such cases, it's always best to give your doctor a call to see what they advise that you do, since there can be risks associated with stopping it abruptly or missing doses. I have just read a notice about safety concerns if you are on xarelto and are going to have spinal anesthesia if you have had previous spinal injections. I had between seven and ten cortisone shots in my lower back between 2011and 2014, followed by radial ablation on both sides in 2014. I will be having knee surgery in a month and my doctor mentioned that he uses a spinal anesthetic. I won't be seeing him till a couple of days before the surgery and wonder if that is a little late to discuss it with him. Do you have information on what percentage of patients have problems? ## I've been asked to give more information about my problem. I have looked at other blogs and it seems that Xeralto has been given to patients for other reasons than AF. These patients have been taken off of ...

I am on Coumadin, and am in the middle of an IBS attack.....I'm wondering if Gas-X affects the Coumadin level or is it safe to take while on it??? I'm not going in for a pro-time for the Coumadin for another week, so would really like an answer. ## Coumadin contains the active ingredient Warfarin, it is most commonly used a blood thinner. There aren't any interactions listed for it when taken with Gas-X, but this site is not medical professionals, so you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. You can read more about this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I want to take gasx being on warfarin not not if it a problem.

Hi, I'm Redd, I've been on Xarelto for 6 weeks now due to 3 DVTs and 2 PEs and I'm just now beginning to experience the leg pains, how long do they normally last? ## Hello, Redd! How are you? Actually, sometimes they don't. Many people experience such issues for the duration of treatment and have had to stop the medication early, or switch to something else. The same applies to the other side effects listed by the FDA, which may include nausea, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Have you consulted your doctor? They may have some ideas that could help alleviate it. ## Hi Redd, I had so much presser in my legs, had to stop xarelto, it felt like my calf's were going to bust. I stopped Xarelto, and replaced it with Pradaxa. My back pain and headaches stopped immediately. I did have a previous back injury from years ago. I think that it's related. But it went away in days. I think that people should know. I struggled for 2 years with serious back pain and headaches. So I hope this helps everyone on Xarelto. But I must stress the previous lower back injury for a couple of years back.

began taking Eliquis in May after an AFib episode. After about 2 weeks I began experiencing what feels like habitual anxiety and muscle problems. Am currently experiencing headaches, being light headed and dizzy. I had several times initially when taking the medication when I thought I was going to have a blackout. ## Hello, Tessa! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems you've had. Those can be side effect of Eliquis, many have complained about similar problems. Doctor put me on Xarelto for afib. They are giving me samples - but I looked up xarelto on Internet and it is $445 to 465 a month, approximately. Looked over the internet for help, got an Rx Savings Card from the doctor's office, which took off $18.03, and my insurance with Part D takes of 20%. If you get a manufacturer's coupon, it is for only one month. If you get some kind of low-cost help, it is for only one month, So I just cannot afford xarelto, and need to go to warfarin - I have to have something for Tier 1 or Tier 2 that I can afford. I had a hard time getting plavix because of the expense until they came out with a generic, BUT xarelto is more than twice as expensive at plavix was, AND I am almost 75 years old and on Social Security with a couple of small pensions.
