Are all Generic created equally. I was taking the generic Amlodipine Besylate that was Blue with A9 on front an M on back. Latest refill is a white pill with G58 on front an 5 on back. After 3 days it appears that it is not working as well os the other one dir. So again are all generics created equally. ## Unfortunately, no. US generic medications are allowed to differ from their name brand counterparts by as much as plus or minus 20% in the active ingredient. This means that while the one you were taking may have had the full amount, the new one might not. The FDA considers this a safe, therapeutic window of different. I'm a 76-year-old diabetic female with blood pressure that is difficult to control. I was originally put on Atenolol 50mg until my medication was changed to Telmisartan + Hydrochlorothiazide (Telma-H). Right now my blood pressure is constantly changing. Please advise. It really depends on the type of supplement. Some things, such as a multivitamin or other vitamins are mostly safe. However, you have to be careful using supplements containing Potassium, as some blood pressure medications can cause it to be elevated in your body and too much of it is just as dangerous as not enough.
