I am extremely dizzy, have a very unsteady gait, and am finding the activities of daily life becoming a challenge. I stopped Neurontin 5 days ago after taking it for 8 days. How long will it stay in my system? ## It really shouldn't take too much longer, since you weren't taking it for that long. However, are you certain these symptoms have been caused by the medication? Have they eased up at all since you stopped it? ## I feel light headed and dizzy too. I was driving in my town and felt like I did not know where I was for a second or two. It was scary. I don't like this feeling at all. I took 6 of them,,,Will these show a false positive on a hair drug test? I had a seizure. will drug keep me from having them ## Although Levetiracetam is an anticonvulsant medication used to treat epilepsy, everyone's reaction to this drug may be entirely different; whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how many they take. Unfortunately when it comes to prescription drugs, the only to find out is to try it for yourself and decide after a few days to a week or so if this drug is really right for you. You can learn more about it here: Levetiracetam Details Is this something your doctor recommended you take?

I am on this pill for migraines. The doctor said I'll be on it for the rest of my life. Is this going to be safe? I also get the "tinglings" in my toes, fingers and my face. ## Did you mean to say IG 279 as opposed to just 279? If so, I located the yellow pill to be Topiramate (50 mg). It is FDA approved for, and most frequently prescribed for, the prevention of migraines. It may also be used in treatment of fibromyalgia; if that's what you are referring to with the "tinglings" in your toes, fingers, and face? You can view a detailed description of the drug by clicking on the link below... As far as safety goes, there will always be a risk for experiencing side effects with any prescription drug. It is just your job to contact your doctor immediately if you exper...

I have been taking neurotin for 3 years. I take 800mg 3 times daily. I would like to know if shaking is a side effect. It started about 3 months ago. ## Hi Marlene, Interestingly enough, an "uncontrollable shaking of a part of your body" is listed as a side effect of Neurontin (Gabapentin). Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a694007.html#side-effects This medication seems to have some pretty strange side effects, so I would play it safe and talk to your doctor if it becomes too bothersome or severe. I hope this info helps!

i have been prescribed butalb-apap-caff 50-325-40 tab as part of an epilepsy seizure treatment. directions are take one tablet every 4 hrs as needed for pain but not more than 3 days in a row. can anyone explain the reason for taking not more than 3 days in a row? ## I can't speak for your doctor and their specific reasoning for it, but there are usually several reasons that these instructions may be included and I can inform you what some of those are. One reason would be the risk of it masking other serious symptoms, for instance, if you're taking so much of something to relieve pain that you're not realizing that your pain is getting a lot worse and requires another look by a medial professional. There are also other symptoms that may be masked, such as worsening seizures...

I have been prescribed Topamax for binge eating. This will be my third time taking it. Each time I go off of it I do so believing I can conquer my eating disorder myself; however, I have been unsuccessful in breaking the cycle. Topamax helps me calm my cravings and balance my moods. I have read that it is not as effective the more times one starts and stops the medication. I have only back on the medication a short two weeks and feel a very little difference; perhaps I am inpatient because I know what I did feel like prior to coming off of it. Is anyone aware of its effectiveness once stopped and readministered with regard to binging and weight loss? Thank you. ## Actually, the opposite is usually true, taking a break from a medication helps keep your body from growing tolerant to it, s...

if prescribed 600 mgs of gabapetin 3 times a day, is it ok to take all 3 at bedtime instead of during the day due to drowsiness? ## Hi rita, Depending on what you're taking it for, the usual adult dose is taken orally in 3 divided doses. If you do take it all at once (which you can), then I'd imagine you'd have to take more at some point in the day when it begins to wear off; thus making you take more than you are prescribed to take. Have you talked to your doctor about upping your dosage?

I have a bottle of 25MG Topamax that I take 3 pills (75MG) at bedtime for extreme headaches that make my skull bulge where the pain is. I noticed that the pills expired 3/22/2011 but I no longer have medical insurance. Are they still ok to take? ## Topamax isn't a medication that gets dangerous, per se, after the expiration date. But it does start to lose effectiveness, so it will not work as well as it did, when it was new. The effectiveness will also be affected by how it was stored. For instance, if it was stored in a dark, relatively cool, dry place, then it will degrade much slower than if it was store in a brightly lit, warm, damp area. Learn more Topamax details here. I know it isn't always financially possible, or practical, but as soon as you can, the best thing you can...

Hi. I'm Kelly. I had severe head injury 23 years ago; was in coma for a month and half and had 15% permanent disability. I've always gotten very confused pretty easily but it's gotten much worse. I'm supervisor at drug store and at end of night I am to calculate and record financial information. I took $6,000 back to office and totally forgot to count it. Just left it lying on desk scattered out and I don't remember doing it. Or not doing it. It kills me to think of the morning supervisor walking into office and finding all of that. That prompted me to make an appointment w/Neurologist. I've had these feelings of zoning out; it's weird and can't explain it. So, she put me on Keppra. It is absolutely horrible. I'm taking 1500 mg a day. I've been on...

I'm allergic to sulfa antibiotics and have been hesitant to start my new script- I just read some posts about it being common to be allergic to topamax with a sulfa allergy... Scared to try my new drug- ;) anxiety is why he prescribed it... Ugh ## I am really not sure how effective this would be at treating anxiety. Topamax contains the active ingredient Topiramate and it is an anticonvulsant, though it has also been used to treat migraines and bipolar disorder. Learn more Topamax details here. I haven't found anything mentioning it being common to be allergic to it, if you have a sulfa allergy. Additionally, a sulfa antibiotic allergy and other sulfa drugs aren't the same thing and being allergic to one doesn't necessarily mean you're allergic to the other. However,...

sealed neurontin shelf life ## The shelf-life should be mentioned on the label, as by law I believe it is mandatory. However based on my own research, shelf-life isn't always accurately depicted and could significantly vary depending on how the medication is stored. From what I could gather, it may be up to 2-5 years from the date of manufacture. I hope this info helps!
