I'm a bit confused because am I suppose to wait and take the pill this upcoming sunday, or do I start today? If I do take it today should I start with the blue or white pill in the tuesday or sunday section? ## Hello, Kim! How are you? You should start the first day of your period, with the active tablets, not the period week tablets and just start with the first one in the pack. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I also have been prescribed the pill. I was told to start on a Sunday., no matter when my period started. It happened to start on a sunday. So I started taking the pill. I am still having my period. Is this normal?

Updated in NordetteMy period started on September 27th, 2014. I took the tri-previfem pill today Monday,October 6th, 2014 and accidently skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. 5th. I started taking the first Monday pill today since I missed yesterday, which was Sunday. How should I take the pills now? Should I just take the remaining 1st weeks pills skipping yesterday's pill, which I have not taken and start on the 2nd week's pill starting this Sunday? Will it affect my period and will it still prevent me from getting pregnant? ## Hello, Vicky! How are you? You actually should have started taking them the first day of your period to be immediately protected from pregnancy. Since you started later in your cycle and missed a tablet, you'll need to take the active tablets for a full 7 days, before you wil...

Updated in MiliAm wondering after 10 yrs we no cycle if it will b possible to get pregnant after remove. Havent had any kind of bleeding at all in the 10 yrs ## Hello, Susie! How are you? No, it shouldn't have had any permanent effect on your fertility, but it may take a few month for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own, so you can get pregnant. Once it's removed you may experience hormonal symptoms, such as headache, bloating, PMS, acne and irregular bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?
I need to skip my period this week, and I'm on a triphasic pill: So far I've been told to A) Continue to the next pack and just skip the placebos or B) Continue to the next pack, but take them backwards. What's the best option to minimize breakthrough bleeding and minimize f***ing with my system? I'm under 35, I do not smoke, I'm in good health, and do not have any other risk factors for blood clots. I've never done this before, but I've been on birth control for several years. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! ## Hello, Depending on who or where you received your initial advice from as far as what you've been told to do, it seems like a gynecologist who specializes in the health of the female reproductive systems would probably know best. Their exper...

My period started on September 27th. I took the Tri-Previfem pill today Monday,October 6th and accidentally skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. IF you are just starting the pills, then you actually should have taken the first one on the first day of your period. When taken that way, they are immediately effective at preventing pregnancy. However, since you started them later in your cycle, you'll nee...
I'm on an antibiotic to get rid of my UTI. I don't start my white pill until tomorrow but I'm bleeding now. I've been on sprintec for almost 4 months now and my period usually happens the sencind it third day if the white pills. Is something wrong? And should I take my blue pill today? ## Hello, Grace! How are you? Some antibiotics lower the efficacy of oral contraceptives by reducing the amount of estrogen that you absorb. Thus, your body is reacting just like it would during your period week and don't take any hormones. You should continue taking them all, just as you normally do and use a backup method of protection, until you've finished your course of antibiotics and have taken 7 active tablets in a row after finishing them, which means no unprotected interc...

Updated in YasminI switched from a different type of pill to Minastrin this month. This is Saturday at the end of my first pack and I have had no period at all. Is this common with this pill? I know it supposed to make period lighter, but I need some kind of indication every month that I'm not pregnant! ## Hello, Matilda! How are you? If you haven't missed any pills, then there shouldn't be any reason to worry about being pregnant and yes, some women don't have periods, while taking oral contraceptives. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, bloating and weight gain. If you really aren't comfortable skipping your period, then you might need to switch, again. Is there anything else I can help with?
does this cause added weight gain or acne ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Those are both possible side effects of any hormonal contraceptive, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, irregular bleeding and bloating. And please make sure not to miss taking any of the active tablets, because that will increase your risk of pregnancy. Are there any other questions or concerns?
1st month taking microgestin fe 1/20, Bleeding heavy for 8days ,my usual period only last up to 5 days. I have 4brown pills left ,should I stop taking the pills or continue ? ## Hello, Silky! How are you? Since this is a hormonal based contraceptive, irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to the hormonal change. If it continues past 3 months, then it might not be the right one for you and you may need to switch to a different OC. Other side effects may include nausea, headache and mood swings. However, you should continue taking them, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much for your response, the bleeding stopped after 9days, your reply was very reassuring. I just starte...
I had my implanon / nexplanon put in last month in September. I recently have been prescribed bactrim/ sulfamethoxazole. does this make my rod less effective and my chances of becoming pregnant higher? I had unprotected sex last night, but took a sulfamethoxazole pill two nights ago. What are my chances.
Updated in ImplanonHi everyone. 10 days into this pill pack I started having breakthrough bleeding which lasted for 10 days. It wasn't normal at all... it was just brown "discharge" (sorry TMI) and nothing ever heavy enough to soak a pad or use a tampon. On October 2nd I took my last pill in my pack for Lo Loestrin Fe because I decided to discontinue use from here on out because I don't want to be on birth control anymore. It's now October 16th and I still haven't got my period, or any signs or symptoms of it coming. I took 2 pregnancy tests (a week apart from each other) and they were both negative. I'm not sure what's going on or if Lo Loestrin makes you skips period even after discontinued use but I'm a little concerned as to what's going on if i'm having neg...
Hi. so, i took two blue pills by accident today. Not really sure what i was thinking.I was distracted and took both saturday ans sunday. my question is what do i do? should i worry about overdosing? I only weigh 95 pounds. does that matter? should i not take a pill tomorrow? or continue like normal, taking a pill on sunday? ## Hello, Nat! How are you? You're not going to overdose on 2 pills, unless your doctor sees some reason to be concerned. But as an emergency contraceptive, women can actually take multiples, at once, to prevent pregnancy. As to what to do, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, it would probably be easiest to just continue taking one a day and just start your period a day early. Is there anything else I can help with?
This is my second pack of triprevifem and I didnt skip my period last month. But right now im on my 2nd pack and week of placebos and I havent started. I was suposed to start monday and its tuesday. I might be pregnant but I hope not. Am I pregnant or is my period a little late? Is it normal to skip a period? ## Hello, Casi! How are you? I understand your concern and am happy to help! It is normal to sometimes skip your period, when taking oral contraceptives and is usually nothing to worry about, unless your doctor thinks otherwise. As long as you didn't miss any tablets, you aren't likely to be pregnant. But missed periods, irregular bleeding and spotting can all be side effects of hormonal contraceptives. Is there anything else I can help with?
My doctor put me on lo loestrin fe 1-10 because my cycle was lasting 10-15 days for about 2yrs. I am 41 and before I was 3-5 days at the most. I have been taking the pill for five months. The 1st pack I had the 10-15 day cycle. The 2nd pack I had a 8 day cycle with a little spotting 1week later. The 3 pack I had 2 full days & 2 spotting days. The 4th pack I didn't have a cycle not even spotting. On 5th pack now & still nothing. My doctor said the pills should regulate my cycle but last 2 month I haven't had a cycle. Since teen years I have always had a cycle. The only time it stopped was during pregnancy & depo shot (stopped taking at 25). Is this normal? ## Hello, Nay! How are you? Some women don't have periods, while taking this oral contraceptive and it's ...
Last period was on Apr 21st. Started Minastrin 24 Fe on Apr 25. Bled for 22 days straight. Stopped taking pill on May 19th. No real period since. Has anyone had issues like this? Help please? ## Hello, Lor! How are you? Have you had a period, yet? The bleeding like that can be normal, when you first start a hormonal contraceptive, such side effects usually last about 3 months, or so and taking it for a bit, then abruptly stopping, could throw your hormones off balance, so your cycle could be off. ## I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MINASTRIN 24 FE MADE ME BLEED FOR 25 DAYS. CALL YOUR PHYSICIAN, AND STOP USING IT.
i was using a contraceptive injection of 3 months for and i stopped it between the months and its been 2 years now and i have not been on my periods, i even forget when is my cycle.
