I have been on seroquel and buspar for about 4 years and my doc just added viibryd for the anxiety. Does anyone else take this combination and does it seem to work? My anxiety has gotten worse lately so he added this med. I started today with the 10 mg and supposed to do that for a week then 20 for a week and then the dose I'm supposed to stay on at 40mg. Thoughts anyone?? ## Hello, Bewinter! How are you? Actually, the Buspar and Viibryd shouldn't be combined. There is a high risk of developing serotonin syndrome, if you take both of them, which could be life threatening. I'd suggest double checking with your doctor, before taking them both. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Viibryd at 20 mg completely destroyed my anxiety! A miracle drug for me. ## I've been on...

I've been diagnosed with PTSD, Panic DIsorder with agoraphobia and Major Depression Disorder. Those like me tend to be very sensitive to brain meds because our brain's circuitry is wired to notice every little nuance of sensory changes. This chronic vigilance becomes both exhausting AND psychologically necessary for self-preservation. That's a trap. In other words we're used to being on guard but we need to not be on guard--anything that attempts to adjust this will cause paradoxical effects. So for example Xanax may initially cause agitation or anxiety as it switches the brain from on guard to calm. Calm is not familiar therefore psychologically it triggers anxiety while the med is doing what it's supposed to do. Lexapro targets the cerebellum and the thalamus--acco...

Hi, I just wanted to share some of the things that have helped me with the wirhdrawal effects from cymbalta. For the brain zaps, swaying feeling and loud ringing in my ears, I am taking one 5 mg valium 3 times a day. For the insomnia I listen to an audiobook (helps distract me from ringing ears too) and I take temazepam to sleep. For the headaches I take paracetamol, use a hot pack and voltaren rum on neck and shoulders. I found strong ginger tablets better than Maxalon for nausea and the diarrhoea is mild so not so bad. My moods are up and down but I know Im recovering from the effects of this rotten drug so I just try to go with it and be gentle on myself. My BP is still high but Im sure its the cymbalta and will soon come back down. I hope this helps some of you.

I am a person with clinical depression [past 30 years] who takes 150 mg of Effexor XR daily. I have done therapy in the recent past for a few years and concluded it when my therapist and I mutually agreed it was no longer needed and just went to medical maintenance with a psychiatrist, which was going great, but he just closed his practice for health reasons. I am having trouble finding a physician or private psychiatrist to just prescribe me with this medication and see me maybe twice a year for a med-check to make sure all is still going well. All the facilities want to require me to be in therapy at the same time, which doesn't fit my needs or situation. My personal physician does not feel comfortable prescribing psych meds. Just need to find someone in Pittsburgh who will and who t

He drinks six normal beers every night and more if he can get his hands on it. He is has no feelings of responsibility or emotion once he is on a roll and all of us are in the wrong?????? I do not drink. My husband has a lifelong track record of drug and alcohol abuse hence the depression and anxiety which has kicked in at the age of 40 years. What are we to do, he spirals out especially if he does not take the cylift on a regular basis....I cannot always track this as he c...

I'm on 10 mg but started experiencing mild fibrillation, slightly depressed and a feeling of exhaustion has been increasing over the last 2 years, but my G.P determined it is depression which I have had before in my life at times. Always recover. I'm a 78 year old woman. I take Citalopram 10mg each morning....no increase in energy; getting worse. Weakness is increasing over time...not improved on Citalopram. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? You may need a dosage adjustment, or to try a different medication, not every drug works for everyone that tries it, unfortunately. How long have you been taking it? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

I have been on Lexamil 2 mg for about 8 years. How long does it take to go out of your system. I am n my 6th day and feel energized, a bit of headache.... ## Hello, Claudette! How are you? It takes anywhere from 135 to 192 hours, based on its half-life, so that means 8 days, at the most. However, that does not necessarily mean that the side effects and withdrawal effects will be gone within that time frame, because that is a different matter. A headache can be a normal withdrawal effect, you may also experience dizziness, diarrhea, round depression and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello everybody. I have really high cholesterol but for some reason everytime I take a Statin it causes unbearable worsened depression. the doctors say it can't , but everytime I try it it does the same thing and I desperately need to get my cholesterol down, it isn't diet related, but sedentary life and chronic pain I fear. the way I the Statin makes me feel, I rather take my chances. PLEASE, are there others out there that get this reaction? If so should I try to get through a couple of weeks to see if it calms down? Doc says it can't cause this but they are wrong, I lost faith in them. The creator took 5 days to cause unbearable despair, there's only took one day. Anyone? I don't know what to do. ## Hello, Denabee! How are you? Depression is indeed listed by the F...

Hi. I am taking CymGen60 since April. I am still very depressed and cry a lot. Why can that be? ## Hello, Erna! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. That can be a side effect of this medication in some people that take it. Not every medication works for everyone that tries it. The U.S. FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and anxiety. If you've been taking it since April, with no improvement, you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Lyrica foratrigeminal nerve severed by cancer surgery. It is effective in subduing the pain but makesme more tired than I care to put up with. Cymbalta has been suggested as a replacement.I'd appreciate feedback from folks with experience to share, ## Hello, PT! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem you've been experiencing. Many people have good luck with Cymbalta for nerve pain, but not everyone. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Can anyone that's taken it for nerve pain chime in with their experience? ## I am thinking of weaning off Lirico and onto Cymbalta but I have precious little feedback as to people who have experience With this. I will likely wait un...

Took imipramine for 4 weeks am I going to experience withdrawal symptoms ## Hello, Bubbie! How are you? Yes, you may experience some withdrawal effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including fever, chills, diarrhea, rebound depression, headache, diarrhea and anxiety. Why did you stop taking it?

Day 7 on 10mg Brintellix. Nausea improving. Daily neck pain and headaches. Anxiety through the roof. Not sleeping at all. Insane watery diarrhea since day 5. Need something mainly for anxiety. Not feeling hopeful about Brintellix. ## I'm very sorry that you're so miserable. Those can be normal side effects of such a medication, usually they last about 3 to 4 weeks, before tapering off and then going away entirely. You may also experience dizziness and weight changes, as reported by the FDA. Has there been any change, yet?

I have been on Bupropion 150mg XL for years and am now switching to 75mg SR but cutting the 150mg SR pill (MU12) in half per my doctor's directions. Is it safe to cut the pill and take it on a daily basis? The official Mylan site says not to, but that was my doctor's directions. Would like to get other opinions before I start. ## Hello, Gary! How are you? Well, only your doctor can speak to their own rationale, but my best guess would be that since you've already been taking the higher dosage, they don't see much risk of your overdosing by cutting this tablet. Unless you're taking the whole tablet, you won't get the full 150mgs. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. H...

can U use pramadol with Prozac & Zanax ? ## Is it possible to use the drug pramadol with Prozac & Zanax for back and leg pain when needed ## Hello, John! How are you? Did you mean Tramadol? The main concern would be between it and the Prozac, since they can both raise Serotonin levels in the brain, which can lead to a dangerous condition called Serotonin Syndrome, if it becomes too elevated. Thus, you should only take them together, if your doctor has prescribed them both and is monitoring you regularly for any possible problems. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

I began taking remeron for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome. 7.5 mg x 2 per day. Noticed my heart began racing. Called doc asked if this was a side affect. He said don't worry your body is just getting used to remeron. It will adjust itself. That night woke up with terrifying hallucinations. Fell down two flights of stairs. Broke arm trying to get out by breaking a window. Bruises all over my body from falling down the steps. Back injured as well as neck. My nuts and thighs and both legs had huge black and blue marks. It's been a little over a week. Still in alot of pain. Still can't walk much without a lot but am slowly feeling less pain. Doc says I should be okay within a month. Remeron can be very dangerous. I could have been killed. ## Hello, Peter! How are you? I am so ver...

I was recently diagnosed with Seratonin Syndrome after 3 months of going from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was wrong with me -- nobody knew how to diagnose it -- heart palpitations, severe joint pain (was tested for lupus and RA) dialated pupils, very agitated and irritable, nose bleeds, increased blood pressure and pulse rate. I had been on Prozac (10 mg) for over 20 yrs. after an auto accident & subsequent surgery, Neurontin (1500-1800 mg) was added, along with Tramadol (50mg) 3-4 times a day. Cymbalta (30 mg) was added to the cocktail in December & I have been fighting symptoms that no one could diagnose. Seratonin Syndrome can be life-threatening, but I was prescribed all of these medications which did nothing but react with each other. Please be careful & do...

I'm taking Trazodone 10mg and was now prescribed cyclobenzaprine 5mg. Can these meds be taken simultaneously? ## Hello, Sandy! How are you? Were they both prescribed by the same doctor, so they are aware you are taking both? They both tend to increase sedation and both can also increase serotonin levels, which could be dangerous if they go too high, so they should only be taken together, if your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, cry mouth and drowsiness.

Hi all! I've been on Lexapro for 5 1/2 weeks (2.5 on 10 mg and 2.5 on 15mg) for generalized anxiety disorder. The first time I started taking Lexapro I took 10 mg and it worked fantastically, I then stopped taking it because I felt so great (rookie mistake). This time around I feel like it's doing a lot less to manage my anxiety. I'm certainly better than I was 5 1/2 weeks ago but not where I'd like to be. Should I give it more time or try taking something else? I'm not thrilled of the process that comes along with switching medications. Thanks in advance for the help! ## If it's been over 5 weeks and it's not helping as much as it should, then that likely means you need to try something else. The general rule is that it should reach its level of therapeutic ...

I'd like to know what this is. It's a capsule full of white powder Labeled two times with GG515 Thanks for your help! Blessings, Nancey ## Hello, Nancey! How are you? What color is the capsule? The closest one that I could find to this marking has GG 575 on it twice, it's manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Fluoxetine, which is a generic for Prozac. It is an SSRI antidepressant that is also used to treat anxiety and perimenopause symptoms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight loss.

about 2 weeks ago(17 days ago),my doctor upped me from 50 mg to 100 mg. (she had me try out 75 mg for a month and then switched to the 100 mg 17 days ago). the first few days at 100 mg,i got the dizzy spells. that went away. now the last few days(so have been on the increased dosage for 14 days) i get SO nauseous all day. i have the typical diarrhea too the past few days as well, had that when i first started a year ago and it went away with a couple weeks. is it normal for the nausea to come on so long after increasing it? is it because I have "enough of the medicine in my system"? i just feel so sick to my stomach. will that go away? ## Yes, that can happen, as the new dosage builds up in your body to therapeutic levels. You may also experience other side effects, such as dry m...
