I still suffer from anxiety like I never had before, insomnia, chronic pain, irritability and brain fog. Please warn folks not to take these drugs. I want to die almost every day. I am unable to do much. I have been working very hard on this recovery. Thanks. M W. ## Hello, Madeline! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. However, neither of those medications is a cure, so it's highly possible that you still suffer from anxiety and it may have gotten worse with time. While withdrawal can cause some rebound effects, it wouldn't last for 9 months, especially after having done a very slow taper. Have you tried anything else to treat ...
Didn't work for me. Tried for to months. No improvement. ## Hello, Allan! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that this treatment didn't work for you. Many people do have success with it. What are you other treatment options? Are you taking medications? Do you go to counseling? This therapy is most commonly used to treat treatment resistant depression. The most common side effects that have been reported are headache and scalp discomfort.
I've been on 20mg Citalopram for almost 6 weeks now and don't feel any better, of anything I'm more depressed and anxious than I was before. My GP has talked about increasing the dose but I don't know wether it's the Citalopram, making me worse or if the dosage isn't strong enough. Any thoughts plaeas? ## Too many physicians don't take side effects seriously, and rather than stopping the antidepressant, increase the dose. A major side effect of all antidepressants is a deeper depression. Although I'm a layman, I've been through enough therapy and antidepressants to know that what your doctor is doing is wrong. For one thing, psychiatrists should be prescribing antidepressants, not general practitioners. My advice is not to increase the dose and to see...
Hello I was on effexor xr 75 mg for 5 years then went to celexa 20mg for a month. Then decided to go cold turkey lasted 2 months. Psychiatrist put me on 20mg of prozac which almost drove me crazy lasted 2 weeks. Then started viibryd 10mg for 2 weeks felt really dizzy and wobbly on my legs.. I also feel when I close my eyes I'm on a rocking boat. I'm currently on 5mg i got changed psychiatrist and he mentioned viibryd is not on his list of medications so I might be switched again. Part of me feels like it could still be withdrawals from effexor... any help would be greatly appreciated ## Hello, Henry! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems that you've been having. After several months, you shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals from the Effexor, they don...
Is it possible to Overdose on trazadone?? I was told in the ER that I cannot overdose on trazadone...is that true?? ## Hello, Dewie! How are you? It is possible, but not easy to do. You'd have to take a lot of it in order to experience a dangerous or fatal overdose. However, there is always a chance of overdosing on something, if you take too much of it. But, most dangerous or fatal overdoses occur due to mixing medications, it is very rare for them to happen from taking just one drug. When someone mixes them, their body may go into shock, because it doesn't known which chemical instruction to respond to, so it just starts to shut down, to try to protect itself from damage. This is why people that don't get prompt medical attention might die from mixing too many medications....
I started Effexor in December of 2013 after having taken Prozac for years. I had a daughter in law diagnosed in October of that year with stage 4 breast cancer. Her husband, my son, has always had money problems, no matter how much he makes. My daughter in law is a great gal, and I was really pressured to spend money I didn't have, very stressful time for a 67 year old gal. I started with the Effexor because I was having trouble sleeping, started having hot flashes again, lots of mental anxiety. Recently I started having a clanging noise in my head, bowel problems, and really irritable and depressed. I went to have several tests done, all negative for any serious disease or health problem. The financial and health problems with my son and daughter in law have been taken care of the ...
My doctor prescribed me buporion to help me quit smoking and I'm pragnant, will this drug harm my baby. ## Hi Mic, As a psychotherapist and a holistic health practitioner and a mother of two toddlers I want to encourage you to seek out alternative methods for quitting smoking than taking drugs. Even if there is a 1% chance that the medication can affect the baby, then it's worth finding another route. I'm all for keeping our babies drug free. Try hypnotherapy and/or acupuncture. They can be very helpful for smoking. It's disturbing to see how readily and frequently vulnerable people like children and pregnant women are given drugs when we still don't know the long term effects of these drugs on children and the fetus. So please listen to the part of you that is ambiv...

I found a bottle of pills in my closet with no label on it and I am trying to identify them. They are small, oval and they have 422 scored on one side. ## Hello, Ruth! How are you? This tablet is listed as containing 20mgs of Paroxetine, the active ingredient in Paxil, which is an SSRI antidepressant that's used to treat depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
I suffer from anxiety and depression. It wasn't until I found myself sitting at a traffic light and wincing from the overwhelming feeling of sadness. I was well aware that I came from a high anxiety family and was certain I inherited that from my mother. What I didn't realize was how depression had slowly creeped into my life. I had no reason to feel depressed. I have a good job and wonderful family. No real money problems just the usual bills yet I had an overwelming feeling of sadness. I schedule a physical and went to see my doctor. During the physical he asked if I had anything to complain about medical or otherwise. So I told about the feeling at the traffic light and all the rest. He offered me lexapro after questioning me about a family history. He explained the there is ...

Updated in CymbaltaIt says on their website and several others that it is gluten free. However I experienced the same problem you did I would take it and get really sick like a sprue out break. They say they are gluten free but I am no longer taking my Citalopram 20mg ## It depends on who the manufacturer and since this is a generic, there are several different companies that make it. Are there any markings on the tablets you need information on? ## It is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals. I am gluten intolerant. Every time I take it I have elevated pulse rate just as I do when I accidentally have gluten. I'm trying to taper off and having withdrawal, don't like the idea of possibly gluttening myself.
Need some reassurance, please! I am a 27 year old guy and have quit Lexapro after only having been on it for 3 weeks or so. After my first ever panic attack experiences, I was given 10mg of Lexapro by my doctor. He also have me 0.5 of Klonopin (as needed) and a very low dose of a blood pressure med. I am off the BP med. Lexapro made me scared and made me feel just "not right". I always felt medicated. I came down to 0.5 Lexapro for a few days and then down to 0.25 for a few days after that. The doctor ended up saying "you can just stop taking it". Here we are now. This is my 5th day with no Lexapro and I feel pretty crappy. Woozy sometimes, head in the clouds, shallow breathing, and rapid heart rate. All of this is come and go, but I rarely feel good. Started a new job a...
Hi People, I see that there is a lot of confusion and anxiety out there about Lexapro (and SSRI's in general). So many questions. So many hopes and fears. I decided to share my experience so that maybe I can help someone searching for answers. Firstly, Lexapro effects will generally depend on why you are taking them. For me, I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder back in my early 20's. I'm 43 now. So I have lived with this for a looooong time. I never took an antidepressant for more than a month until I hit age 35. This is because I was an alcoholic in denial. A binge drinker. And you really can't mix antidepressants and booze. If you have a drinking problem then you need to address that before you can ever battle anxiety properly. I know how difficult it is to quit drinkin...

Is it safe and effective to take Celexa 20 if it ha been expired for 2 years? ## Hello, Colleeb! How are you? This medication degrades over time and thus loses effectiveness. It would be best to simply dispose of what you have left and see your doctor for a new prescription. This is an SSRI antidepressant and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Most all drugs are still quite effective even after 5 years. This to say maybe if the drugs were in airtight containers and a dry environment.
Trying to identify a round white tablet with the letters and numbers. The pill says ZC 18. ## Hello, Imsh99! How are you? A round, white tablet with the marking ZC18 contains 40mgs of Paroxetine, the active ingredient in Paxil. It is an SSRI antidepressant that's most commonly used to treat depression, anxiety and panic disorders. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it okay to cut this MU11 in half? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? No, this tablet contains 100mgs of Bupropion in a time released formulation, so cutting or breaking the tablet could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which might result in overdose. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon, thank you!! I should have known, but forgot about it being slow release. Thank you for the great and quick response, Jan ## You're very welcome, I'm glad I was able to help. Are there any other questions or concerns?
