Anybody Used Cytisine (Page 3)

Updated

Has anybody used Cytisine to give up smoking, is it an anti depressent, doesn't sound as 'natural' as it was made out to be. Side effects?

Are you still quit? How well did the product work overall?

Yes, I used cytisine three months ago. Very happy with my success and that I have been able to say I'm no longer a smoker.
The only side effect was that I stopped smoking...quit 4 good.

It's $50.00 , the TBX website is auto renew. I found it on Amazon for a flat rate of $50 without the auto renew.

All the things on market to help stop smoking from those who assured us there was nothing wrong with it to begin with, now want us to trust them once again for a "cure-all" solution to stop an addiction they created, commercialized and made very successful profits,....why should we trust you now? I want full disclosure of ALL the ingredients not just the main or active one. If you're not hiding something then I don't see why the whole info isn't released.

Is it true that cytisine causes cancer? I have my stripes but haven't started cuz I'm scared, please reassure me!

Haven't tried it, but I'm going to order some and give it a shot. I'll post results as treatment progresses. Best of luck to you.

Yes it works. Shocking considering I tried so much others ways. I still crave cigarettes 1 month later but use this instead.

I have used it and I found it worked for me. For the first 5 days, the cigarettes I smoked tasted disgusting, I didn't get that initial lift you get with the first few inhalations. On the 6th day I stopped smoking and didn't miss the nicotine at all. You gradually reduce the number of tablets per day, and it is a slow steady reduction, none of the abrupt stop as with Zyban and the likes. I would recommend it, the only side-effect I had was that I sometimes, found it hard to sleep at night. As with all stop-smoking drugs, (I have tried all of them) you have to be determined to stop. Oh and better yet, it is much cheaper than other stop smoking drugs.

It's not a anti-depressant its from a natural plant base. It has a weird after taste that tends to ruin taste for anything. I tried it but didn't stick to it. You have to be really dedicated to get it to work for you.

I have tried Chantix, nicotine patches, Cold Turkey, etc... I went from twenty four cigarettes to five a day within a couple of days. This works for me... Amazing! But I try to walk a lot and take vitamins. No side effects other than not needing to smoke. Try it...I will know how it goes in a few more weeks. I truly thought that I would not be able to stop a forty year habit.

Update: now I cannot even smoke the whole five cigarettes that I light up. I stop after a few puffs. Please give this a try. It might work...for you. Still trying to walk, drink lots of water. And I pretty much stopped drinking diet coke. From a five glass drinking habit to maybe one...Very strange... I wonder what diet coke has to do with cigarettes?

On the first few days can you smoke and use the films? I go 7.5 hours a day without smoking but I still do smoke. Can I smoke still? Not sure about using these.

I use the strips for craving purposes. I did not put myself on their program. I still smoked two yesterday but I just took a few puffs...couldn't even finish them. Trust me, I am or was a hardcore smoker....Now I have a very slight headache but I believe I am detoxing from the Diet Coke and nicotine. Still drinking lots of water to flush out the nicotine and whatnot. Hope that helps!

I just started using it today. It does seem to be working. I still have mild anxiety, but nothing drastic. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time outside keeping busy

Cytisine is simply not as toxic as some of the literature suggests. It seems to have inherited that reputation from some of the plants that it occurs in and great hyperbole exists in this area. However, I am not saying that it or those plants are nontoxic by any means. There is a single report of death from a person ingesting more than 35 mg of cytisine (see TOXNET) but the details are not clear as others (and animals) clearly have been given much more than that and survived. (In mice an oral LD50 can be found listed as 50 mg/kg in Hatfield and as 101 mg/kg in Barlow & McLeod.) The commercial product Tabex is a natural product extracted from Laburnum anagyroides seeds. I would imagine those tablets contain binders just like most tablets. Considering cytisine is a potent molecule, with an abundantly available good plant source for extracting it, there does not seem to be any reason to suspect that the manufacturer would add additional drugs. As is also true for nicotine this molecule can be toxic if enough of it is taken. That said at the recommended dosages it feels roughly similar to nicotine but I found it to have a more relaxing edge. It did induce some minor incoordination that I did not like.

What is the dosage you took and where did you order it from? Did you have any headache or difficulty sleeping? Thank you.

I have experienced almost no side effects. One day I had a very mild headache but that was it. No nausea or perceptual troubles. I did notice a dry mouth, minor clumsiness and some incoordination. I've taken it within 2 hours of bedtime and had no trouble sleeping.
