I know that it says it's not effective after 5 years but I figured if I was not having a period then it must be working... ## I had Mirena coil for six years. Agree with your reasoning about how it must still be effective if still not bleeding (unless you're now menopausal?), but, I believe in the wisdom of the body so if suddenly you're cramping, and it's meant to be replaced after 5 yrs, I'd just get it done. I had began to spot-stain tiny bit; also premenstrual aches last 3 mónths. It was not uncomfortable to have it removed, and I had a new one put in straight away. ## Just to add some information for anyone else reading this... ...
I've been on Lo Loestrine FE for about a two years. I originally got on the medicine primarily because I had extremely painful periods, and I've noticed that if I take the white and brown pills at the end of the month, I don't experience any bleeding, but I still get horrible cramps, so I've taken to skipping the white and brown pills altogether. Is this okay? I'm not experiencing any side effects, I'm just concerned that it's not healthy. Also, I was wondering about the risk of pregnancy while on this pill. I have unprotected sex fairly regularly--I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but how likely is it? ## Hi I am also on the same BC as you and my doctor told me that I DO NOT have to take the brown and white pills that if I just continue onto the next pack of...
pls tell me tablet to avoid periods this month as i am travelling during my due date ## Hi hajira, To my knowledge there aren't any pills to delay something that naturally occurs as a result of being a woman. While there are certain medications that can cause irregular periods as a side effect, I don't think there's any way of truly knowing when or how often they can delay or change your typical period dates and it's probably not worth the risk. Does anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions on this? ## Unfortunately, there really isn't anything you can take that will guarantee that you completely skip this month. If you'd seen a doctor ahead of time, you could probably have tried an oral contraceptive, so you could use it to skip your menstrual cycle, while o...
Do I need to take Angelique with meals or at certain time of the day? ## No, not necessarily, but taking it will food may help minimize some of the side effects it can cause, such as nausea and dizziness. And you should try to take it around the same time each day, basically keeping each dose as close to 24 hours apart as possible. Are there any other questions I can help with? Learn more Angeliq details here. ## Will I put on weight taking these pills?
I started my period thursday of last week and it was suppose to stop yesterday but it is still bleeding pretty badly and today is monday. When will this stop? ## Hi Audrey, Are you currently taking any medications, (such as birth control) that might be attributing to the severity of your period? From what I've heard, it is rather common for periods to last as long as a couple weeks. This may be due to a number of reasons (diet, hormones, stress, anxiety, etc), but I would recommend going in to see a gynecologist at your convenience, if it doesn't subside within the next week. I hope this info helps! ## Yes, I am taking Lo Loestrin Fe. Your info was very helpful and informing.. Greatly appreciated !
This is my first time taking birth control. My doctor gave this kind to me just to start with then told me to switch to sprintec the next month. I started the pack the first sunday after getting my period as my doctor instructed, and I just finished week 3. I do not know if i should take these last seven pills or just switch to sprintec tomorrow? I am also worried about taking the last two brown pills next weekend because my boyfriend is coming down to georgia from new jersey for valentines day weekend and i realllllllllllllly don't want to get my period! Also these past three weeks I have been bleeding quite a bit even after finishing my period and it has been brown and quite heavy. is this normal? ## Hi Lexi, Are the last 7 pills your placebo/sugar pills (the ones you take the wee...
Hi, I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 9 months, and most always skip my placebos in order to avoid my period, continuing on to the next pack appropriately. I didn't do that this past month, allowing myself to get my period this week. I resumed my pills yesterday. I had unprotected sex last night, and took my second pill of the pack today. Should I be concerned because I was off the pill (during placebo pill week) for the first time in a while? I worry that because my body is used to having these hormones every day, and then this week I stopped them for my period week, that I could be at risk. Want to know if I should take the morning after pill. Thank you so much for insight! ## You are still protected, even if you take the placebo tablets and have your menstrual cycle, it is really...
I have been taking Lo Lo for 6 or 7 months. And I often get bleeding in the middle of the month in addition to when I am suppose to get my period at the white and brown pills. or I will bleed during the month and then skip when I am supposed to have it (again at the white and brown pills). this is still happening after 6 or 7 months of using it. I think it may have to do with the fact that I live an international back and forth life style with an 8 hour time difference. every time i fly I change when I take the pill so theoretically my body won't know the difference. for example: in the states I take my pill at 10am in england I take it at 6pm. so i am accounting for the 8 hour difference. by doing this i was hoping to not throw my body off as much. but i think it still is. Is my tr...
i want to stop my pregnancy for two years which medicine is good for me . ## There are oral contraceptive pills that you can take daily and then stop, when you wish to be able to become pregnant. However, not everyone can safely take them, so you'll need a health exam and some tests, before they can be prescribed. You also have to remember to take them daily, as missing any can result in pregnancy. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. There are also intrauterine devices that can be implanted by a doctor to prevent pregnancy. They are usually effective for several years and can be removed, when you are ready to get pregnant. Again, this is something you'd need to see a doctor to have done. Learn more IUD details here. I'm not a doctor, so I can't say which would be...

Ive been on Sprintec for over a year. I am still on the blue pills but last Friday (9 days ago) I started bleeding. I didnt have the symptoms of what usually happens with my period. Ive never missed a pill and have always started on the Wednsday in the white pills. I dont start the white pills until today. Should i contact my dr? ## Yes, it's always best to contact your doctor to be on the safe side, however, it is normal for your menstrual cycle to be unusual, when taking hormonal contraceptives, due to any type of changes that may affect your body, such as stress, insomnia, weight changes and etc. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been on Sprintec 28 for 4 months now and my "periods" are so out of wack. This month I bled the whole first week of the month,...
I started the bill 2 weeks ago the last day of my cycle. In the first week I forgot to take a pill and didn't take it the next day, I just resumed with the next pill. I also missed a pill in week two. I just stopped taking the pill the begining of week 3. Will i get pregnant? Will my period come? Is the pill even in my system? Thanks ## If you've missed pills and stopped taking them, then no, it is not in your system and you are not protected against pregnancy. For them to prevent pregnancy, you have to take one every day, exactly as directed. Learn more oral contraceptive information here. Are there any other questions? ## ,hi im icar i just want t0 kn0w,what will happen i start taking daphne on Nov 23, i just st0p taking daphne pills on january 10,and i still dnt have my menst...
I have been on Mo Loestrin for almost 2 months so I know my body is still getting used to it. I have been on my period/spotting for 8 days now this past month. The first month was about the same maybe a bit longer and I still got my period when your supposed to at the end of the pill pack... Is 8 days normal for some girls and i just need to wait it out another month or 2? ## From what I've been told (by my gf), it is actually quite common to experience periods that last as long as even a week & a half to two weeks. Also, birth control in and of itself can take up to a few months for your body to become more accustomed/used to having it. During this time frame I'd imagine that your body would be more susceptible to certain side effects. So I would definitely recommend waitin...
I have been using Estra-Noreth 1.0/0.5mg for about 6 months for menopause symptoms. I have not had a period since starting this medication. I missed two days dosage & my period started. Is this because I missed my dosage? ## Yes, this is really just a hormonal contraceptive, except you take it constantly, rather than taking a week off. The way they work is that a withdrawal period induces your menstrual cycle, so that's what you did by missing a couple of doses. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## I have been taking estra-noerth 1.0/0.5 for about a month because of hot flashes and other menopause symptoms. I have not had a period for two years now i have noticed spotting. Is this normal? ## I've been on Estra Noreth 1...
I take angeliq daily - I made a mistake and started this months pack at the wrong end.and i have just realised after 11 days. What should I do now? ## There is no different in the dosage of the tablets from one day to the next, unlike some hormonal contraceptives, so you can just continue without any problems and there's no need to worry. They are only packaged that way to try to help people remember to take one each day to try to avoid them missing any doses, but it really doesn't matter which end of the pack you start from or even if you'd start in the middle. Learn more Angeliq details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## thank you that is good
purple plastic pic with blue powder inside ## Hi Nikki, Is there an imprint of any kind on this capsule? The reason I ask is because U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have unique letters or numbers (sometimes in addition to a logo of some kind) imprinted on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance, and dosage. If you can give me any additional information, it will make it much easier for me to Identify this pill for you. Thanks!
I started my period November 25, 2012 and it lasted till November 27, 2012. I started birth control on Novemeber 25, 2012.. I haven't gotten my period since, I should've started December 23, 2012, but it never came. I've been told this is normal, but now it's January 22, 2013 and still no period.. Should I be concerned? I'm gettin worried, help! ## Hi Ellie, Birth control can definitely be complicated, I wouldn't be worried though. From what I've researched, it isn't harmful for your body to not go through the menstrual cycle once in a blue moon, or for it to be delayed. However, if this were to happen on a regular basis it's definitely something you would want to discuss with your Gynecologist. I would give your body another week to adjust and sort i...
Hi, I'm currently on my third month of taking Excluton. But I missed my period for this month. Is it normal? Is it possible to get pregnant? I just gave birth last May and im not yet ready to have another child. Im confused & afraid at the same time. Pls help... ## This is a hormonal based contraceptive, so it can be normal to miss your menstrual cycle, while taking it, as a matter of fact, such irregularities are well known to occur during the first 3 months of taking it, as your body gets used to the medication. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. However, if you've taken them all, as directed, and not missed any, then no you don't have to worry about getting pregnant. Did you miss any pills?
sir iam having pcod(both ovaries in normal size). The doctor advised me to take krimson-35.The problem is i have taken krimson on yesterday on 9.00 pm and today on 12 pm is that really a problem ,is it necessary to take on time. please tell me my period comes or not ## Krimson 35 is a hormonal based contraceptive, it is often used in cases of PCOD, because rebalancing your hormones can help alleviate the symptoms. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. It doesn't have to be taken at the exact same time each day, but you should try to keep it as close as possible to being only 24 hours apart, for the best results. Are there any other questions?
I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about 5 years now and i absolutely love it. Hardly ever get my period and craziness/mood swings definitely at a minimal. However, I stopped taking it because I lost my job and didn't have insurance and I just got my period for the first time since being off of it and I am bleeding through super tampons almost every hour. Will this seriously only last for 5 days because It feels like it will never stop. and will my periods be like this every time?? ## Yes, it could be due to stopping the contraceptives, since your body has to rebalance your hormone levels. However, it's difficult to say how long it will last and it it will happen again. It all depends on your body and how fast it adjusts. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Have you con...
