Is metoprolol 50mg twice a day all I need to be taking for this condition? I am a 65 yr. old woman. I also have a leaky valve. ## Has your doctor prescribed it for you? It is generally used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, and some cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications?

I am taking losartan 100 mg tablet every morning before breakfast. I also take Plavix 75 mg and Levothyroxine 100 mcg in a.m. By lunch time I feel very tired and don't have much energy the rest of the day. After dinner I take Narvasc 5 mg, Zetia 10 mg, aspirin 325 mg, and cephalexine 250 mg. My doctor doesn't seem to be very concerned about the fatigue but I feel it is interfering with my life. Such as gardening, exercising, shopping, etc. Any suggestions? ## How long have you been taking these medications? Fatigue, drowsiness, headache, increased urination, and joint pain can be side effects of these medications. How long will you be taking the antibiotic? Has there been any change?

I've always been able to sit in the sun, but I have noticed when I'm out in the sun my skin starts really burning and stinging. Does Irbesartan cause photosensitivity? ## Almost all medications can cause it, including these ones used to treat blood pressure, and heart conditions, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. It would be best to use sun block, when out in the sun, to be extra cautious. Are you on any other medications?

1 REPLY Updated in Irbesartan

I have taken it for years for blood pressure and I was told to quit taking it because I have become photosensitive where I burn in the Sun in minutes. How long does it take to get it fully out of your system? ## It may take several weeks, to a month for it to fully process out and for things to return to normal. The FDA warns that you may also experience some withdrawal effects, such as fever, chills, elevated blood pressure, elevated heart rate, and fluid retention. Are you on any other medications, or is the only one you take? What are you usual blood pressure levels? Have you tried sun block?

I accidentally took 5mg amlodipine with 20mg lisinopril. Normally I take amlodipine in the morning and lisinopril at night. ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist sees a reason to be concerned, there should not be an issue. Many of us take multiple medications to help control high blood pressure and heart conditions, multiple times a day. They do not necessarily have to be split up. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects?

1 REPLY Updated in Amlodipine

Can amlodipine besylate and amlodipine/benazepril be taken at the same time? This is for my high blood pressure. ## Has your doctor instructed you take them both? The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Multiple medications are often prescribed, if someone's blood pressure is too high, and the doctor feels that it should be brought down as fast, as possible.

Small peachish orange round pill with H on one side and 1 on the other side. What is it and what is it used for? ## A small round orange pill with H on one side and 1 on the other side reportedly contains 12.5mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide. This medication is primarily used to treat hypertension and edema; but has a number of other uses as well. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as Accord Healthcare. I hope this info helps!

I took 25 mg of losartan at 5:00 AM and accidentally took one at 9:00 PM. Is that harmful? ## Sorry to hear about the mishap LeeAnn... I see that you posted this back on March 31st, so it's been a few weeks now. Just wondering how you are feeling? Fortunately, Losartan's half-life is only about 2 hours, and the amount of time in between the two doses was far away enough that I probably would've imagined everything would turn out fine in the long run once it left your system; albeit might cause some unwanted side effects in the moment...

Had a friend almost pass out this evening. She only had 2 drinks and we are in Olando. We called 911 and they said her blood pressure was low but the heart monitor didn't show a problem. She is 52 and takes predizone which she just changed her prescription. They didn't take her to the hospital. What would you suggest?? ## I suggest she consult her doctor to discover why it was low and she should avoid drinking alcohol in the meantime. It may be due to dehydration, since you are in a very warm area and the alcohol can just make that worse. Is she feeling any better? ## hi po, my problem is that i always find hard to catch my breath.. and my stomach is not so well... is like bloating or always full even though i didn't eat too much.. i already go to the hospital but i don'...

I now have a pill that's green in color. My question is, does this pill cause hair loss or does it stop the growth of hair and also cause dry scalp? ## This medication has been known to cause hair loss in some people that take it, according to FDA reports, as well as dry skin. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. If these issues are severe/problematic for you, you should consult your doctor, there are other medications that you can try. Is this the only medication you take? ## Yes I use to be on benicar my insurance would not cover it so the started giving me generic and the pill has changed at least 4 times. i take lisinipril 10 mg once a day in the evening.....my bp is perfect all day until around 5pm then spikes up so ill take my pill...all evening im waiting for bp to come down usually takes a good 3 hrs to get good again...how can i better take it to avoid these spikes ## Hello, Danette! How are you? How high is it spiking in the evening? And when are the spikes occurring, are they happening after activity, after eating, or just close to the time of your next dose? Your blood pressure should fluctuate throughout the day, in accordance with some of the things I've already asked about, such as activity, eating, next dose being due and those are just some of the reasons listed by the NIH. I am a high blood pressure/cardiology patient myself, and I have learned that there are certain ti...

I have been taking 25 mg metoprolol and 400 mg magnesium oxide for atrial fibrillation for about a month. Over a week later a bad rash developed on both hands and one hand is red and puffy. Got off the mag oxide since I thought that was what caused it, but the side effects have gotten worse. I can't stand the itching. Afraid to go off both meds, my doc has not been much help and I feel confused. I never took any pills before this. I am 69 years of age. I need it to work really badly, what do I do? ## Hi Linda, sorry to hear about the effects that you're experiencing. It sounds to me like you may be having an allergic or more serious reaction here, so I would recommend reporting all of this to your doctor if you have not already done so. The reason I say that is because you may n...

I am concerned about my liver enzymes that are continually elevated more each doctor visit. I believe taking Linsinopril 10 mg. is the culprit. However, the doctors always defend the medication. I have been very tired with pain in lower right side. What are we supposed to do...how can I take myself off this medication? ## Are you on any other medications? Do you frequently take Acetaminophen/Tylenol? The reason I'm asking is due to the fact that, as reported by the FDA, Lisinopril is more commonly known to affect the kidneys. Though it has been known to cause cholestatic jaundice in very rare cases. Other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and headache. One idea, however, would be to ask your doctor about trying an alternative medication for awhile, to see i...

Put on half a .1mg Clonidine to take only once a day and was only taking it for less than 6 days. I forgot to take it and want off the pill. I also take 2.5 Corlanor at night and .5mg Lorazapam as needed. I am so scared and terrified of withdrawal. I was put on med for my Hyper POTS disorder. Will I be ok? So far my blood pressure has been good but I am feeling a lot of anxiety and heart palpitations. ## Hello, Katt! How are you doing? Has there been any change? There shouldn't be any issues after taking it for only 6 days, in theory, but everyone is different. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including insomnia, nervousness, palpitations, anxiety, and elevated blood pressure. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor, so they can check things out ...

I was given clonidine for my exiety and to help me relax because I have really bad twitches that never stop. I cant relax so would it be safe to take one more clonidine they are 0.1mg help me asap sence I cnnot sleep with this twitching ## Hello, Tiff! How are you? No, this is a very potent medication and you shouldn't take more than your doctor has prescribed. It may take a few weeks for this medication to reach its full level of efficacy in your body and for it to alleviate all your symptoms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## In some cases yes but for me the more I took the worse it got that is a very bad drug it causes all sorts of side effects from anyone I've known to take it higher then 0.3 Mg's dont ...

Many years on and off I have tested positive for benzos and am labeled forever a drug addict even though anything I've taken has always been prescribed, clonidine, seroquel, olanzapine cymbalta, trazodone, and norcos are all I've ever taken and just recently clonazepam which does not show up in tests. A friend of mine had been clean and sober for six years recently failed a drug test for benzos and all he had taken is clonidine. I don't drink or do drugs. Norcos, benadryl and clonazepam are all I've taken in 3 years and the benzos are not showing up now. Could anyone else have had this happen? With this drug only during the times I've taken it I came up positive. I tossed the drug.

I have used this medication since January 2015 for blood pressure. Can you tell me the side effects of this medication which may hurt my reproductive organ? ## Hello, Dare! How are you? Lisinopril is classified by the FDA as an ACE inhibitor and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. The only known effect it may have on reproductive organs is that it may cause ED in some men that take it, but that is not permanent and usually resolves, upon switching to a different medication.
