My 15 year old son will be starting Orap for his severe breathing tics for the first time. I am terrified of this drug but we are out of options. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with this drug. ## I haven't used it, but the reason I'm here is to provide you with information about it. I wouldn't say that it's necessary to be terrified of it, it has its risks, but so does any other medication on the market, even over the counter products. You should just make sure you are fully informed and discuss your concerns with your doctor. Orap contains the active ingredient Pimozide, it is an antipsychotic that has been shown effective at treating resistant tics. You can learn more about it here: I would assume he's started the medication by now. How has he been doin...

what size needle would you use to give prolixin inj. IM? ## Hi Tammy, According to the prescribing label for this medication, "Prolixin Decanoate (Fluphenazine Decanoate Injection) may be given intramuscularly or subcutaneously. A dry syringe and needle of at least 21 gauge should be used. Use of a wet needle or syringe may cause the solution to become cloudy." My reference for this information is linked below: NOTE: I would recommend reviewing the entire article in the link if this is your first time using this medication. I hope this info helps!

My mother is in a nursing home and the nurse said she would not go to bed or to sleep and would not listen to her she locked her in her room and she would not stop screaming so she gave her a "pill or medication" they refer to as Halo, but she either wouldn't or couldn't tell me what it was for or what it would do...what is it? I've since reported the nurse for her behavior! ## I believe she as referring to Haldol- "hALO"....I put link below my message so you can check it out.....sometimes it is injected when patient is non- compliant, or orally if that works. It merely calms her down....she needed the help of a med for this......you should keep an eye on this matter though and make sure they use this only as needed, in my opinion. I was prescribed an anti-depressant that phonetically sounds like zyphermean....locate all effects and correct spelling, please ## Hi Susanne, Just to list a couple possibilities that I found: -Zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic, approved by the FDA for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. -Xyphedrine is a weight loss supplement (may or may not have any anti depressive properties) With all the thousands of drug names out there, it's going to very difficult to determine a match for this. I tried a handful of different variations of your spelling as well, with no luck. Have you tried contacting any pharmacies about this? That's probably the next thing I would do in this situation, other than checking with health food stores that sell over the counter anti depress...

A friend takes this medication & he says it is Haldol; however, I cannot locate it in any of the pill identifiers. I have checked several sites and none of them show this particular pill. I noticed that Haldol Decanoate is no longer available but I am unable to locate any images of this particular medication. I was wondering if maybe that is what he is taking. Could you please identify this pill? ## The brand that was sold under that name is no longer available, however, this is a generic for it and it, as well as several other brand names are still available. To be precise this tablet contains 20mgs of Haloperidol, which is an antipsychotic. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

The head of psychiatry nin a hospital said susposedly: "If you get him off fazaclo, he won't be stumbling in a week". But that psychiatrist left the decision to the county paychiatrist who said:" No he can not get off fazaclo". And the hospital guy will not talk to us even when we checked in emergency for three hours. ## I am not sure what you are asking. Unless someone has been declared mentally incompetent and unable to make decisions for themselves, there is no way that anyone can force them to continue taking a problematic medication. Has this person tried seeing different doctors?

can i take detkote with risperidone and also topiramate together i dont think so please let me know cause i dont get zeisures and thats what topiramate is for ## Yes, Topirimate is an anticonvulsant, but it does have other medical uses, as well. Most anticonvulsants have also been shown to work as mood stabilizers. As to taking all 3, there are some warnings about possible risks associated with taking the Depakote with Topirimate, as it may cause hyperammonemia encephalopathy and mixing the others can increase your risk of depression of the central nervous system. However, this doesn't mean they can't be used together, it just means that your doctor must carefully consider the dosages and should be monitoring your for any potential problems. Could anyone identify this? I found it in my front room this morning and i am quite concerned. Its a small round white pill with Z P on one side and a C on the other side. Thank You ## It is the same as tablets I have had called Prochlorperazine. These are used to treat dizziness and problems with balance, and for nausea and vomiting including that associated with migraine. It may also be used in schizophrenia (a mental illness with symptoms such as hearing, seeing or sensing things that are not real), and to help in the short term management of anxiety. I am schizophrenic. Doctor has advised me to take Sulpitac 50mg twice daily. After taking the medicine upto 2months, I feel stressed in brain after some mental work and also suffer from constipation. Is this happening with this medicine. I am also taking Sizodon-LS 2mg once at night daily and Lonazep-0.25mg once at night daily. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Sulpitac contains the active ingredient Amisulpride, it is an antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia and the manic episodes of bipolar disorder. And yes, it can cause those side effects.
