Clonidine Vs Prazosin

I ran out of Clonidine. can I take Prazosin instead until I refill my script?? And if so how different is the dosages between the two? Is 2 mg of Clonidine the same as 2 mg of Prazosin???

They are not the same type of medication, at all, so there's really no way to compare them. It would be best to refill your Clonidine and continue it, as instructed by your doctor.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and hypotension.

I believe they are nearly identical. Both are actually alpha blockers. Same dosage. How would one think they are not at all alike? Google it yet? Do! Tell me if I'm wrong. The thing is, I just got home from being prescribed Clonidine. I'm hoping it's helpful.

I'm not sure if prazosin and clonidine are the same all I know is my psychiatrist prescribed me prazosin I went to get a physical last week and told the doctor I was on prazosin and she said oh okay Clonidine so I'm guessing they're the same thing
