My doctor prescribed nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide to be used for yeast infection in my nose. Is it safe to use the cream inside the nostrils. ## Hello, Red! How are you? You should follow your doctor's instructions. Placing a thin later of it inside the nose should allow it to work topically and not result in your actually ingesting it, unless you use far too much. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, rash, redness and dryness. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I use this on a 10onth old baby . Clotrazole cream USP 1% for a yeast infection ## Hi Christina, Clotrimazole is used to treat yeast infections. However, according to the US National Institute of Health, the product warning label for Clotrimazole recommends asking a doctor before applying this medication on children under 2 years of age. I don't know what sort of risk factors or side effects may be associated with children in this age group who are taking Clotrimazole, but I'm sure the age limit is in place for a good reason. So we can only hope that the doctor will be able to make an appropriate judgement call upon determining whether or not it's going to be safe. Something they may take into consideration is the child's biological age in conjunction with their chro...

why and how does this affect the liver . ihave always taken pride in my toesnails and apparently thid product is effective in getting rid of this ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? Most medications are processed through the liver and carry the risk of causing liver damage or failure, though it usually only occurs with long-term use of high dosages. Lamisil contains the active ingredient Terbinafine, which is classified by the FDA as an antifungal agent. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, change in sense of taste or sneak, stomach pain and diarrhea. If you have a liver issue, there are topical ones that you may be able to use, instead. Have you discussed all of your options with your doctor?

I started using Jublia. I am suppose to use one dro for nail. However is imposibke to determine what one drop is since the brush in the bottle does not let you see the drop. Does anybody knows how to determine when one drop has entered the brush. I am afraid that i am not going to get enough since the manufacturer says there are 200 droos per bottle ## The brush is a mess. No, there is no way to determine one drop. I've tried, and usually end up squeezing out too much. I learned to simply turn the bottle over, then let one drop (or whatever) slowly come out, WITHOUT squeezing. That's the best I can do. But, since it takes 48 weeks to do the full treatment, and each bottle is $500, the total is insanely high. So after two bottles, I quit. ## I also ran out quickly. Mainly because...

A neighbor died after reaching the tumor stage. ## A neighbor struggled with Mycosis Fungoides a lymphoma and after initial treatment stopped going to oncologists. He reached the tumor stage and died. He said at one point he was treating the plaques with epsom salt. ## Yes, epsom salt would only be a topical treatment and it's not proven to help with such a condition, anyway. This is a T-cell lymphoma, so that means he wasn't doing anything to help with the internal source of the problem. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## There needs to be scientific help for Lupus and drugs to cure the disease and not just a band-aid approach. There is no real diagnostic for lupus.

I was prescribed Nystatin triamcinolone acetonide cream usp for inflamation of my cervix but I dont know if i am supposed to put the cream inside of my vagina? It says for external use only? ## Hi Jess, It may be a good idea to double check with your prescribing doctor first, but from my understanding - when a medication says "for external use only", I get the sense that they use that as a warning to not 'orally' ingest it. However, my personal opinion is that it should be ok to apply on the outer areas of the cervix and not directly inside, unless specifically instructed otherwise by your doctor. I think that would probably be the best way to play it safe until further notice if I were in such a position. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Can I internally insert to clear bv ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Amphotericin B will not treat BV, it is only effective at treating fungal infections, such as yeast infections. BV is an actual bacterial infection, so it requires an antibiotic to be treated and one is usually taken orally. The FDA lists typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Have you consulted your doctor?

How are you? Actually, it sounds like you may have a fungal infection. It is similar to what many men call jock itch. The best thing to do would be to see your doctor, so they can check it out, give you a proper diagnosis and then prescribed something to remedy the situation. There are over the counter products...

Is it possible for Jublia to cause nausea and low back pain? It seems every time it apply it, I get sick later on and my low back kills me! ## Hello, Mary! How are you? I'm sorry about the symptoms you're having. No, that is not normal. The FDA classifies this mediation as a topical antifungal and its typical side effects are related to its topical use and may possibly include skin irritation, redness, stinging and ingrown toenails. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor? How long have you been using it?

Can you you use metronidazole gel and miconazole 1 at the same time ? Will they both still work the same ? ## Hello, Niq! How are you? As long as your doctor has prescribed them both. There are even some mediations that do combine an antibiotic with an antifungal, in case a doctor may not be sure which is causing a certain problem that a patient is having. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is there a nonprescription drug with the same effect? ## Hello, JB Baby! How are you? There are some over the counter antifungal products that are effective, but it depends on the severity of your condition. Some cases are severe and don't respond to the over the counter products, since they are weaker, and require the more potent prescription medications. Has your doctor prescribed this for you? Since it's used topically, the side effects are usually related to that and, as listed by the FDA, may include redness, irritation and a burning sensation.

Jublia is manufactured by Valeant Pharmaceuticals and they list the active ingredient in it as being Efinaconazole, which is classified by the FDA as being an antifungal. I can only get about 60 drops per 4ml. Mfg says that there are 200 drops per 4ml. Anyone else having problems with prescription running out too soon? ## This is about Jublia ## Hello, Larry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I've noticed this myself, with various medications in liquid form and what it usually comes down to is your drops being bigger than what they consider to be standard. Squeezing a dropper or bottle harder or longer than they do, can cause you to be using more than you should. You may want to ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how you should be using it and how much you should be using each time. Jublia is listed by the FDA as being an antifungal medication, it is used topically, so most side effects relate to that and inc...

My 4 year old daughter has ringworm on her head, and i wanted to know if its safe to use on her scalp? I have the medicine gelmicin just got it from mexico, i just want ti know if its safe. ## Hello, Mell! How is your daughter doing? At her age, it is always best to consult her pediatrician, rather than trying to self-treat. Many medications can be more potent in children, to the point where they could actually be dangerous. Her doctor can provide a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate thing to treat it safely. Has she had ringworm, before? There is a steroid in Gelmicin, as well as an antibiotic and antifungal, so it could cause her some serious side effects, such as those listed by the FDA like weight gain, acne and skin rash.

Why can't patients under 17 use it? What harm could a topical steroid really cause? ## Hello, Mygirlz! How are you? There are actually several reasons and they vary by the age of the pediatric patient. For instance, in children under 12, there have been cases where they absorbed too much of it, due to their smaller body mass to skin ratio and suffered dangerous toxicity, this may also apply to those from 13 to 17. And for children from 13 to 17, there have been instances of adrenal suppression from its use. And all children from 12 to 17 risk developing Cushing's Syndrome from using it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is growth a concern in children under 12? My son had a bad rash and was given Triamcinolone Acetone Cream USP 0.1% 30 g. He did not use the whole tube. ...
