I just started taking this med. about four days ago. I have been experiencing extreme diarrhea and stomach cramps. Is this one of the side effects? does the dosage need to be changed? or is another hypertension medicine recommended? Thanks in advance for your help. ## Dee, it sounds like you are experiencing side effects from the Amlodipine (muscle / stomach / headache are listed as possible adverse effects). Often, anti-hypertensive medications act as diuretics as a way of reducing blood pressure (hence your body expelling more water than usual). Your potassium levels may also become elevated. I recommend reporting this to your doctor since they may in fact need to change your dosage or switch your medication (based on what they know of your medical history). Hope this helps! ## i just...

I am taking 25mg of chlorthalidone daily to prevent calcium loss. One of the side effects is that it depletes potassium. For that reason, I take prescription potassium. The mcg's keep increasing because blood tests every 3 months or so show low levels of potassium. My potassium intake has now been increased to 50mcg per day (it started at 20). Has anyone experienced this? I am now going for a cardia stress test due to abnormal EKG. ## pot chlor er tabs ! have been getting a lot of muscle pain, legs mostly, any one else ? any sujestions / ## This medication is a diuretic, as such, it can sometimes result in a loss of Potassium in the body. A deficit in Potassium can cause leg and/or muscle cramps. If it continues to be a problem, I would suggest speaking to your doctor, you may need ...

Can I eat bananas after taking Stamlo 5? ## What has your doctor advised? Are you referring to potassium warnings? Some blood pressure medications, such as the Amlodipine in this, can cause your body to keep more potassium than usual, but you do need some and can't entirely stop ingesting it. You should double check with your doctor, because if it is a concern with this medication, they can do blood tests to check your potassium level.

I am taking 40 MG of Benicar. It has gotten expensive. What is a substitute for it that has little side efects. ## Have you spoken to your doctor about it? All medications in this class carry approximately the same risk of side effects. Cozaar, which contains the active ingredient Losartan, is available as a generic, so you may want to ask your doctor about trying it.

Morn and,Eve..its been about a month since the change and now I'm noticing my vision is alittle of and I get alittle lightheaded. Should I go back down to 2.5 again? ## Have you consulted your doctor? What have your blood pressure levels been? The symptoms you're experiencing might be due to its falling too low, sometimes. Is Metoprolol Tartrate 25 mg tab drug ID white round with M 18 the same as Metroprolol tartrate 25 mg white round tab /1 the same medicine? One pill is twice as big as the other and I don't understand how they could be the same? ## Yes, it is also 25mgs of Metoprolol, a generic for Lopressor. The reason it is larger is more than likely just due to the types of fillers that manufacturer uses, they do have a wide variety they can pick from and they will affect the size of the tablets. Some of the most common side effects of this medication include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and diarrhea. I was prescribed Losartan Pot 25mg. When the prescription was first filled, I received a green, oblong, tablet. When it was renewed, I received a tiny, round, pink pill. Is this just a manufacturer's difference, depending on who made the drug or is it something else, like being given the wrong medication?Frank ## Losartan is a generic medication, so it is manufactured by several different companies, but I can't really tell you any specifics, without knowing the markings on the tablets in question. Can you please post back with this information? If you do so, I will gladly check for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am currently on Lisinopril for High blood pressure, how safe is it while takin it with Phentirmene? ## Actually, Phentermine should not be used if you have high blood pressure. is lercan slow acting ## To answer your question, Lercan (Lercanidipine hydrochloride) has a short plasma half-life of approximately 3 hours; but despite this, it is indicated to be intrinsically long-lasting. I can't really paraphrase this as "slow-acting", since that may be considered different than "long-acting" and I am not aware if there is a difference. I think the half-life of the drug is most important though, when considering how long it will be most effective in your system. I hope this helps!
