can i use desval er 250 mg for life long AS IM SUFFERING FROM PAIN IN LEFT SIDE OF MY BODY AS I STOP USING THESE TABLETS ## Hi, Raju! I'm sorry to hear that. What are you taking them to treat? Is your doctor aware that you're taking them and you've tried to stop? These contain a time released formulation of Divalproex Sodium, it is used to treat various mental health issues. And since it works on brain chemicals, a sudden withdrawal of it could cause symptoms such as what you've experienced. These types of medications are usually slowly tapered to prevent the worst of the withdrawal/rebound effects. Learn more Desval ER details here.

This month I started Topamax as the first step in switching from oher seizure meds to one med for neg. weight loss and better liver counts. I progressed 25mg up by the week and have reached 50mg in mnring and at night. I feel my ADHD is off the charts, concentration is in the toilet, and I occasionally get the shakes where I feel weak. Are these common extremes common. I read the side efects and noticed them, but it seems like I'm struggling. And why weak and shaky occasionally?? Any ideas. My fingertips go cold even with potasium. Help !!!! ## Hi, Splits! Have you talked to your doctor? Where are you in the switching process? Have you stopped the old medication yet? My concern is that the shakes and feeling weak may be a type of seizure. You really do need to talk to your doctor to...

Not everyone experiences such a side effect, so there's no way to know if it will happen to you, or not, but the possibility is there. Normally, I'd tell someone not to worry about it, but given your psychological state and the fact that the gain h...

Its also used for weight loss. My physician gave them to me and in 9months I lost 90lbs ## The pill you're describing is identified as Topiramate 25 mg. Apparently it is mainly used to help control and prevent certain kinds of seizures, but also prevents migraine headaches in adults. I haven't found any indications for weight loss, although it does appear to be listed as a potential side effect of the medication itself. Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a697012.html#side-effects Did your doctor prescribe it to you for this specific purpose?

I was just dispensed some Gabapentin 300 mg that looks different from the previous generics I received. I am a little worried about a pharmacist's error. The capsules are dark yellow and imprinted 138 138. Does anyone recognize this? ## i have a pink pill with 93 and 39 is this gabapentin ## Yes, both of those contain 300mgs of Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also used to treat certain types of nerve pain and mood disorders. Learn more Gabapentin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. This is a generic, which means that your pharmacy may switch which one they carry, depending on what manufacturer was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply. After a couple of weeks on Neurontin, I started getting small red spots on my skin. Now I am getting larger spots, about a half inch in diameter. My skin is also getting darker with kind of a blue cast to it. Can't reach my doctor until Monday. Does anyone know how fast one can get off the drug without serious side effects? ## I too have red spots (splotches, really) on my arms after about a month on neurontin. Thanks, I really didn't know the cause. Also, it makes me terrifically fatigued. Now I am wondering if I should stay on, or go off. I take it for neuropathy in my hands, but so far, I see no improvement. ## Go to the ER ASAP. Some medications that cause rashes cause a condition called "Stevens-Johnson's". It's extremely dangerous. Go now! ## Stevens-Johnso...

I want to get off of neurotin I'm takig 300 mg 3x daily how long will it take? ## My father has been taking 300 mg of neurontin every morning for approximately 3 years for treatment of neuropathic pain in his feet. He was diagnosed with dementia at least two years ago and his confusion and psychosis has progressively worsened. A nurse friend of mine told me I should immediately take him off the drug since her pharmacist advised her to do the same with her father whose psychotic behavior became worse when he started neurontin. She reports a remarkable improvement after he was off the drug three days. Should I try this and what are the risks? ## For anyone still seeking this information, since this medication works on brain chemicals, because it is an anticonvulsant, it should be slow...

as soon as I got off double doses of gabapentin(300x6), I got nausea every day for weeks. I have acis reflux, so we thought it was that; could this be a reaction to total withdrawal? ## To answer your question, yes, that does sound like withdrawal symptoms to me; especially if you didn't take the time to taper off. There's actually another active thread on here discussing Gabapentin's withdrawal symptoms. Perhaps someone else's story may be of assistance to you: Discuss/gabapentin-withdrawals-217675.htm I hope this info helps!

i was told its a sleeping tablet but not sure would like to make sure before i take them ## Based on the description provided, I believe I found your pill to be Oxcarbazepine (300 mg). Manufacturer: Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. NOTE: This pill is regarding as being brown and not peach. However I haven't found a photo of the pill to verify how closely this color is to 'peach'. Often times light brown or tan colored pills are falsely depicted in descriptions. Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizing drug, used primarily in the treatment of epilepsy. It is also used to treat anxiety and mood disorders, and benign motor tics. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Oxcarbazepine Details Does this sound like a possibility?

Learn more Lamotrigine details here. What led you to believe it was a narcotic? ## It is definitely lamotrigine 200 mg. Used as anticonvulsant and to treat bi-polar disorder. That is a very high dose not to be recreationally. You can get a rash without building up to that dose. Starting dose is 25mg.

Any one suggest what to use for very bad sciatica taking gabapentin 900mg and paracetamol can u takevitamin c and any other vitamins with gabapentin x thanx ## Based on my research, Gabapentin does not list any drug interactions with food or drinks other than alcohol. So there shouldn't be any problems taking it along with some multivitamins. Vitamins and minerals however are in just about every type of food/drink that is on the planet, other than junk food. So if there was an interaction of some kind everyone on this drug wouldn't be able to eat; which would be quite unfortunate Lol. Regarding other treatment options, I've heard a lot of good things about "infrared light therapy" devices/treatments being used for this type of nerve pain. Perhaps that's something...

as soon as I got off double doses of gabapentin(300x6), I got nausea every day for weeks. I have acis reflux, so we thought it was that; could this be a reaction to total withdrawal? ## Yes, if you did a sudden withdrawal, rather than tapering the dose, or even if you tapered, but stopped at a dose that was a bit too high for what your body could handle, it's possible that it could have caused it. Learn more Gabapentin details here. Have things improved yet? With the acid reflux, it's quite easy for your gastric system to be upset and set off balance, so it could even have been a combination of both factors.
