Why does my heart rate and bp spike like this? I'm not doing anything but resting lately. ## Well, there are various things that could cause it, according to NIH reports, such as being sick, eating, taking in a lot of caffeine, or other medications. After two weeks of taking Chlorthalidone I have a maddening cough, yet my lungs are clear. Anyone else experience this? ## That can be a side effect of most medications used to help control blood pressure, cardiac conditions, or remove excess fluid from the body, according to FDA reports. The problem, however, is that once the cough starts, it doesn't usually go away, so you may need to try a different medication. I experienced it from Lisinopril and had to switch to a different medication. Have you informed your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## I have been on chlorthalidone for 3 weeks. My cough is driving me nuts. I will stop taking it this weekend and call my cardiologist Monday.
after starting this drug a frequency of nightly leg cramps started. I took an otc potasium pill but still had cramps. I stopped the pill and the cramps stopped. Has anyone else seen this happen? ## I don't have any personal experience with this medication, but I did find a complete list of side effects associated with Chlorthalidone (that you can view below), whereas cramps are listed as a possible side effect: muscle weakness dizziness cramps thirst stomach pain upset stomach vomiting diarrhea loss of appetite headache hair loss This information and more can be viewed by clicking on the link below: I would definitely consider contacting your doctor though about switching medications if the cramping becomes too bothersome. I hope this helps! ## My husband starting taking Chlorthalid...
I have recently been put on this drug for sleeping and well its not working at all. I have been taking one at night before bedtime which is what I was told but is it safe to take 2 since im not getting any rest with the 1? ## Also I failed to mention in last comment they are 0.2 mg ## I would recommend trying 1 1/2 first take it no more than 15 mins before bed it works fast. But if u take it 1hour or 30 mins before bed you can kind of simulate yourself into it not working then it loses its effect. Once the groggy effect wears off before your in bed most likely you will not fall asleep well. ## I would also call your doctor to let he/she know it's not working because if you increase your dose without say so to the doctor they will not be happy and you will run out of meds early. If t...

Found some Mylan 810 (12.5 hydrochlorathiazide in my travel bag and am asking what the shelf life is. Last time I traveled was at least 5 years ago. ## They have probably lost quite a bit of potency by now, though they do not get dangerous, once they are past the expiration date. However, they will not be as effective as they were years ago. If they were in a pharmacy dispensed bottle, the expiration date would be one year from the date it was filled, since that's when they are exposed to heat, light and other elements that cause degradation. If they were in a factory sealed bottle, the shelf life is about 3 years, so they still would have expired about 2 years ago. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is it ok to take mylan 810 capsules if expired in 2016. The cost medication...

What if I took 50mg of losartan and 2 hours later accidentally took it again? What can happen? ## Hi Daisy, Sorry to hear about the mishap. In my opinion I think it would be best to notify your prescribing doctor (or poison control) of what happened so that they may be able to assist you in the event of adverse reactions, extreme hypotension, etc. If this happened to me I would also probably be monitoring my blood pressure levels frequently over the next couple days to get a better idea of how my body is responding.
