Best Generic Adderall Brands (Page 31) (Top voted first)
UpdatedIs the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?
I am totally in agreement with ALL the complaints regarding Adderall XR 30 mg. The only one that works is the one with orange & white beads, but Walgreen's stopped carrying that and when I questioned them why, of course they played dumb. Then I bought 10 of Shire's brand Adderall XR 30 mg., and they too were practically ineffective. What to do? I don't know... Call every pharmacy in the universe to see if they carry the orange & white version. I tried Mydayis, but it is tame by comparison. NTL, it is good for focused writing and getting boring chores done. Also, it does not have the "crash" that XR has. Good luck, ADHD soulmates, & I'll report back if I find something decent...
I’m in Pittsburgh and just filled my script yesterday. The one Cvs I went to was completely out and then I tried rite aid, only had 30 pills left. It ended up being Teva again. I’m sick of having to take more than one pill to feel anything.
Re: Rebecca (# 587)
The funny thing is that I was about to just take
My chances and try them but my pharmacy got Teva in so I just settled for them instead. The lady on the phone said it was a “new shipment” so I will report back soon. Assuming they’re just opening them today I supposed I’ll get a first hand look at the current recipe. If it’s trash my doctor was nice enough to write me a second script for the brand or another generic if I really can’t stomach what I get.
Re: Val Ann (# 15)
No they can't keep your script, unless your state has some crazy law, check your state law... Next time raise enough hell that the walls shake tell them they are ripping you off and you are calling the police, you'll get what you. Want.

I would not trust anyone associated with Aurobindo/Aurolife where cheap, poor quality generics are made in India.
"Supported by a large-scale, integrated manufacturing system, Aurobindo is able to cut costs often to levels below those of India’s lowest-cost manufacturers.
“A large part of their portfolio is plain vanilla generic products,” said Surya Patra, who tracks Indian pharmaceutical equities for PhillipCapital India Pvt. in Mumbai. “Whatever margins they enjoy in the U.S. is because of their large scale.”
Much of Aurobindo’s strength comes from the fact that it makes many of the component chemicals used to manufacture finished drugs, rather than buying those pharmaceutical ingredients from other companies. That allows it to squeeze savings along the supply chain, said Ranjit Kapadia, an analyst with Centrum Broking Pvt. in Mumbai.
“If you’re making all these steps in your own factory, then you’re getting a cost advantage,” he said.
That advantage has been especially important amid political pressure to lower drug prices in the U.S., a consolidation of pharmacy chains leading to increased buyer clout, and a drive to approve more generic medicines, especially for diseases in which there are few treatments available.
Aurobindo’s broad portfolio of low-cost products helps buffer the impact on revenue of two customers becoming one, or a new competitor entering a therapeutic category, Kapadia said."

I have been taking 30 mg IR pink round pills from CORE but since they discontinued SUN is the next best thing to do. I have tried all the other brands and they never did much for me!
Re: Erica (# 607)
I don't like them. They seem potent at first but lose steam very quickly. Most importantly I find they do little for concentration and focus. It's like they loaded some Sudefeds in them...no mood help whatsoever.
With that said, I'm no Doc and they may be the holy grail to you.
Just try them. It's only 1 month.
Good luck!
Re: Steve (# 601)
I have been on adderall since 1995. I have tried core & they sucked, xrs were good, mylans were ok once. Sandoz are on supposed backorder bulls***! Now teva’s were ok, that was 4-6 months ago. Now i feel like im taking a placebo. Alone today i took 660 mg of 30s and 280 mgs of 20's. That used to land me in the hospital with cardiac issues. Now I feel very little effect.
Re: Jenny (# 603)
Hey where were you able to get the core Pharma ones? Also, were they the 20 or 30 mg IR? Please let me know as I'm about to go fill my script and I'd like to get core.
Dawn (# 612) --
I took Core when available until it was discontinued recently. All have been 30 mg IR 2/day.
Re: Comments Submitted (# 610)
Thanks for the report. I sincerely appreciate everyone's input on this! Getting my adderall script filled has been a freaking nightmare. I literally have to call every cvs/pharmacy only to be told that they cant tell me the info on the phone. I go there just for them to tell me its not in stock and when it is in stock it's AUROBINDO and ive never taken that before but ive seen way too many complaints to waste my script on it. I tell them i can only have teva, mylan or sandoz. Those are the 3 ive heard at least some good reviews on. I went to walgreens who had teva. They make me wait 15 minutes just to tell me my insurance (medicaid americhoice) doesn't contract with them. So i continued the hunt and mind you, this took me two weeks to find a place that has something im willing to take in stock. I get told my cvs has mylan (my least ideal choice) but at this point idc!!!! Ok so THEN after thinking im finally getting it, they tell me that they need a prior authorization AGAIN. I've been waiting on that for another week. Lol, in conclusion, i still dont have the adderall. If this mylan sucks im gonna be PISSSSSSED. Btw for anyone looking for teva, walgreens carries them pretty much exclusively i was told. Sorry for the rant. Any more updates on the mylan? Still going smooth?
Does anybody know anything about impax adderall...30mg xr (extended) release?...Just got my script and saw mixed reviews on it. Nervous as f***. Prescribed 50mg for 3 years always teva and now it's my first time ever getting impax brand adderall...Thank u in advance, I appreciate it.
Update!
I got my script filled mylan 15 mg cause of all the bad comments I had my doubts but I must say I am happy I requested them cause they actually work smooth and wonderfully.
Just goes to show you everyones different with how you react to the brands. I respond well to teva too.
-impax noo
-auro noo
-mallinckrodt noo
Mylan is a winner in my book. Smooth, speedy, functionable, happy and no comedown yet. Also noting that I am on sertaline so that might be helping with the anxiety side effect of the amphetamine. Good luck to everyone
Re: Justin (# 624)
I could of told you that!
2 months of promise....ugh. After 3 days, NADA.
Despite the "doom and gloom" of Aurobindo, I filled my monthly scrip today with them.
I had choice between Teva and Aurobindo and took Aurobindo. Must be fresh batch. No complaints - and I have tried them ALL!
The issue is after a few weeks ALL ADD meds will lose punch due to tolerance.
Hint: Do not take on weekend.
Good Luck!
Over the past seven years, I have been on generic Adderall (IR), with tons of success. It has changed my life! I started with 3x10mg and have been as high as 4x30mg (way too high). I’ve been on 1x30mg followed by 3x20mg for years now. My experience with manufacturers have been mixed. My experience:
-CorePharma worked very well for me, but made me very agitated in the evening. Now, I can’t get it.
-Teva didn’t do much for me, other than gave me headaches.
-Aurobindo gave me digestive issues and I ended up at the Mayo Clinic. Bad deal.
-Mallecroft (sp?) is like taking sugar pills. Does nothing.
-Sandoz is absolutely the best adderall I’ve ever been on. It’s the most efficacious and consistent. Now I can’t get it...
And, from what I have heard recently, when they become available again, they will be formulated differently. And, when there is profitability involved, a reformulation is usually not a good thing.
Any direction on what to try next would be appreciated! Thanks!
Re: Kelly (# 630)
I have felt the same way with Teva. Every pill is different, each time I go to get my new script filled feels like a gamble.
Feeling tired after years of being worn the f*** to the core from this bulls***. The changing of generics because pharmacies got the thumbs up there ass for a dollar and customer care is a fasad, its out to rake in on you, through addiction to this company's products. Keep cannabis illegal, we'll just fill up on chemicals... The pink 30mg IR's were the absolute best for close to 2 years...then this store switches to "impax" made by shire...30mg xr this time, trash.... The 20mg orange are trash too which i get as well. Pink ones or the Sandoz which isn't around NY. A marijuana card requires u to choose between adderall and "pain management" which is crazy btw.
Re: Shawn (# 632)
the 20s orange are trashhhh just like impax Xr', the pinks are the way to go past 2 yrs but became scarse since switch of the scumag pharma'z its a dirty money laundering opp under the fa sad ur an amount to them like i am trapped under the chain of thes
To me the pink worked much better for energy, focus and attention span. But if your narcoleptic then that's a different story. Whether or not this med altogether is for you is totally up to u. I've learned over time on these boards that reasons for it working differently on everyone is the fillers that are added. Those chemicals react to each person in a different way. So the idea that "this one works, that one doesn't" no longer applies in my eyes anyways. 1000% try the pink. They're made by cor pharma who some say stopped making them, but they still do in places. Location is key, and what they order as well since u cant request anymore, which is total BS. I have 2 much real s*** to say, i'll save that for dinner.
Picked up my 30 mg generic Adderall script yesterday and was shocked to see white octagonal tablets by Mallinckrodt, not the peach I have been used to for ten years. Took one yesterday at 2pm. Felt so different than other generics. Weak, but made me dizzy and anxious. Took one this morning and feel terrible, made it to work but had a minor panic attack. This stuff is terrible but it's the only generic my pharmacy can get. Ready to take it to my doctor and have him write me another script and find a pharmacy that will have the orange ones I'm used to. Will have to pay out of pocket. Arghh!!
