I've been taking Metoprol for about 4 months now to help prevent A-Fib episodes, but since I've been taking it, first I had a location on my back that would itch, and now most days I have a dull ache, or tired feeling between my shoulder blades, it comes and goes. Another strange thing, is some days I get to feeling burpy, not forcefully, just in a minor but on-going way. Didn't have any of this prior to taking this medication. ## Hello, Karen! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the issues you're having. Metoprolol is classified by the FDA as a beta blocker and they have been known to cause such issues in some people that take them, sometimes to the point where they had to switch to something else to treat their conditions. Other side effects may possibly include n...

How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I think that your reflux is the most likely cause, but I am not a doctor. However, do you take anything to treat it? I want to know if my partners symptoms could be caused by ramipril. For the past few days he's had sickness, dizzy spells, passing out, he seems anxious about things and very short tempered, he sleeps all the time but is permanently exhausted, loss of appetite, strange dreams. It started boxing day. We went to his gp but he dismissed the cause was due to the drug and suggested stress. We asked if we should come on our holiday and the gp advised we did and to continue to take his ramipril. We've spent the whole week in our room and are just wanting to come home. I'm so worried about him and I don't know what to do for the best. Should he keep talking ramipril, which he was prescribed for high blood pressure, or stop to see if his symptoms improve. ## Hello, 53 years old, ...

I am 69 years old. I have been taking Amlokind 5mg for the last 3 years. My blood pressure is about 140/80. There is no pain in the body but my feet get swollen sometimes. Is it alright to take only half a tablet to see whether it reduces swelling without increasing blood pressure? ## My problem is solved! Taking only half a tablet has helped. Now there is no swelling in my feet and my blood pressure remains normal.

have been taking lisinopril for about two yrs . Am wanting to start estroven for menopausal symptoms... I read that black cohosh should not be taken with lisinopril. Anyone out there have any input on this? ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? The reason for that is due to the fact that Black Cohosh can also lower blood pressure, thus, it depends on where yours is with the Lisinopril and if your doctor approves of you taking it. In some case, it could cause it go too low, which may be dangerous. Lisinopril is classified by the FDA as an ACE inhibitor and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. interaction between clonidine and seroquel cause false positive for amphetamines? ## Hi Jon, While I didn't find any specific details regarding Clonidine's false positives, I can verify that Seroquel (on its own) is known to cause false positives for amphetamines. Referenced from: askdocweb.com/falsepositives.html Many of these cheaper drug tests have a 40-50% chance of being completely accurate with the drug(s) in question. False positives are just another way of saying they made a mistake, but rather to put the blame on you as opposed to them. I hope you are able to get this situation sorted out. ## I just I just had A drug test that showed I tested positive for amphetamines. I take seroquel and colonodine and the to will show up as A false positive. So please post this to you...

Because of recall and side effect I want to stop. How ## Hello, Rae! How are you? What recall? I'm not showing anything since June of last year. What types of side effects are you experiencing? This is a beta blocker that is listed by the FDA as being most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and hypotension. However, side effects are usually transient and go away in a few weeks, once your body adjusts to the medication. If you have high blood pressure, I strongly urge you not to stop it, before speaking with your doctor to replace it with a different medication. While the side effects may be annoying, in the meantime, letting your blood pressure soar out of ...

My blood pressure is now back to normal and I'm wondering if can just stop taking the losartan or do I need to wean off of it? And if I need to wean off of it how do I go about doing this? ## Hello, Laura! How are you? There is no cure for high blood pressure, it is a condition that must always be managed, so just because it's lowered with the medication doesn't mean that you no longer need the medication. Stopping it without your doctor's approval wouldn't be a good idea. If you stop the medication, even via tapering which is the safest method, there's a chance your blood pressure could just start to go up, again. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Are you having some type of problem with the medication? ...

I have been on Losartan 100mg for more then a year now with side effects I believe. I also take Metoprolol 50mg. I believe I am taking to much for my high blood pressure. I don't have the high blood pressure anymore but I would like to just take one of these. ## Hello, Sherry! How are you? There is no cure for high blood pressure, so you still have it, it's just that the medications are doing their job and keeping it down. Stopping one could cause it to begin going up, again. You are not on a very high number of medications, nor are you taking very high doses. Multiple medications are often prescribed to help bring someone's blood pressure down as fast as possible. You may be able to try stopping one, but you shouldn't do so, without your doctor's approval, because t...

However, Metoprolol is a beta blocker, used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions and some people tend to have bad reactions to them. If your symptoms have not started to improve, you should contact your doctor, because this is probably not the right medication for you.
