At first I thought it was depression coming on than I noticed a patern, the day after a crying fit I would start my period. If I manic cry 1 day month I can handle that for sure! I seem to be having some difficulties losing some zyprexa weight. the first time I was on 40mg for about 6 months and when I stopped, 50lbs went away in 2-3 months just purely coming off the medication, no diet and no exercise. most recently I was on for about 3 months on 5mg. I gained about 20-25lbs. I have been off for almost 6 weeks and I only lost about 5 pounds. it seems like the scale stops there. any insight on why this can be besides the feared metabolic dysfunction that zyprexa is known to cause? I have bipolar and was on 5mg of olanzapine and 20mg of seroxat. I was quite well for 8 or 9 years. I asked my doctor if I could come off the meds, and she took me off the olanzapine in December 2012. I had an awful relapse about 6 months later, ended up in hospital, lost my job and caused awful hardship for my family. I have asked my doctors and pharmacist if stopping the olanzapine caused the relapse and they all said no, as after stopping the olanzapine symptoms would occur within a week or so. I can accept this. However, I also asked if I had carried on taking it could I have prevented the relapse. Again, they all said no - that because relapse occurred about 6 months after I came off it, that there was no link between the two. Again I asked a few times if I had continued taking the...

Everyone's body is different so even though some people may not have luck with losing the weight, it doesn't mean that it will be that way for everyone. I'm sure your post will be very helpful to those currently dealing with wei...

I would like to know if anyone has experienced skin and muscle mass changes while on Seroquel? I was put on this medication by my psychiatrist almost a year ago to help with manic depressive disorder and sleep problems. At first it seemed to do a wonderful job with minimal side effects (increased appetite and a bit of a dry mouth). I then was given a gradual increase in dosage when sleep problems started to become a problem again. At the increased dosage of 400 mg daily, I noticed that my skin was suddenly taking on a crinkly, crepe paper like appearance and there was a dramatic change in my leg and arm muscle mass with dramatic weakness and leg muscle pain so severe at night that it awakens me from sleep. My skin has become so paper thin that when I shave my legs, they bleed. At the ag...
