I'm 17 years old and I've been taking my birth control perfectly for a little over a month now. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex last week, but he did not finish inside me. Yesterday, a light brown pink discharge came out after I went to the bathroom and wiped. Today, I have light cramps and I'm bleeding like I'm on my regular cycle. I have read places that this could be a sign of early pregnancy, but I feel like I'm on my normal period?? I have also been applying for multiple jobs and my family life is not the best, so could this also be stress? I just want to know what the next step is, so I can stop freaking out about this. Thanks.

I've been on Nexplanon for about 6 or 7 months now and I just started antibiotics this past week. I had a condom break during intercourse, should I take Plan B? Is it okay to take it while on Nexplanon? ## Hello, Whitisme! How are you? Antibiotics are not known to reduce the efficacy of Nexplanon. It uses a form of progesterone to prevent pregnancy. When antibiotics cause issues with contraceptives, it's usually the oral ones that contain estrogen, as well as a progesterone. Antibiotics can cause you to absorb less of the estrogen, which may nullify their efficacy. You can research this via the NIH. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hey there! This is my first time on birth control. I've decided to go with Loestrin Fe. I started my period at 2am on a Monday, but didn't take it until 10:30 that night. It was twenty hours after I started, not 24, so it's okay! Anyway, I've been on my period the entire time. I started on April 7th and it's April 15th today. Before birth control, my period lasted six days. It's my eighth day and I'm still bleeding. Is this breakthrough bleeding and my body getting adjusted to the pill? Just making sure! I've taken the pill every night at 10:30pm so I haven't missed one. Thanks! ## Hello, Kaitlyn! How are you? Are you still experiencing bleeding? Yes, it could be due to the contraceptive, since you just started it. However, if it keeps going as a full...

I took the mtprost kit on april 24th, as I had an unwanted pregnancy. It's 2 week's later and I had unprotected sex with my husband. He did not ejaculate, but we fear premature ejaculation as I fell pregnant in April that way. I've taken the 72hr emergency contraceptive, but will it be effective and will I have complications as it's so soon after using mtprost kit? I also had a lot of pain during sex and started bleeding more after. It's 1 day later and I still have pain. Is it normal?

i was using nordette 21pills and i want to change it to trust pills coz i feel i was gaining weight on my pills i was taking which is nordette. i was thinking how to change it and when i was starting taking another pills? do i finish first my pills i was taking now? or can i start it taking another pills right away? i was worried coz nordette is 21 tablet only.. please help me.. thanks.. ## You should double check this information with your doctor to be certain, but normally you would finish your current pack, then when it is time to start a new pack, switch to the Trust pills. When done that way, there's no break in keeping yourself protected from pregnancy. And yes, they give you 21 tablets and you just aren't supposed to take any for the week you get your period, then after t...

I came across this and can't find anywhere on internet what it is. A small round white pill one side has P and other side has N underscored. Please help. ## Hello, May! How are you? Is it a very tiny pill? There is a tablet manufactured by Novast Laboratories that matches this description. It's one of the inactive tablets from a package of oral contraceptives called Wera. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms.

I been on my period for the past couple months my OB prescribed this to regulate my cycle and stop bleeding. How fast should I see results?? Should I take 3 pills at once to stop the bleeding. I need to stop the bleeding ASAP ## Hello, Boo29! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Did you doctor instruct you take 3 at once? There are no guarantees that doing that will stop the bleeding, it could actually prolong it, or make it heavier. The best thing to do would be to take it as prescribed and let it rebalance your hormones, so it stops, but that may take a week or two. So this is my 4th month on this pill and it's the 2nd time (not counting the first month) that I got my period on the active pill. Is that normal? I'm tired of having my period so often. Can I just stop taking them right now and start the new pack when I'm done with my period? Or skip the other pills and keep taking the blue ones? ## Hello, Yaya! How are you? If you're in the 4th month and still getting irregular bleeding, then you should consult your doctor as this may not be the right oral contraceptive for you to take. Usually, these issues only persist for the first 3 months. The FDA lists other typical side effects or oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can h...

So, I'm considering taking Lo Loestrin FE and I'm very nervous about it. When will it start being effective when I first start taking it? I have a terrible fear of vomit so I'm wondering if it will make me vomit? Please help. ## It typically takes a week for this medication to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body to prevent pregnancy. Thus, you'd need to use a backup method of contraception until the 8th day. Unless you start it on the first day of your period, then it will be effective immediately. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Thus yes, there is a risk it could make you vomit. Is there anything else I can help with?

I used oralcon for one month because of hormonal imbalance so I just want to know when will i ovulate because I am trying to conceive. ## Hello, Sherowze! How are you? What is your usual cycle? Taking them for just one month isn't really likely to help much. However, during your normal cycle, you usually ovulate somewhere from day 10 to day 14, depending on cycle length. How did you know how had a hormonal imbalance? ## Hi I'm lucy iv been diagnose with pcos I just want to know wil Oralcon family planing help me cos I'm TTC.

My last menstruation was January 15 and I usually bleed for 3 to 4 days. I had an unprotected sex with my boyfriend a week after my first day of menstruation, January 22. He accidentally ejaculated inside me. I took Nordete 21 within 48 hours after the deed since that is the only EC pill available here in the philippines. Days after taking the pill i experience breast tenderness and soreness and it's very painful. Aside from that i didn't experience any side effects. I was expecting my period February 12. Now, i am a day delayed. Can I possibly be pregnant? I am really worried and already freaking out :( ## What you are reporting as far as breast pain and tenderness is a possible side effect of the Nordette - With that said, if you do not have your menstrual cycle within the nex...

I have been on Sprintec for three months now, and have been fairly good about taking my pills. However, during break, I forgot a few times about my pills and took those I forgot 4 hours late. For about a week, though, I have been back on track. Last night when we were having intercourse, my boyfriend's condom came off as he was pulling out. He had not ejaculated yet, but we are not sure if he was completely dry. Today, we were out for lunch and I accidentally took my Sprintec 2 hours late. Am I still protected, or should I go for Plan B? ## My boyfriend's condom busted last night. What should I do to prevent pregnancy?

I have been on this pill for over 2 years. The past few months I have had breakthrough bleeding at some time in the month. Can the pill start becoming ineffective? I am under a lot of stress right now and about to graduate college. ## Have you consulted your doctor? It should remain effective, as long as you are taking it daily, as you are supposed to do. However, the stress can have some effect on the hormones in your body and may cause menstrual irregularities, such as breakthrough bleeding, even if you weren't taking hormonal contraceptives. ## Talk to your doctor. I have been on loestrin 24 fe for almost 4 years and have been having similar issues over the last 6 months or so. My doctor said its still effective but sometimes your body/medication rhythm just needs to be "rese...

Hi. Wud like to get some info on the two month nustrate injection. I went for the shot only once in my life. I didn't go back again. I bleed for three weeks the first month but it was lighter than normal. I only spotted a day the following month. I didn't get my period again and month has passed by. Could I be pregnant? ## I HAVE USED NUR ISETRATE FOR 5 YEARS AND I NEED TO FALL PREGNENT NOW ## Hello, Sash! How are you? Only your doctor and blood work are going to be able to answer your question about being pregnant. Even with the best contraceptive methods available, if you're actively engaging in intercourse, there is always a chance of getting pregnant. However, when you use a hormonal contraceptive, menstrual irregularities can occur and are usually nothing to worry about...

Ok, so I had a tubal ligation a few years ago and my cycles went crazy. I asked my doctor to put me on something to regulate me before my Hysteroscopy and Uterine Ablation. I am supposed to start my cycle next week in the middle of a vacation that I never ever have. I really really don't want to be on my period during a romantic getaway. What would happen if I started taking the Previfem now? 6 days before my cycle? Is it possible that I won't be on my period? I'm 33, 2 kids... Thank you! ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? Yes, it is possible that doing that might skip or delay your period and there's no harm in it, if your doctor approves.
