Its action on the NMDA synaptic receptors could be the cause of many of the most damaging degenerative diseases. Parkinson, Alzheimer, Obesity, ALS, Tinnitus, Meniere's, Eplipsy, Huntington's and several others. The action is the reduction of fluids in the brain tissue increases the glutamate concentrations which have a drastic effect on the glutamate activated synapse. It opens the synapse for Sodium which lowers the voltage and allows Ca+ to attach and results in the death of the nerve. It also creates a whole chain of other similar effects with other neurotransmitters. Taken in massive doses it can have devastating effects. ## If you feel that you hav...
Does Actavis still make Verapamil / Calan in 40mg tablets? ## Actavis has been purchased by Teva Pharmaceuticals, and they produce a 40mg Verapamil with the WATSON logo over the number 404, which is round, and orange. Ref: Teva This likely means that the specific one that was manufactured by Actavis is no longer available. Generally, when one company purchases another, or merges with another, they stop producing the duplicate products, as it is not cost effective to keep manufacturing all of them. What product does your pharmacy have available?
I was having heart palpitations and the dr suggested I see a cardiologist for them. 4 days before I saw her I was having episodes of them along with some chest pain and at one time blue nails. It all subsided now. My pulse rate and BP were good but because heart disease runs in the family she put me on metoprolol 25 mg split in 2 doses and told me to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. It did, so I went to the hospital, had all tests done and everything was normal. They even gave me an angiogram with no problem there, but my pulse continued to fluctuate between the low 40s to 50s. My primary stated she gave you this for heart palpitations and to get off of it now. She did something wrong and she never told me why I needed to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. Th...
What is a white tablet marked on 1 side and nothing on the other side? ## Hello, Ronald! How are you? What is the marking on it? I can't find a listing for anything with just these numbers on it. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## Metoprolol 200 mg for blood pressure ## I agree that it is possibly Metoprolol. However, the official marking contains a logo with a score line and then the number 833 instead of 8333 as far as I can see. (NDC 62037-833) Ref: DailyMed Another possibility is a white tablet with the marking A333 (where the letter A could be misconstrued as the number 8). This tablet does not have a score line on it, and contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen 10/325. (NDC 0228-2983, now discontinued). Which tablet do you have? Does it have a score line?
My BP is always around 120/80 and 130/80 when i used to take Stamlobeta for the past 30 years. Though i do not have symptoms, whenever i check my bp it was showing around 150/90 or 160/90. When asked my doc he said i should continue with the same medicine. Will there be any improvement if i take stamlo 5 mg in addition to this Met XL T 50, of course with the consultation of my physician. I have been taking the Blue oblong tab 180mg from Mylan, I think, for years with no problem (for chronic migraine relief). One time, some years ago, I received a brown tablet and took it back because it did not work and I got a terrible 3 day long migraine attack. I did some research and found out it was because of the dye in it making it brown. So my pharmacist got me the Blue ones and kept them in stock for me. I have moved and recently filled them via mail order pharmacy and they arrived yesterday....brown from Glenmark. Why do the brown ones make me sick and the blue ones work for me just fine? I will need to call the mail order pharmacy and see what I can do about sending these back and getting them filled at a local pharmacy in hopes of getting the blue ones. ## The best thing to ...

I take Norvasc, Amlodipine is the generic. Generics do not always have anything but the main drug ingredient due to patents on the original drug? I have worked with my current Doctor to take it twice a day 12 hours apart. I always had a higher BP reading in AM so I take 5 mg twice a day and if it gets to high I take 7.59 mg and monitor closely. Its working. ## Sorry, I ment to say I take 7.50mgs at 5PM if it is running high. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Amlodipine as possibly including nausea, headache, dizziness, increased urination, and hypote...

As long as my wife has taken Amlodipine, her bp readings always around 120/80 or 130/80. But when she developed ankle edema, my physician stopped that drug and prescribed Cilacar (Clinidipine). Even with that, her bp readings have not come down. So after one month my doc prescribed Metxl 40 mg to be taken in the night. With that drug her diastolic controlled and is showing 75 or 80, but her systolic did not come down.
