If you take it on the first day of your period, it will provide immediate protection against pregnancy. However, if you start it later in your cycle, you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it will be effective. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello there i got same question I am switching to Nordette from Yasmin pills, I finished my pill a week ago, so tomorrow would be the 7th day but I didnt take anything yet. Eh ang sabi start during the first day of mens but i missed already. What will i do, should i start it tomorrow? 7th day.
HI I am 36 years old married woman with 2 children and have undergone birth control surgery. I have a problem of irregular periods and also were suffering from PCOD. However my periods were timely for last 2 years and recently they are not timely and can be a delayed by more than a month sometimes. Even after taking regesterone tabs( 3 tabsX3 days) there was no menstruation. Please let me know after how many days from completing the course of regestrone tablets the periods are expected? Also what are the remedies for the timely menstruation?
UpdatedI've been on sprintec for about half a year now and never had problems. Recently I missed 2 blue pills and had intercourse within those days and now im spotting a week before the white pills. What does this mean? Do I jump ahead and start the white pills that im supposed to take while on my period? Why did this happen? ## HI, Nisa! That can happen if you miss active pills. When you have your period while taking oral hormonal contraceptives, it is actually called a withdrawal bleed, because it is due to a withdrawal of the hormones. The tablets you take that week are actually just placebos. Thus, by missing pills your body is made to operate as if it is time for the withdrawal bleed to occur and having intercourse those days increased the risk of pregnancy, just an FYI. ….and y...
my last period was on Aug 25. I had sex with my boy friend on 5th September. But he didn't penetrate. I have not got my periods yet! I did home pregnancy test twice after my due date (sept 25) the result was negative! Is there still a chance for pregnancy? plz help me out!!
UpdatedI have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe now for almost 2 years! I do not have a period due to my pill. I very rarely miss a pill. I am started week 3 of this pack. During the end of week 2, I had a little bit of blood only when going the restroom. Just a little on toilet paper for the last few days. I am concerned. Too soon for pregnancy test but I took one anyway at home, it was negative. I don't have any symptoms of anything! What could this be? ## Hello, Brooke! How are you? It could just be due to a natural hormonal shift in your body and adding the hormonal contraceptives on top. It happens that way, sometimes. You should consult your doctor to be certain, but chances are that it's nothing to worry about. How long has it been since you haven't had a period? ## Almost two year...
Hi. I am on sprintec and forgot to take day 9. on day 10, I took 2 blue pills day 9 & 10. On day 11, I took my pill as normal, and now I am bleeding. Its dark in color. Is this normal? I've done this before and don't remember mid cycle bleeding. thanks, ## Hello, Faith! How are you? When you're taking oral contraceptives, your period is actually a withdrawal bleed that's caused by withdrawal of the hormones. Thus yes, anytime you miss a pill or take it late, there is a chance of experiencing bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?
I had jadelle inserted a week ago, and I now have my period. Could this just be my body getting used to the hormones? I was previously on implannon which was great but needed to change to jadelle as I'm in NZ. Are periods after 1 week of insertion normal?? ## Hello, Benny! How are you? Yes, your body has to get used to the hormones and breakthrough bleeding, even a full period, may occur. You may also experience dizziness, headache and weight changes.
Tell me the medicine to take to postpone mensuration and its possible effects? ## Hi Lawal, You may want to contact your gynecologist about trying a hormonal contraceptive approach, since I've heard of many women taking these types of pills in a particular manner in order to alter the timing of their menstrual cycle for major events such as weddings or other obligations. As far as side effects are concerned, this is a risk with pretty much any prescription medication, so it's not something you can completely rule out. However not everyone who takes contraceptives experiences adverse effects from doing so. It's really just one of those things to be on the lookout for if you notice any sudden changes in your mood and/or other bodily functions. I hope this helps answer your que...
I have been taking lo loestin fe for 10 days and I'm an emotional wreck I hear something on the radio or see something on TV and I start crying, I can be laughing and the next second I'm irritated I hate this and I hate this BC I don't know what to do I also get cramps after an hour of taking it. I gained 5 pounds and eat healthy this is insane. Does anyone know of a good BC because this is not working for me ## Hello, Liz! How are you? Those symptoms can be normal side effects of taking OCs and should improve after a few months, once your body adjusts to the new hormonal balance. Do you normally suffer from PMS and mood swings or is it solely due to taking this? What has your doctor advised?
Hi, how are you and thank you for having me post this question. I am a first time contraceptive user and have been given Oralcon by a clinic sister. My question is and as I understand, should I start with the first white pill on the the day of my menstruation and when getting to the first red pill, will that be the start of my next period? This is all very new to me so please excuse the silly but yet important questions. Thanking you. ## Hello, Gia! How are you? Yes, you should start it the first day of your period, that provides immediate protection from pregnancy, since it will prevent ovulation this cycle. And yes, the red tablets are when you will get your next period, though it may not necessarily start when you take the first one, it may actually start a day or so after you start ...
Hello, my doctor just prescribed Sprintec as a replacement for my old pill. I started right after finishing the old pack. Do I need to use a back-up method for the first 7 days ? ## Hello, Amy! How are you? No, if you didn't miss any days, then you should be fine to do a seamless switch. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have been on Gildess 1/20 for 5 months and have had some break through bleeding in the beginning but it went away. I have had bad cramping on my period and in the middle of my pack. I typically take my pill in the morning around 9:00am but last saturday I forgot and took it at 10:00pm but I had already started to bleed by 9:00pm. Its now friday its been a week and I am still bleeding bad. Enough to wear a pad. Its aways worse in the morning and gets less at night. However my cramps are constant. I have no idea what to do? Or whats wrong? Could missing one pill by a couple of hours do this? ## Hello, Kayla! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. It really doesn't sound like this is the right OC for you to take. You should most likely try a different...
I had my implants put in about 4-5 months ago. I've had no periods what so ever while I've had them in. I had intercourse about 5 weeks ago and in the last week or so I've had slight pains, always tired and feel sick and now have light bleeding as well. Is this a sign of pregnancy or is this normal? Is something else wrong?? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? If you're bleeding and have the implants, then there isn't much of a chance that you're pregnant, but you may want to do a test to be sure. Your body may just be adjusting to the hormones and you may be experiencing some side effects. Is there anything else I can help with?
i had the jadelle put in about a few months ago my first period lasted for about 10 days, but this one has lasted me two weeks it was light in the middle but then got real heavy again, plus ive become a complete super b**** and, is it still settling? is it normal? ## Hello, Renee! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. And yes, such side effects can be normal, while your body is adjusting to the hormones in the Jadelle. It may take a few months for things to balance back out and be more normal. However, if the bleeding gets heavier, it would be best to consult your doctor to be sure that all is well. Is there anything else I can help with?
I started tri sprintec back in May. At the beginning of July I stopped taking them for two months and then started again a few weeks ago. I remembered my doctor saying to start the Sunday after your next period. So after my next period, which ended on a Sunday. I started. A few days later I started a second period. This one heavier than normal. And it has been going on for five days now. I'm wondering if this is just because I started and stopped? Or should I be worried. ## Hello, Hope! How are you? They should actually be started the first day of your period, regardless of what day that is, but regardless… Irregular bleeding can be normal, because your body hasn't really had a chance to adjust to the hormones, yet. Especially since you took them for a couple months, then ...
Since having my IUD put in about 1.5 years I have never had a period or any bleeding At all. But just the other day I started bleeding but not very much didn't even last half the dAy. What does this mean should I see my doctor? ## Hello, Nat! How are you? Have you experienced any more bleeding? Some spotting can be normal with the Mirena, it's actually much more rare to not have any bleeding, at all. However yes, it would be best to double check with your doctor to be sure that all is well.
Hi. Could anyone let me know if I did the right thing? Thanks in advance. I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe starting last Sunday, which is also the first day of my period (as advised by my gyno). And I take it exactly at 11:25 am everyday including today. Everything was fine until today after I had lunch, I vomitted forcefully at around 2 p.m., probably due to some food allergy. I checked the instruction and it says if you have diarrhea or vommiting within 3-4 hours after taking the pill, you need to follow "missed pill guide", where it says you need to take the missed pill as soon as possible, then take the next pill at regular time. This really confuses me. Since I do not really miss a pill, there is no pill for me to take. So I went ahead and took the pill that I am suppos...
can I still get prego if my jadelle has been expired for 7 years and still in my arm ## Yes, pregnancy is a possibility. Once the Jadelle has expired, it is no longer releasing the hormone required to prevent ovulation. Why has it not been removed? Are you using any other methods of contraception? ## My rod has been expire for close to 2 months n still in my arm how long will it take for me to get pregnant

UpdatedI have started taking Brenda 35 ed - the pack comes with the white tablets which I never take (but in this pack they ask you to start taking the white tablets on the first day of your cycle when you start a new pack) however I didnt do it, I started taking my pill on my first day of the period with an active tablet - (Normally with other pills you are protected straight away) but with this one it says it takes two weeks, I am just very confused. So I took an active tablet on my first day of my period and been taking active tablets for the last week at the same time. As I said I never take the white tablets as they contain sugar and dont find them necessary can someone tell me if I am intermediately protected when taking active tablet first day of the period? ## Hello, Nana! How are you?...
