Can this be a form or substitute of benicar hct ??? ## Hello, Robb! This tablet is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list is as containing 200mgs of Hydroxychloroquine. The FDA shows this medication as being used to treat or prevent malaria. Its typical side effects may include nausea, blurred vision, headache, unusual bruising and weakness. So no, it is not a substitute for Benicar and will do nothing to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition. Bencher contains the active ingredient Olmesartan, which is classified by the FDA as an ARB. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and hypotension. Were you given this in place of Benicar? ## Yes by mistake of the pharmacist....... I noticed that the pills were different tha...

I have been on losartan 100mg 25mg HTCZ (LUP) for over 2 years. Recently pharmacy filled using a different manufacturer (NOR) and WOW!!! Once it was in my system I awoke in the middle of the night with dizziness to the point of waking me up. Thinking it was an inner ear issue I continued taking for almost a month. Dizziness and lightheadness continued but not as bad as the first night. (Several times during the day) I felt like I was walking around in a fog and almost felt like it was poisoning me. Went to the Dr. And back to the pharmacy to make sure I was put back on the drug I had been on for 2 years with little problems. I'm not one to complain only trying to help someone else before they spend a month trying to figure out what's going on. ## Wow, Cindy! I am so very sorry a...

My MD recently lowered my atenolol to 25 mg daily and losartan 25 mg daily, but added Lipitor 1 hs. due to my dizziness and lightheadness. pressure seems fine, but still feeling dizzy, can I take both all 3 at bedtime ## Why was the Lipitor added? The FDA classifies it as a statin medication that is used to lower cholesterol. It is very well known to cause side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, headache and joint/muscle aches, so it's very doubtful that it will improve anything. Generally, it is best to take the blood pressure medications, Lisinopril and Losartan in the morning, so they can help control your blood pressure during the times of day you'll be most active. The Lipitor, however, can be taken any time, unless your doctor specifies otherwise. ## sorry my question was...

I just started taking Losartan 50 mg. 3 days ago. I take arthritic meds. for gout so I asked the pharmacy if it would be ok to take this at 7 every evening. Now I am hearing that it should be taken of a morning. I take thyroid medicine first thing in the morning and then mid morning take the arthritis meds. Will it be effective taking the Losartan in the evenings ? ## Hello, Alice! How are you? When did you doctor instruct you to take it? Blood pressure medications are usually meant to be taken in the morning, so they can help control your blood pressure during the times of day when you will be most active and experience the most fluctuations. Taking it at night could cause it to go too low, since it naturally lowers at night, when you're at rest. The typical side effects of this me...

Does atenolol interact with concerta? I was prescribed both by two different doctors and I want to know if they are safe to take together. ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? Are both doctors aware of all of your medical conditions? If you are taking Atenolol to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, it may not be safe for you to take Concerta. The FDA classifies Concerta as a stimulant. It is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, nervousness and elevated blood pressure and heart rate.

I have been taking lasartan hct 100/25 for a few months for high blood pressure. I want to know does this medication cause headaches and dizziness? ## Hello, Shan! How are you? Have you checked your blood pressure recently? Has the dizziness been occurring mainly when you stand up or move suddenly? The HCT is Hydrochlorothiazide, which helps remove excess fluid from the body and those symptoms may mean that it's caused you to become dehydrated. Have you checked in with your doctor? ## I recently received a refill from a different manufacturer and YES dizziness and lightheadedness were a daily thing. Been off that pill for 4 days back to the LUP manufacturer and getting better bright yellowish pill bad

I AM TAKING PROLOMET R 25 ON REGULAR BASIS . I HAVE RELISHED THAT SOME gastritis, stomach pain . HOW I WILL CURE IT ANY OTHER MEDICINE WILL BE ESSENTIAL . PLEASE ADVISE. ## Prolomet-R contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time released formulation, it is a beta blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. It can cause stomach pain and irritation as a side effect, in some people. Have you discussed this with your doctor? You may require a change in medication. If it is what's causing your stomach problem, it is not likely to be cleared up, as long as you are using this medication. I suffered a similar problem with it and had to talk to my doctor and switch to a different medication. ## I FOUND IT VERY INFORMATIVE ## Stent placed to me in Jan-2011....

I have been taking 10 mg of Norvasc daily for a year and a half and have suffered all the negative side effects. I also take 80 mg of Lisinopril daily. My BP prior to adding Norvasc was anywhere from 165/95 to 200/95 (at this time I was taking Cozaar and Lisinopril). BP is now 124/85 to 145/95 BUT the side effects are so severe my quality of life is all but destroyed and I am pretty sure it is not the Lisinopril causing the side effects. My cardiologist gave me an Rx for 5 mg of Norvasc and told I can reduce the dosage but he can't guarantee my BP will not sky rocket. MY QUESTION IS, HAS ANYONE REDUCED THE DOSAGE THEY WERE TAKING OF NORVASC AND DID THEIR BP INCREASE APPRECIABLY? ## Hello, Alan! How are you? anyone else taking 50 mg cozaar and 50 mg atenolol and feeling lightheaded and dizzy when standing up from sitting position ## These medications have been known to cause orthostatic hypotension in some people that take them, as a side effect. Other possible side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension. How long have you been taking them? Most side effects are transient and will improve after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medications. Have you informed your doctor? It would be best to have this symptom checked out, to be safe.

Its is commonly used to treat ADHD and high blood pressure. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and hypotension. The dr. changed my bp meds. from 20mgs of enalapril twice daily to 20 mgs lisinopril once a day. I'm afraid this is not strong enough to take my bp down. BP runs around 169/90. Had a brain stem stroke 3 yrs ago. ## Actually, Lisinopril is known to be stronger and have more beneficial effect than Enalapril, so it is normal to be given a lower dosage of it. Learn more Lisinopril details here. As to your blood pressure numbers, what else do you to do to lower them? Do you get lots of exercise and make sure not to eat a lot of sodium? ## Yes I'm on a low sodium diet. As far as exercise, I exercise the arm on the stroke side, but am still really unbalanced as far as walking. Thanks for the answer. ## My dr. just changed me from enilapril to lisinopril and plans to reduce the dosage o...

I was diagnosed as diabetic mid-December 2014 and put on Lantus shots and Metformin 500 mg at breakfast and dinner. Does this med harm kidneys or liver or any other bad effects from taking it? Are there metformin pills that are lower in mg? Will I have bad reaction if I stop taking it? ## Hello, Fred! How are you? I understand your concern, but the reality of your situation is that your organs would suffer far more damage if you don't take the medication and keep your blood sugar under control. Yes, there is some slight risks to taking the Metformin, but these problems only happen to a very small percentage of people that take it. However, 100% of the people who have diabetes and don't properly keep it under control will suffer organ damage and complications. Thus, I strongly ur...

This has happened a few times over a month during my sleep. Tonite at a theater after sitting two hours. Extremely painful for 20 minutes. ## Hello, Pan! How are you? I'm very sorry about the cramping. HCTZ stands for Hydrochlorothiazide, which the FDA classifies as a diuretic, so it removes fluid from the body to help treat high blood pressure. So, there are two possible explanations, since the removal of fluid also causes potassium loss, you may be deficient in potassium; or you may be dehydrated if you're not taking in enough fluid to make up for the amount it is removing. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and stomach pain. Have you consulted your doctor? It would be best to do so, to determine the ...

I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies according to what medications they have in stock that I can refer to for you. If you're having that much trouble finding it, you may be better served to speak with your doctor about prescribing an alternative medication, such as Labetalol. It treats the same conditions and the side effects are similar, as listed by the FDA, and may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension and increased urination. I was on Metoprolol XR for 6 months, the most consistent dose was 50 mg once/day. I had many of the common side effects - fatigue, headaches, muscle pain - but the most distressing has been the cold hands and feet along with an intense burning feeling along the nerves in my arms, legs and face. I tapered off over the last month I was on it, but the nerve pain seems worse. I have been completely off the med for only 3 days now. Has anyone experienced this? Does it get better or am I doomed? I'm only 33 with 2 young boys. I would like to be able to enjoy them! ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you had from this medication. Yes, if it was solely due to the Metoprolol, it should go away entirely, but it may take a couple of weeks to fully taper off. Th...
