Anybody Used Cytisine (Page 2)

Updated

Has anybody used Cytisine to give up smoking, is it an anti depressent, doesn't sound as 'natural' as it was made out to be. Side effects?

These pills are fantastic! I became really aggressive/bad mooded/nervous in previous attempts to quit. I 'forgot' to smoke after 3 days tabex! And didn't feel like it physically. Next to that these pills really seem to work like a giant mood booster for me. I find myself singing/happy/in a very good mood! If possible I would take them forever ;-). But hey, that would be a new addiction and SO happy I got rid of the smoking! I think they are really not marketed worldwide because of the tobacco industry or politics interfering (making money and saving money, what would they do if people don't die anymore due to smoking, too many healthy older people).

I took tabex tablets also and within 3 days I was done smoking and also had stopped drinking Pepsi as well. I felt great while taking them I had positive thoughts and slept good. Now that I am done with the doses I wake up every hour every night. I also noticed I was eating more now. These are things with healthy eating habits we can fix, beats smoking. I bought 2 boxes incase I failed but so far day 25 still clean. I tried chantix with bad results, same as patches. Thank you to who created tabex tablets.

So how many more ways do you know to quit smoking that would be effective, apart from nocotine plaster or chewing gum ?!

I have tried Cytisine a few times. Quit for Good program. I love the strips. The first time I quit for 6 months but unfortunately I enjoy having the odd ciggy now and then and consequently fall off the wagon :( Sadly tho I have spent over 1000 dollars now buying these strips (had them about 6 times, whoops) but I like taking them and only having a cig every month or so. I will eventually succeed :)

congrats Dan, if you're still off the evil butts. I'm 74 and started smoking at 12. That's 62 years. Anybody think i can beat the habit? I just ordered the strips talked about here and should have them in 5-7 days, along with the instructions. I'm gonna TRY. I'm not afraid of dying but i'm totally on my own so MUST be able to take care of myself. Plus i hate being an outcaste.

You ask about quitting cold turkey. I quit cold turkey after a forty year smoking habit. Everyone who knew me wanted to know how I quit -many were shocked that someone like me at two packs per day could quit and quit cold turkey. CT quitting is more of a process than an event. Once you know how to quit CT anyone can quit and never smoke again. By the way and just to be clear nicotine addiction is not only a physical addiction to nicotine. There is an additional addiction, the psychological addiction to the habit. Cytosine and Nicotine replacement products only deal with the psychical addiction by suppressing the effects caused by nicotine when the goal should be to end both addictions. I hope someone who may have given up trying can find a new hope and motivation to give CT quitting a chance.

Hi I was just wondering how long have you been taking them as I'm on my 4th week and still smoking, I feel I could stop but need longer and are worried that if I take a lot longer it will cause some problem

If you are using the tablets you should have stopped smoking by the 5th day. If you haven't then you are to stop and wait 2 or 3 months and try again. The pattern is to take tabex then alternate the first 5 days smoking or not. Don't overload yourself with too many toxins.

Bought it and used 4 strips the first week. Reduce my smoking from over a pack a day to 3 a day. Had a bout with bronchitis so I had to stop the strips. I went up to 6-10 cigarettes by the next week. Back on them and it is working like a charm. I am a 35 year smoker and I never thought I would find anything that would take the edge off. P.S. Lost 10 lbs! This is a Godsend. Please try it! Worth every freaking penny!!

I just started the oral strips today, I haven't had a cig since Monday (5 days ago). I was using nicotine gun and a vape cig. I have found this to work well, only chewed a pc of gum a little bit and the vape cig a few times. But am suffering from heartburn. Not sure if it's from the cytisine or the other stuff. Wish me luck! Oh and I have COPD and my doctor said it was ok to use.

Yes. Try TBX-Free. It worked for me. 4 weeks of not smoking after being a smoker for 25 years. Its a little expensive...but WORTH it!!
