Best Generic Adderall Brands (Page 25) (Top voted first)

Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?

I picked up my new script which is now the Adderall XR marketed by Sandoz. I noticed the manufacturing of the Shire brand and Sandoz was same location in Mass. The Prasco was made in Kentucky. Hmmm. ..must say these Sandoz/Shire Generic in 30mg seem weak. Totally different from now discontinued Corepharma with no side effects but very limited ADD relief. Probably last time for these Sandoz/Shire XR's...prehaps they will improve over time...

I've been getting my refills at Walgreens also and they are giving me PRASCO. They are absolutely USELESS! I've wasted my health and money on this medication for the last 3 months. I'm going to speak with my doctor about getting the name brand of Adderall and possibly changing my insurance company. I'm so tired of being tired and dealing with side effects.

Are you kidding - $2.65 for 45 pills of the instant release? Wow! I'm still paying (after meeting deductible and other requirements) $46.43 for 60 of the 25 mg D-Amphetamine ER capsules. Initially in the beginning of each year, I pay $200 approx. Crazy - I would rather pay this for the name brand - I'm wasting my money on something that is not working. Thanks for the reply.

Yes I have good insurance medicare WellCare/part D. Part D pays for all meds. The only thing I pay for is the IR adderall $2.65. Do you get the Barr oval orange 30mgs?? Works good for me, but I heard sandoz is better. For that I'll need to go to CVS. But I'm content with my local Walgreens at the moment..good luck

After this disaster with Sandoz XR "Authorized Generic" made by Shire, I'll probably go back to them even though you literally starve yourself...I take it you have not tried the "newly" formulated version.

Ok, your talking about a new Barr generic 30mgs. So it's longer? I see my doctor Monday for a script. I fill at the same Walgreens every month for the past 1yr. I'll ask the pharmacist if he notice a difference with the new shipment of generic adderall. Some phamacist are skeptical talking about control substances, but he knows me and knows I don't abuse them. Of course He will say there all the same, generics.

Ok thanks for the info. Usually I drop the script off at the drive thru window and pick it up next day. In this case I'll go in go to the consultation desk and get the specifics on the generics. Hopefully he won't be to busy. All he needs to do is check the computer for his inventory

Just got diagnosed 2 weeks ago with ADHD by my psychiatrist. He prescribed me 5mg pills to take, and said I could go up to 10mg in the morning if needed. I picked up the TEVA brand generic from Walgreens and tried them out. I've never taken any stimulant or any other brain-chemistry-altering medications in my life, so the side effects from the Teva were quite frightening. I had no relief in my ADHD but felt severe anxiety and panic. One of my friends in school has SANDOZ 5mg pills she picked up a few months ago. I traded a few of my Tevas with her Sandoz and I was shocked by how comfortable and focused I felt on the Sandoz pills! So off I went on a hunt to find Sandoz and I couldn't find them at all! I live in Illinois, and not one Pharmacy seems to stock Sandoz pills. It's either Teva or Aurobindo (which I've heard is worse). Any idea where I could find Sandoz pills? Another friend suggested CorePharma from Rite Aid, so I went to a few Rite Aids in my area but they seem to have switched over to Aurobindo exclusively as well since CorePharma no longer makes Adderall IR pills.

That's to bad. Teva 30 mgs does me right. Everyone has a different reaction generics . Your right about sandoz. I can get them at cvs if I wanted. But the Barrs are fine with me..Maybe I'll try sandoz

My pharmacy ran out of the orange tabs so they gave me 15 orange and 15 pink tabs. My rx is for 30.

I like the octagons. You dont find them much. Amd they are so much better than the U brand. The E 404 are good too. I dont like barr teva, too sweet

Would like to get some feedback on the effectiveness of Adderall XR 30 mg by Prasco. I've heard it contains the least amount of inactive ingredients, thereby making it the most effective of the generic brands? Any comments?

Is Prasco the best generic Adderall XR 30 mg available? I'm arguing back and forth to get the name brand Adderall XR 30 mg by Shire. They approved the IR which didn't last long enough and they had QL's on them so the doc put me back on XR but they refused name brand. Anyone know why they would do that?

It's the same as Sandoz XR. Both Prasco and Sandoz are the Authorized Generic of Shire. I had the Sandoz XR 30 last month. Clean but weak. With that said, your alternatives are the crap Teva and Aurobindo IR. I would order again...so "best" alternative. Good luck.

Seems like everyone just responds to this thread and doesn't answer anyone's new questions (thread) on generic adderall.
I'm glad this isn't a life or death medication that I was hoping to get feedback on before submitting my Rx to the drug store. I'm hoping I made the right decision in choosing the generic brand for my 20 mg IR adderall.

NYC adderall by Teva at Duane Reade/Walgreens: is it ok--I have a script but not going much. I don't find any effect from 15mg or 20mg of the blue Teva pills regardless of shape. I am 53 and tiny. Please let me know your experience with Teva brand as of late and especially if you live in NYC or get this from Walgreens (which merged with Duane Reade). NO local pharmacies other than CVS are in NYC with my insurance. I have a script fyi.

I too am getting my Adderall XR 30 mg generic from Walgreens and they gave me Prasco last month. After taking it for a few days, I wasn't certain whether I liked it or not as I still began to feel a little sleepy during the afternoon so thought that it had worn off like all the others. I contacted Prasco about their generic and they responded, in writing the following:

"We appreciate your interest in Mixed Amphetamine Salts ER capsules (the authorized generic of Adderall XR) which we distribute.
The product we distribute is manufactured for us by Shire (the brand manufacturer of Adderall XR) and contains the exact same ingredients and is an identical formula as Shire's brand product.
Please see the listing of inactive ingredients which you requested:
gelatin capsules, hydroxypropyl methylcelluose, metharcylic acid copolymer, opadry beige, sugar spheres, talc, treythlcitrate, red iron oxide and yellow iron oxide. Gelatin capsules contain edible inks, kosher gelatin and titanium dioxide.

Today, I am at the end of my one moth script and have called my doctor and asked them to please indicate Prasco as my generic choice brand for future refills. I didn't realize that this medication IS working for me and I no longer fall asleep at traffic lights and it lasts longer and I feel almost as good as if I were taking name brand Adderall XR by Shire. Think I will stick with this generic for a while. They were not expensive at all $47.88 for 60 capsules at Walgrees with insurance.
