I'm a 22 year old healthy female, and I'm afraid my mood swings and depression are worse than ever before. My boyfriend of two years seems more distant than ever, and I think it is all my fault. I am normally the most laid-back, happy, goofiest person I know, I eat healthy, exercise regularly and have a low-stress job and lifestyle. I live on my own and support myself completely. My problem is during the 1-2 weeks before my period I turn into an absolute nightmare. My mom, best friend, and boyfriend all know exactly when it happens and say I become a completely different person. During those days I can not make myself happy no matter how hard I try, I pick apart...
I posted in here a couple of weeks ago. I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe a month and a half ago, and bled for two straight weeks. I was also getting bladder infection after bladder infection, so I took antibiotics for it. Well, I only took them for two days (not a smart move on my part), then three days after that I had unprotected sex (also probably not a smart move on my part). I followed your advice and took a generic Plan B pill 26 hours after, and I haven't bled at all since then. I'm also still within the first three months of Lo Loestrin Fe and I've been told by my doctor that bleeding (or lack thereof) can be unpredictable. Still, the worry of pregnancy still lingers. Would there still be a high chance even after I took the pill? Should I take a pregnancy test as soon...
I have been taking the triaprintec pills now since I had my son 6 weeks after my pp visit, which about a bout 6 1/2 months ago, I had my regular period every month from the 7th-12th, and my period was due the 7th but I've not gotten it yet I've taken all my white pills and started the first row of blue in a new pack should I stop taking the new pack I started til I get my period because I took a pregnancy test and it was negative this happened once before so if I've not started by tomorrow I may call my obgyn ## This is a hormonal based contraceptive, so it may cause you to skip your cycle, once in awhile and it is really nothing to worry about. And no, you shouldn't stop taking them, that will stop your being protected from pregnancy. By all means, if you're concern...
My gyno prescribed me Lo Loestrin Fe for my bad cramps and somewhat irregular periods. I reacted badly to my old birth control (made me a suicidal maniac and also made me puke every day), so he decided to have me give this a try. Well I decided to stop about 3/4 through the first pack, because I developed a very bad URI, which I suspected came from the pill after looking it up. I also was bleeding every day. They day after I stopped taking the pill, I got my period. At least I think it was. I bled for about 7 to 8 days. I ended my period on February 23rd. Here it is, April 8th, and I STILL haven't gotten my period. I normally get them every 4 weeks or so. I took 3 pregnancy tests, and all came back negative. Would it be possible to skip a period even after not even completing a full...
I just started taking birth control for the first time, I want to change the time I take the pill at. How do I do this without risking anything? Right now I take it at 12 pm and I have been consecutive for 8 days (just finished week 1 of my first pack), I want to change the time to say.... 9 am.. how do I go about this? ## So, instead of at lunch, you want to take it a few hours earlier? That's close enough that you can do that and it won't make a difference, just take it earlier one day. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Feel free to double check with your doctor, but there really should be no problem, at all. Are there any other questions? ## Just one more question, yes, my doctor told me that I Should be protected after one week of taking lo lestrin fe. My question ...
I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 6 months.Recently, when I refilled my prescription, they gave me Loestrin 24 Fe instead. I had to go out of state and couldn't get to a pharmacy, so I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a week now. I finally got a pack of the correct pills, but I'm worried about the consequences of switching types mid-pack. I don't want to make it less effective. ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist has specified some reason why it cannot be done, most birth control tablets can just be smoothly switched from one to the other, without any decrease in effectiveness. However, any hormonal fluctuations are a different story and could result in spotting, cramping, irritability and etc. for a few days. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. You should definit...
I started taking my Sprintec on a Tuesday(for the first time), but it was the Tuesday after my period was over. I did not know how I was supposed to take this birthcontrol. I usually have a 28 day cycle but I am 2 days late. I am now going on my third white pill. Will the birthcontrol delay my period because of how I took it, will it affect my cycle now? Help! ## Relax, it is completely normal to have some irregularities when you are new to taking hormonal contraceptives. Now, the first question is, when you started it, did you use extra protection for the first 7 days? If you didn't and you were sexually active that first week, then you may be pregnant. If you don't start it on the first day of your period, then it takes 7 days to reach its full efficacy level in your body to p...
I have been taking Sprintec for a year now, and I was late scheduling my yearly check-up and there for cannot get anymore pills until I meet when my doctor several days from now. I was wondering how long it takes for the birth control to fully leave the system, and if I should stop having unprotected sex?
Updated in SprintecHi my dr gave me meds to start my period because I ha surgery to have one of my Fallopian tubes removed and cysts removed and hadn't had a period since. Once I started bleeding I started taking ortho tri cyclen lo and that started 2 an a half weeks of heavy bleeding. So he switched me to lo estrin I've been on it for two weeks and I'm bleeding through 2 pads during the day and one at night I stopped the pill on my own because I got scared of all the bleeding. The problem is the bleeding hasn't stopped its actually getting worse. It's the weekend so I can't go to my dr till tomorrow at the earliest just wondering if anyone thinks I should do a catch up and go ahead and take the two pills I didn't take. I just want the bleeding to stop I want to have a regular ...

Perhaps a few of their posts can help offer some insight into managing your own situation: Discuss/want-to-fall-pregnant-but-have-been-using-nur-isterate-as-contraceptive-224955.htm From what others have stated, I think ...
Hi. I started Angelique 2 weeks ago. My last period was in Nov 2012. At the moment I am getting terrible headaches, Anxiousness, Heart Palpitations and like period pains by my ovaries. Is this normal? Kind regards Dawn ## Hi Dawn, I've heard that it can take up to three months to really know how if the birth control you are taking is doing its job and working with your body, but everyone is different of course and sometimes you can tell early on. I had a similar experience with birth control, I was on Seasonique and it was working great, then the insurance company decided that they didn't want to cover brand names so I got switched to a generic; without notice. I experienced all the same issues as well as horrible acne within a short period of time. I didn't realize what was...
I went to the clinic and i was given an all white contraceptive pill. I want to know if they work the same as the most common mixed (red and white). Thank you ## Hi Fudua, Do you what brand it was that they had given you? Only asking because I think it really depends on the brand/generic or manufacturer you're comparing it with. In general they all work very similarly for the same purpose, but many of these oral contraceptives have a variation of pink, blue, brown, and/or white pills in their blister packets; each with active or inactive ingredients. So it would be difficult to determine how each one might affect you until you actually take them. More often than not I see posts stating that the brands are better than the generics, but these types of medications can affect each perso...
I used to get my periods regularly until i got married. After my marriage on the third month i skipped my periods so i consulted a doctor next month got regestrone5mg tablets prescibed and i used it, got my periods. Again this month i didnt get my periods. Should i keep using those tablets every month? ## will my periods get preponed if i use regestrone 5 mg ## Cyn, do you take any other medications regularly, such as hormonal contraceptive tablets, or anything else? While it harmful to miss your menstrual cycle, you really need to get to the root of why you are missing it. Learn more menstrual cycle details here. Gayatri, it may help you to postpone them, but since it is a hormone, there's really no way to be certain that it will, since everyone's body can react differently. Le...
So I am going home next this friday through sunday but I am supposed to be on my period that weekend. I would like to not have this problem seeing as I am in a long distance relationship and barely get to see my boyfriend. I only have one blue pill left so I was wondering if I could just skip it and let myself have a period? Mine usually only three days. Also If I did this I would be able to start taking the blue pill on the Saturday that I am home and still with my boyfriend. Thanks for the advice:) ## Unless your doctor says that there is some medical reason why you shouldn't, you could just keep taking active pills and skip your cycle entirely this month. Many women do that, when taking oral contraceptives at times having their period would be inconvenient and there is really no ...
Can anyone help me identify a little green pill with the markings KH-2 on one side and the name Organon on the other. Is this Morphine? I'd really appreciate it! ## Generic Name: desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol Pill imprint KH 2 ORGANON has been identified as Cyclessa inert. (inert means it is the pills you take while on birth control that are a placebo to keep you on an appropriate menstruation cycle). NDC: 66993-0615 (Discontinued) Manufacter: Prasco Laboratories Cyclessa is used in the treatment of birth control. It is also used in the following: abnormal uterine bleeding; gonadotropin inhibition; endometriosis; polycystic ovary syndrome. ## Well, it is definitely NOT Morphine, nor any type of narcotic. This is actually an inactive birth control pill from a package called Mircette...
I had the mirena inserted in early February and bled heavily for the first 3 weeks. That has slowed down to a very slight spotting and not really bothersome. But now I'm dealing with this horrible metallic smell. Its so strong I can smell it all throughout the day. I'm taking multiple showers a day. I saw my doctor 10 days ago and mentioned the smell. She said it was just the blood and to douche. Well I have douched 3 times and there is no change in the smell. I've been reading lots of forums and find I'm not alone. I was thinking of trying the rephfresh...... Thoughts on this? My real concern is this, and i have not ben able to find anything on this: I'm wondering if my doctor gave me an infection when she inserted it..... During the procedure, she was havibg troubl...
I currently have an IUD, Mirena, I was just prescribed, Dicloxacillin. I am wondering what are the side effects for these two mixed medications. Does the Dicloxacillin interfere with the IUD? ## In most cases, the reason that antibiotics alter the efficacy of contraceptives is due to their effect on how fast your body absorbs and processes the oral forms. Basically, they can make them run through your digestive system much faster, so less is absorbed and active in the body, which increases your risk of becoming pregnant. Thus, most aren't known to do that with an IUD, since you aren't swallowing and digesting the hormone, instead its being absorbed right into your uterus. However, for added peace of mind, I'd still suggest using a backup method of contraception, just to be o...
I have been taking Jadelle for about 6month now,i lose alot of weight, yea and also irregular mens, for us woman we very particular with things, I don't like what Jadelle has done for me, will have it removed... ## Yes, we are very particular. I am sorry that you have suffered such issues and yes, if the Jadelle has caused it, then you should explore your other options. Losing weight on it is very unusual, though, because hormonal contraceptives usually cause the opposite problem. Learn more Jadelle details here. How soon will you be able to have it removed? ## pliz just tell me how can I regain my weight when jadelle allready taken most of my weight.

I have been on BC for 8 years now yasim, yas, Loestrin Fe 24 and now Lo Loestrin for the past 4 months. I've always had periods, very light but I had them. I was forgetting to take pills regularly throughout the last month, but I always took 2 or 3 when I finally remembered. I did also have unprotected sex with my husband throughout the month. 3 weeks ago I took the white then brown pills to get a period and nothing. So I am over 2 weeks late now, and no real period 3 days ago I had dark brown very, very light spotting for 2 days. During the last 3 weeks with no pills and no period I did also have unprotected sex. Took a pregnancy test last week and it was negative. I read that many women don't get their period on Loloestrin and Loestrin 24 Fe which I have taken before for almos...
