Ran Out Of Xarelto

I have been on 20 mgs of xarelto for newly diagnosed afib once a day for one month. I didn't think about my refill and have run out of my medicine. I've called in for my refill but I won't get it for 2-3 more days. I've seen some things on the internet about stroke and have gotten worried. I use the Veterans Administration hospital for my medical so I can't just call my dr and pick up meds at a regular pharmacy. Should I be okay for a couple of days or should I go to the ER? Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

In such cases, it's always best to give your doctor a call to see what they advise that you do, since there can be risks associated with stopping it abruptly or missing doses.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising.

What did you end up doing?

Are you getting it from the VA? VA told me they don't have this drug and so I have to get it from Wallgreen's and it's costing me $410 a month. I can handle the payment but would like to get it at VA if possible, I get all of my other meds there.

Go to the pharmacueticals website. I have a card where it costs me zero per month. This is not based on income. I dont know how it works with VA though. I have regular insurance and the cost would be 100 bucks a month for me, if not for the card. They pay up to a certain amount per month.
