Hi. I’m taking losartan 25mg and besylate 10 mg. I take them 10-20 mins apart and I take them in the morning. Is it ok to take NyQuil with my blood pressure medicine? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? Sally was also my mother's name! I miss her so very much, and I guess I always will. Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure and various cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. However, besylate is not the name of an actual medication, that just designates the chemical salt it was derived from, can you please double check the name? Is it possibly Amlodipine Besylate? What formulation of Nyquil do you wish to take? ## Hi, awww Sally is a beautiful name.. lol yea I miss my ...

I started taking Losartan 50mg two and a half weeks ago and I have developed tinnutis, this is not a common side effect but an adverse one, I've previously been on Rampiril but didn't feel well, will this side effect go away or will it be permanent or should I change medication again, and if it's in the same family of arbs will I get it again. I'm getting quite worried, docs saying my ears look clear so don't know what to do. ## Yes, as reported by the U.S. FDA, that is a known side effect of this medication, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Such side effects are usually transient and go away, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take 4 to 6 weeks. If it doesn't improve, after that point, or if it wo...

Can peripheral neuropathy be a rare side effect of Losartan? I just cut back from 100mg/day to 50mg/day. I also get leg/foot cramps while sleeping, tightness in my calfs while walking, and just recently developed a dry cough. These other symptoms are more common - are they not? ## Hello, Joanna! How are you? No, I'm not seeing that listed anywhere among the side effects provided by the FDA, though yes, it can cause pain in some people that take it. You may also experience dizziness, nausea and increased urination. However, if you have the dry cough, you should speak to your doctor as you will most likely need to switch to a different medication. Once the coughing starts, it doesn't usually go away. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Not seeing foot and leg numbness anywh...

The oval white pill imprinted with U 136 as well as the round peach pill imprinted R 128 are both 0.2 mg clonidine! I am a recovering addict who's suffered from the disease of addiction. Originally they are indicated for high blood pressure and drug withdrawal. ## Clonidine can also be used for treating anxiety, ADHD and several other medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, sedation, drowsiness, dry mouth, and headache. I have not taken it, but I've heard it works miracles for high blood pressure. I have been taking hydrochlorothiazide for 2 weeks now, and this past week my kidneys have hurt badly and it hurts in my kidneys when I urinate. Is this typical of this med? Im taking it for high BP, also it makes me very sleepy if I take my whole 25 mg pill at once, I have had to go to a half dose to not be so tired. Anyone else have this experience? Should I call my doc? ## This medication is use to remove excess fluid from the body, to help treat high blood pressure, edema, and congestive heart failure. I've been taking mylan m231 for 10 years. Because of "shortage" i'm now taking zydus z66. Are these two brands exactly the same or should I expect to experience some unagreeable symptoms? I've only been on zydus brand for two days. I'm not at ease with switching brands. The pills are to help maintain blood pressure. How dare a drug company "HOOK" you on a drug for life and then they don't have them available for patients? They are putting people's lives in jeopardy. Patients like me are experiencing more anxiety and have increased blood pressure due to a lack of concern they have shown by not ending this ridiculous situation. I can't understand how mylan has had a shortage for several months and zydus has not. Is zydus using the same ingredien...

Recently my mentally ill mother told off her case worker and in retaliation my mother was told in order to get her meds NOW she will have to go to a partial care program or she won't get her psy meds no more, which she never had to do in the last four years, it feels like blackmail and extortion in a way what can I do my mom is really mentally ill and last time she was off her meds she heard voices and pulled a rack with a TV on herself and had to go to the hospital ## Who is forcing her to do this to get her meds? I was taken off Inderal because of my COPD, but recently my doctor said to take it again. I'm having reactions that may or may not be due to this med. Does anyone have answers please, concerning the combination of Beta blockers and COPD? ## Do you have any idea why the doctor told you to start taking the same medication, again? If you have high blood pressure, or some other cardiac condition, there are many other medications you can try. And yes, the FDA does warn that beta blockers, including Inderal, may cause problems for people that have COPD. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. What type of reactions are you having? Are you on any other medications?

Can a 25mg Atenolol tablet be scored? ## Are you asking if it's safe to cut in half? If so, then yes, as long as your doctor or pharmacist haven't instructed you otherwise and it isn't a time released tablet. My sensitivity to medications often makes me cut tablets, that aren't scored for cutting, so I can take a lower dose. My doctor just approves it first. ## Can you take 6mg of Atenolol to prevent or block an adrenal rush? Please advise and thank you! ## Hello, Bradly! How are you? Yes, since they are different medications, you can't really compare the dosages. However, the sweats are likely caused by stopping the other medication and starting the new one, just your body's reaction. The itching started a few weeks after starting the treatment and became more noticeable with time. I have stopped the tablets and have taken an anti-histamine, which seems to help. The low blood pressure (76/59) issue following my regular runs (4 miles) may not be directly attributable to Lercanidipine (10mg) because I also take Losartan (50mg). I have tried other BP meds - all with side effects, including one that produced swollen ankles with small pink spots. Any observations on either or both side effects would be welcome. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? In many cases, the itching is due to changes in your circulation from taking the medications. However, only a physician can diagnose that definitively. Losartan is well known to cause low blood pressure after ac...

Is 2 mg of Clonidine the same as 2 mg of Prazosin??? ## Hello, Sammy! How are you? They are not the same type of medication, at all, so there's really no way to compare them. It would be best to refill your Clonidine and continue it, as instructed by your doctor. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I believe they are nearly identical.
