Back in November of 2016 I made the decision to seek help in dealing with some depression and anger issues that I had been suffering with for a very long time. I called my health care provider (KP) and they had me talk to a general practice doctor, saying that I needed a referral in order to see anyone in their behavioral health department. I wasn't sure what a regular doctor was going to do for me, but I did as I was told. The day that I saw this person would end up being the beginning of some of the worst days of my adult life. This doctor listened to me for all of about 10 minutes and then prescribed Prozac for me. I had heard of it before, and was willing to try anything, so with little information on what I was getting myself into, I proceeded to follow Doctor's orders and ...

These pharmaceutical companies have to be held accountable. Not only do I believe they are trying to help you only just a smidget, I believe they are more about making medicine to hook you and make it very difficult to get off of them! I started Lexapro 20 mg in 2010 for anxiety. After reading the many reviews, I am convinced all my troubles that have developed since, are Lexapro related, NO DOUBT! I am weening off as I speak, I am down to 10 mg. and can already feel a difference. I'm not going to write a story, but here goes the symptoms I had. Body and head 'zaps' mostly at night. EXTREME sweating. Cottonmouth and feeling thirsty 24/7 and never being able to quench it. My eyeballs dried up and I would sometimes wake up with my eyes crusted shut, eye doctor told me he never...

My daughter has left side paralysis. Doctors diagnosed her with conversion disorder. But I know it's vaccine injury. She cannot sleep and has really bad headaches. He put her on amitryptille for the headache alone he claims. I don't think she would be taking this medication ## My 12 year old daughter took this med for 12 weeks to help with migraines. For some people this is a miracle drug. For her it was awful. Headaches got worse. She experienced severe anxiety and panic. We weaned her off over the course of three weeks. It has been 5 weeks since last dose and she is still not herself.

One side NOVO other side it says 100. It is white and looks like a perc with a line through it. I don't know what it is. Its from Canada. Thanks ## I am sorry, but I cannot find a listing for this in any of our resources, which makes sense if it is from Canada. They do not have a comprehensive databases of markings, like the U.S. does. I will keep looking. Does anyone else recognize this? ## Thanks, not even the pharmacist could tell me what it was. This is honestly the first time EVER I couldn't identify a pill. ## This pill is a novo-Trazodone. It is an anti depressant prescribed as a sleep aide. ## Yes, this is Trazadone 100mg. It can be used for sleep, but usually the dose for sleep is 25mg to 50mg. It is still used as an antidepressant. The main worry with use in men is the...

Hey everyone. I just started zoloft today and I have been having really bad side effects the past few hrs. Increased anxiety, sweating, nausea, i just feel awful. Is this normal? ## @jc1825, Sorry to hear about the symptoms you're having as of late. Though, looking at the drug monograph for Zoloft (sertraline) it appears that all of those are listed as possible side effects on the web page for the US National Library of Medicine at: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0045066/#DDIC601237.side_effects_section If any of them have become too bothersome or severe, I would definitely encourage you to contact your doctor as soon as possible just to be on the safe side. Sometimes if certain side effects are left untreated they can gradually manifest into worser symptoms, so it's almost im...

Unfortunately I was talked into taking Effexor for apparently being depressed despite counsellors repeatedly telling me I was simply sad with how my life had not gone to plan. I needed to talk, not take pills; anyway a story for another time. I wanted to stop taking Effexor 6 months ago and was on 225mg. I self medicated and cut back to 150mg then 75mg in 2 months with no side effects. I then tried cold turkey and totally regretted it. I did the right thing and visited my GP and he suggested dropping back to the weakest strength which i think was 35mg? I did 2 full weeks then every 2nd day. I could not get past the 2nd day without the side effects. I eventually did get there after 6 long months. The lesson for me out of this is as much as the people around me loved me they were wrong in...

What is the maximum dose of this drug that is being used for a better nights sleep? My doctor prescribed me 50mg. to be taken 1 hour before I plan on going to sleep. I've been taking as prescribed for 2 weeks and so far have NOT had any improvement. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!! ## Ambien also known as Zolpidem and Silnox works well for me, but you can become dependent on them. I used to take it right before bed and listen to a sleep called sleep easily and I would be sound asleep before the CD had ended. I used to wake up on a hourly basis. I was lucky to ever get 4 hours sleep straight and when I did I felt like super woman. But this medication withe sleep easily which can be downloaded to your phone or I pad I would sleep straight through and didn't have any problem...

I had depression n anxiety 10yrs ago. Was given Seroxat n had very good results. Been off meds since then. Now depression n anxiety has returned (relapse). Been given Lexapro, Luvox, Prozac. No results at all! Seems resistant to anti depressants. What is happening? Do i go for only benzos to treat anxiety bcos anxiety is main problem not depression. appreciate any help. Thx. ## Hello, Ochomow! How are you? Have you ever tried just an anxiolytic, like Buspirone, if it's available there? It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, somnolence and nervousness. It's something you may want to talk to your doctor about. It may be what you need if taken with an antidepressant. ## Hope things have gotten better since you posted this. Just started this medication, one 30mg capsule and I had the most excruciating burning stomach pain. Within hours I had hot and cold sweats and for 5 days unable to eat or sleep and feeling so very ill. My GP gave me Peptac Liquid which barely helped. Never again! ## I was on cymbalta60 for neuropathy from my cancer treatment. I truly felt like running infront of a bus. I stuck with it for a little bit but to no avail. Coming off of it was just as bad if not worse. Be very very careful. It is for but a few people.

White oblong pill with an A on one side and a 10 on the other... I was told it's a Norco 10, but needed to make sure. ## This tablet is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma and they list it as containing 45mgs of Mirtazapine, which is an antidepressant. I have been taking Silenor for 5 night. My doctor gave it to me as I tapered off of Seroquel. I was on 25 mg of Seroquel for 2 months. I tapered the pill down in quarters until I was off. I was. I was very excited because I was falling asleep on my own again, but had trouble staying asleep (sleep maintenance). So my doctor told me to try Silenor to help me stay asleep. It hasn't been working very well. I do sleep longer, but I still have frequent wake ups. I have also been having headaches, night sweats with my dreams and feeling pretty out of it in the morning. My mood has also been low. Do I need to taper off the 3mg of Silenor after only 5 nights?

I have a dear friend whose wife left him 2 months ago and is now taking Zoloft (not sure for how long). He mistakenly got off this medication too quickly and had a major withdrawal symptom during which he went completely homicidal/suicidal (he wanted to kill his wife and kill himself). He knew he was experiencing something deeply wrong so he called me to drive him urgently to the pharmacy to pick up his med. He apparently took Clonazepam to calm him down but it made him unable to drive. Once he got his med, he took it right away and felt semi-normal in the matter of 4 hours and "normal or stable" by the next few days. It really scared me for I have not encountered anything like this before personally. He then proceeded to continue his irrational behaviors including madly falling...

I am on Nortriptyline 75 mg. My psychiatrist ordered it yesterday. She said it would help with my nicotine cravings as I want to cut back, not quit. My question is, can Nortriptyline be helpful in quitting smoking? ## It really depends on why you smoke. Some antidepressants have been shown to be helpful with smoking cessation, but they don't always work for everyone. Have you tried taking it yet, to see if it helps you? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications? How much do you smoke each day?

I have been prescribed 50mg of pristiq for severe anxiety. Often I've seen a common side effect on the libido. Can someone tell me how you felt, if anything? What changed? Is it permanent? Did you have any other negative side effects? ## The FDA warns that it can lower the libido, other typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. Yes, they are all reversible and not permanent. Can anyone that's taken it chime in with their experiences? ## I've deffinelty experienced the nausea, causing me to vomit and take time off work. I've noticed my mood is very mellow which I've never in my life felt!

I was prescribed trepiline many years ago for back ache. I now find that they do not help any longer. I have tried over a period of 3 months to gradually stop taking these tablets. Then the migraines began. They were coming one after another all day. Fortunately I do not get the severe headache. My GP said that I must go back on them immediately. I do not see why it is necessary to take a tablet that does not help any longer and also made me gain 10kg weight. Please give me your advise. It would be appreciated. ## Tripelene contains Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant that is also used to help with some forms of nerve pain. Since it is an antidepressant, it works on brain chemicals, so experiencing such symptoms if you stop taking it can be normal. Learn more Amitriptyline...

The new bottle I received today contained an oblong pill manufactured by Clipla USA. I have been taking a round pill manufactured by PAR. Are these the same except the manufacturer? ## I have always taken Par (their subsidiary Anchen made the bupropion). Today I was told Par has stopped making it and was given Cipla. I have had major issues with other generic brands of Wellbutrin and am nervous about not having Par/Anchen anymore. The other generics were not the same, and bupropion historically has been the subject of many issues with inequitable generics. ## Hello, Kathryn and MK!
