So I took my Loestrin inactive pills early to not have my period on the weekend. The last inactive pill I had was Wednesday, and it is now Sunday and I'm still bleeding. I have been taking my pill on time everyday. Any idea what the problem is? ## Hi Jacque, From what I've been told, bleeding on these pills is very common; and may just require an adjustment period for your body to get used to the medication. It will stop eventually (but some users report the abnormal bleeding lasting as long as a few months). One product review I came across, states the following: "I'm on the generic for Loestrin, I'm nearly finished with my second pack, and halfway into it I began bleeding and did so for about a week at varying degrees of severity." I hope this info helps! ## Th...

So I have been on lo estrin 24 for over a year. On my last pack i got my period a week and a half before i was supposed to start the brown pills. I continued and finished the pack as usual and started the next one as scheduled. On day 2 of taking the active pills again the condom slipped. We caught it before anything happened. I still panicked (after reading info on pre ejaculate) and took First Choice a day and a half later. Am i still protected after only 2 days of use? ## If you haven't missed any tablets and have only had placebo weeks where you had the withdrawal induced menstrual cycle, then you are always protected. There is no break in protection, even during your period week, as long as you've not missed any of the active pills. Learn more oral contraceptive details her...

I've been taking Sprintec for about 2 years now. I always take them around the same time everyday. Last week my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (late Saturday night). The same day I took my last blue pill. I usually start my period 4 days after I take my last blue pill. Is there a possibility I might be pregnant? It's been 6 days and I haven't even started spotting yet. ## If taken correctly, without missing any tablets, hormonal based oral contraceptives are over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, which means they are very reliable, but yes there is that small possibility that you could still get pregnant, though it's very small. Learn more Sprintec details here. That said, it can also be normal to have an irregular menstrual cycle, or skip it entirely, while yo...

I am taking Natazia birth control, which has: 2 dark yellow tablets each containing 3 mg estradiol valerate, 5 medium red tablets each containing 2 mg estradiol valerate and 2 mg dienogest, 17 light yellow tablets each containing 2 mg estradiol valerate and 3 mg dienogest, 2 dark red tablets each containing 1 mg estradiol valerate, 2 white tablets. My question is, can I get pregnant if I have intercourse while on the medium red tablets? ## No, as long as you take them every day, as you should, then you are protected against pregnancy for the entire month, regardless of which tablets you are taking.

I am 2 weeks late for my period so I went to the doctor. They checked me out and did a pregnancy test which was negative. I did 4 at home which were all negative as well. My doctor then prescribed me birth control (Sprintec) to help me regulate my period... So I can start it... My question is, since I haven't gotten my period and it's not Sunday, do I start the blue pills first still or take the white to help get my period? Idk... Please help. ## The pills that you take the week you are supposed to get your menstrual cycle do not contain any active ingredients and will not help you get your period. They are placebo pills and usually cause bleeding due to breakthrough bleeding, since it is a week off of the hormones in the other pills. That said, you do not have to start these on...

My doctor put me on lo loestin fe to regulate my cycle and help with bad cramping...in the 1st week i experienced extreme nausea, fatigue mood swings and gained 8 pounds! I am standing up in a wedding on the 14th of September and was concerned at the rate I was going I would not fit into the dress so i asked if i should stop and start up after the wedding. She said it would be okay since i only took it for a week and it would be out of my system rather quickly. Just today I have been jumpy, anxious, extremely hungry, having a pounding headache and very emotional. Is this the side effects of the synthetic hormones leaving my body? anything i can do? i am trying to cope. ## Judging from the side effects, it does sound like your hormones are unbalanced from taking the Loestrin Fe. If you...

Posted this as a reply by accident to another post. Here is my question: I had my period last week from roughly Tuesday-Friday. I was just prescribed Tri-Sprintec today (the Wednesday after my period finished). I have taken it before in the past but didn't keep up with it. I know that it says to start either the Sunday or the first day of my period so my OBGYN said to start it on my next period. Would I be ok to start it now? My main concern presently is not the birth control aspect, but getting used to the hormones ASAP for personal reasons. Is there any harm to starting the pill on what is kind of an arbitrary start date and this much after my period? What might be the side effects? Also- in case it IS ok to start it whenever, when will I be protected (and this is the birth contro...

Was just put on Tri-Lo Sprintec after being on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 10 years... It says you have the option of a Sunday start date, which you start the first Sunday after you start your period unless you start your period on Sunday - in which case you take it the same day. I started my period on Sunday, but didn't pick up my prescription until Tuesday. Can I still start this coming Sunday, or do I now have to wait a month? ## Well, really if you were just switching from one prescription to another, you shouldn't have had any gap in taking it, you should have just continued with the new pill in place of the old one. Otherwise, since you've now had a gap, I am not certain if they will want you to wait a month or just start on Sunday. Have you consulted your doctor? They wil...

My Dr. prescribed me Dronis 30 tablet for my early menopause can u pls tell me is this safe? and she told me to take this tablet for 6 months . Is this effective? ## Dronis 30 is a hormonal based oral contraceptive, so basically your doctor gave it to you to help rebalance the hormones in your body and regulate your menstrual cycle, while you are experiencing perimenopause. I started Lo Loestrin FE for heavy bleeding. I'm on third month but I messed up and was trying not to get a period at all so I was only taking the green pills, none of the white or brown. Into the second week of pack 3 my breasts started getting really sore and now I started bleeding and have been bleeding for 6 days. Dr. says continue on pack 3 and take ALL pills and then start pack 4 and hopefully that will correct itself. Does anyone know how long the bleeding will go on? Its not break through bleeding, it is a period flow. ## It's still considered break through bleeding, it all is, when you take hormonal contraceptives, you don't get a regular/real cycle at all. It may take a week or longer, but if you finish another pack and there is no change, then you should contact y...

Hello again, I just finished my taking my first seven pills (first week of first pack). When will I be officially protected? ## I assume you're referring to an oral contraceptive? If so and it's the traditional combination pills, then yes, you are protected after 7 days of taking active pills. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. If you started them while you were experiencing your menstrual cycle, on the first day, then you were protected immediately. Are there any other questions?

I've been taking tri sprintec for one month now and I've started my cycle on the 3rd white pill. should I continue taking the rest of the white pills or start my new pack? ## You are supposed to finish the week of the white pills and then start the new pack of pills, when they are finished. They are placebo pills that intended to cause the withdrawal bleed. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Didn't your doctor provide you with any information?

So about a month and a half ago, my period came late. I had had unprotected sex on a day I was likely ovulating and, while I never took a pregnancy test, I am convinced I was pregnant and miscarried. I was pregnant before (it also ended in miscarriage), so I am familiar with the feeling. Because I had miscarried, I expected my next period to be late or a little off (my period did indeed start a few days later than I'd thought it would). Then I started taking Loestrin FE. I have been on it for nearly two weeks and have been bleeding the entire time. It's very, very light and painless, but continuous enough to be annoying. My main concern is that the irregularity may be coming from an incomplete miscarriage rather than a side effect of the pills. Other than this irregularity I'...

So i am going to finish my latest pack of loestrin 24 fe and i wanted to delay my next month's period by a week. Would waiting a exactly a week after my regular start date, to start my next pack be okay? if so, would i have to use back up protection the whole month or just until a week after using active pills? ## You would just need a back up form of contraception for the first week of taking active pills.. Alternatively, if you can pick up an extra pack of pills, rather than skipping a week, you could just continue taking active pills and skip the inactive ones that would induce your menstrual cycle. oval beige colour ## what side effects are there if taking t5 slimming capsules and can they interact with being on the pill ## This is an over the counter weightloss supplement, not a prescription medication. For side effects, please refer to the packaging and as to reacting with other medications, since this is not a prescription medication, these studies are not done, so there is no way to know. ## I am on the Qlaira contraceptive pill and want to use Kangmei sliming products. Will this work against the pill. It has all natural ingrediants. There are also captuls that are natural. Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi all - I just started taking Sprintec, I had previously been on YAZ but when the generic brand came out Kaiser made me switch to that, had tons of weight gain and moodiness so I switched to Sprintec. When I was on YAZ I was able to skip my period...basically I would just not take the "sugar" pills and go straight to the next pack of birth control. I was wondering if anyone else has done this with Sprintec and if their doctors recommended it or not. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks! ## Have you consulted your doctor? You should check with them, in most cases, unless there are certain medical reasons, it isn't necessary to have your period more than a few times a year. I am not, however, familiar with this pill, so I am not sure what tablets you'd skip to enable you...

Okay so I'm about to have to get real personal here for a second. But the way my birth control works out I would have just have gotten off of my period the next time I get to be with my boyfriend (if you know what I mean). I haven't seen him in a few months and I want it to be all clear for when I get to see him. So my plan was to take the placebo pills a week earlier than I'm suppose to just to be extra sure that everything will be all good. Is that an okay thing to do??? I feel like it should be because I would still be taking the right number of pills just mix up when I take the placebos but my boyfriend is worried that it would mess something up. SO is there anybody who can give me advice on this? It would be greatly appreciated ^-^ Thanks ## Yes, you'd still be prot...

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about 2 years now. My doctor instructed me to not take the last 3 days of white pills, but still take the 4 iron pills at the end of the pack. I had unprotected sex on the last day of the iron pills, and started a new pack on Sunday. Should I be worried about being pregnant? ## No, the ones he's having you skip are inactive tablets that don't have hormones in them, so at long as you've taken all of the other active tablets, then you should still be protected against pregnancy, even on the days you're taking the iron tablets. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. If you have concerns, then feel free to contact your doctor and ask for more information. Is there anything else I can help with?
