Recently a few weeks back he's affected with epilepsy (fits) after nearly two years gap. As a common practice we have consulted the doctor and has make him to undergo all the test (ECG/EPG) etc tests. As a result the doctor whom we consulted has advised to stop using sodium valproate 400mg and replace it with Oxetol 300mg and assured this should take care of the issue. Now all im worried here is, with my dad being 58yrs old, will changing the medicine now have any kind of impact? Will he be safe? Please advise, im pretty worried about his health... Thanks Pr ## It is normal for someone's body to adjust to a medica...

Found this pill in my sons pack pack and I want to know what it is ## I haven't been able to find an exact listing for this, but the closest match I'm seeing is a white elliptical/oval shaped pill marked with 511 on one side and blank on the other (in black ink). There doesn't appear to be any yellow on either side, so I'm assuming that this probably isn't your pill. Hopefully this result can at least narrow down some of your options. Another person here on the site was looking for this same pill and was under the impression that it's probably something that's available over the counter. Have you tried asking your son where he got it from? ## I found this very big white pill while cleaning the garage. ( yeah a guy cleaning the garage) anyway it say: A 511 in ...
I have been taking Urbanol 10mg and Allergex (not sure of the mg) one tablet of each medication twise a day. I often feel like i am just going to drift off to sleep and have done so a few times whilst at work. I also do have trouble falling asleep at night but i have found it much easier to fall asleep after i have taken my medication. ## HI, Carla! How are you doing? The culprit is most likely the Urbanol, because it contains the active ingredient Clobazam, which is a benzodiazepine derivative. This class of medications is well known to cause drowsiness and they have actually been used as sleep aids for some people that were resistant to other therapies. It also has the potential to be habit forming. Learn more Urbanol details here. You should talk to your doctor about it, it may be ne...

I have diabetes and neuropathy with severe pain in my hands, feet, and legs. My doctor has prescribed Neurontin for me for the last 2 years and says it will take away the pain I am having. He has also prescribed hydrocodone for the pain. When I am out of hydrocodone the neurontin does not take away any of the pain I am having. But my doctor insists that it will. Should I keep taking it or should I stop. It seems like it does not do anything for me. Thank You Very Much DONALD BURKS ## Hi Domald Burks, how much do you take a day? Hi everyone. My 14 year old daughter has been on topamax (25 mg twice daily) for a number of years. She is being treated for anxiety, depression, mood disorder, tics, ADHD and has recently added social phobias to her list of complaints. The meds being used to treat her are Risperodone for the mood, Clonidine for the tics, Prozac for the depression/anxiety, and Topamax to control weight gain that occurs with Risperodone (and possibly to help with anxiety/tics). As she gets older, she seems to be retreating into herself even more. The anxiety is amping up, the depression too. She sleeps all day, and hasn't wanted to leave the house all summer. When I do manage to get her out of the house, the social anxiety is too much for her and she has severe meltdowns. Before she was put on all th...

I had a seizure when 13 years old and put on dilantin. Had 2 more seizures till I was 21 and no more. I am now 61 years old. So it has been 40 years and no seizures. Mayo clinic md said per eeg I can have a seizure if I don't take seizure meds (?). From there he weaned me off dilantin and put me vimpat. I have been fully on vimpat for 1.5 months. My walking is bad - due to my cerebellum, which is bad due to the dilantin. Since on vimpat my unnormal gait has changed with different unnormal attributes. I have recently acquired tinnitus.... I am a buzzing bee. Unsure if it's from the vimpat or other reasons. I am trying to see my gp and neurologist about this - but still waiting for some questions answered. I recently had transposition of ulnar nerve, about a month ago. I am in horrible, chronic pain. Neurontin does not seem to be working. My pain management dr mentioned Topamax. How do I deal with this constant nerve pain. It is in my left hand, little finger and ring finger. ## I am very sorry about what you're dealing with, nerve pain is terrible. What is your current dose of Neurontin? You might do better with the Topomax, if your doctor thinks you should try it. It does work well for many people. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, alopecia, anemia, and anorexia. Are you on any other medications?
