One of the contraindications while taking Neurontin is using opiates such as Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and Oyxcodone (Percocet). The opiates potentiate the effect of Neurotin by 14%. With Morphine, it increases the effect of Neurotin by 44%. My husband was on Neurontin at 900 mg a day (taken in three doses). At that time, he was not taking much of his pain killer, Oxycodone (Percocet), maybe one 5mg dose a night. My husband was originally took Neurotin for shingles nerve pain. His doctor decided to increase his dose of Neurontin to 1800 mg per day (three equal doses). Before that time, my husband increased his Oxycodone to two 5mg tablets before bedtime and another 5mg tablet about four hours later. I have been taking Trileptal for about a year for TN. I have been experiencing joint pain more and more. My neurologist thinks this is not a side effect? Found a small round white pill. 1 side has a C. The other side has 123. ## Hi Ron, I located a small round beige pill with C on one side and 123 on the other. And part of me wonders whether your pill may be off-white or tan in color? For verification, the pill I'm describing is made by Cipla USA and reportedly contains 50mgs of Topiramate; an anticonvulsant drug used for epilepsy. Does this sound like a possibility?

I am on several prescription medications. I take topiramate 100mg, meloxicam 7.5 ,orphenadrine citrate 100mg, clonazepam 1mg, lamotrigine 100mg, Ibuprofen 800mg, hydrocodone 10mg, methocarbamol 500mg phenergan and I switch between Advil, aleve, tylenal,and the same day as the test took alcazelser flue and cold as well as cranberry pills and oh gosh and I can't remember the name of the pill but it's for a uti over the counter it turns your urine orange.i need to know if one or some of these can cause a THC test to come up positive. someone got mad at me and called child protection services and told them I was on Methamphetamine. Does anyone else take Vimpat along with Lamictal? I started having a severe side effect when I added Vimpat to help control my partial seizures. I would become extremely dizzy and it felt like my eyes were working independent of one another, like i was walking sideways. this effect made me have motion sickness so I would lay down with my eyes closed and it literally felt like a was spinning around and around and around, so that didnt help the nausea as you can imagine. this would last for about 2 hours, then slowly it would taper off till I felt normal again. When I mentioned it to my doctor, she said that there has any been any recorded interactions with the two medications. Hello Doctor, I m epileptic pateint from last 3 years, I had an history of seizure 9 years back when after regular dosage as provided by doctor i was declared fit, For normally working for 3 years after that i again started with seizures n now i m on a treatment again having Eptoin 300 (1 every Night) And levecon 300 twice ( Morning / Night). But over the periods of last few months i have noticed shaking of my hands while working / or sitting idle. Rest Body parts are okay But this Hand shaking ( Tremor - i guess wht it is called) is giving a lot of tension to me. I am working man n mostly staying out of india. Could you advice the reason for these seizures and Shaking of hands. I m married n planning for kids, will this problem of mine will give any harm to my childrens at later stage.

This was my first visit to a neuro.. I started Gabapentin on a friday night a week ago. 100MG 3xDay....I felt some relief the first night and the next day (albeit I had some wacky wacky side-effects at first)..... So I call the Dr.'s office and got a doctor who was covering and explained that I started Gabapentin the night before and wanted to increase the dose. The doc said that if I could handle the side-effects to go ahead. So, the next day I started taking 2x100mg capsles 3xDay... and this helped right away even more.. but in 7 days I feel no more improvement.. and a few days ago I asked the Doc who is my Doc if I can increase it further because it was helping but only 40-60% now.. I need to test clean in a week from oxcarbazepine and would like to know how long it takes to get out of your system? Also how does the drug work and what should I expect when taking it? ## This is an anticonvulsant that is most commonly used to treat epilepsy and some mood disorders. Why are you being tested for it? The only time such tests are usually done is to make sure someone's dosage amount is correct. My husband takes this twice a day, every day, and that is the only reason a test is ever done, to make sure he isn't building up too much of it in his body. The FDA does not list this as any type of controlled substance that is usually included on drug tests.

I am 38 year old man , I had seizures in jan 2011, after so meny consultation dignisis is neurocistycercosis , treatment start with tegrital 300mg , I have take this medicin for three years . After 3 years I have a seizures which was very strong again Docters keep me on the same medicin with high dose ( TEGRITAL 400) after that I feel some short seizures so Docters add LEVIPRIL 500 BD From then I am taking these 2 medicine till now and not fealing any short Seiziurs so when can I stop these medicinal ## You may not be able to stop them, you might require them for the rest of your life. Some people do and there is nothing wrong with that. Urbanol makes me sleep well and I tend to oversleep. I also feel some dizziness when I wake up. I wish that this med would not make me lazy and fat, as I am a busy woman at my home. I pray it will be beneficial to my health. Please advise. ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, along with the ones you have already described, the NIH warns that this one carries the risk of being habit forming, as well as nausea, headache, and irritability. Are you on any other medications? How much weight have you gained? How old are you? What has your doctor advised?

I've taken Gabapentin for 12 years increasing every time the pain worsened. In December my dose was 3600mg daily plus 600mg Lyrica. My trigeminal neuralgia pain was getting worse so i had brain surgery in December 2015. A week later on doctors instructions i eliminated one Gabapentin a week, then one Lyrica a week.. for the last three weeks i have been so nauseous i am miserable.. How long can this last? Is there any over the counter relief? ## After being on it for so many years, it may take over a month for all your withdrawal symptoms to go away. It is an oblong white pill that has a 1 and a 2 on it. ## Yes, there is a 600mg Gabapentin tablet that matches this description, it is manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals. They list its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My boyfriend is on depakota ER, and Vimpat. Previously he was on gabapentin, which stopped working. So Vimpat replaced that. The first week, he was to take all 3 meds to wean himself off the gabapentin. The following 2 weeks, he was to continue the Vimpat 50mg, and after that go up to 100mg. It was a SAVING GRACE, as he was having multiple seizures a week, and om the days he wasnt, he was still having the burning headaches and such that come with his seizures. Once he started Vimpat 50mg twice a day, all of that stopped. Even the headaches, and burning. It's only been 3 weeks but, it's done tremendously in this short time. I started on Gabapentin 6 days ago and I feel great. I have a new pm doc and he added this med to the other pain meds that I've been on for 6 years. Regained feeling in both feet that have nerve damage, and along with ms contin 30 my bid and 15 mg x 4 of oxycodone, my back and knees are not as painful as they usually are. I have 10 percent of my lower spine remaining from degeneration and both knees are bone on bone. Not only is the pain tolerable but my mental health seems to have improved drastically. I've read mostly horror stories about gabapentin, but I'm wondering if anyone else has a positive opinion about it.
