my cheek has been swollen for 4 day now and my tooth mouth is in pain I need to know if bactrim can be used for this purpose untill i can get to the dentist to pull my tooth ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Rather than taking left-overs from an old prescription, you need to see your dentist, now. To avoid the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, you need to be able to have enough to take a full course of the antibiotic, additionally, you need to be sure that an infection is present and that there isn't something else going on. Then, before the tooth can be pulled, the proper amount of antibiotic needs to be taken for several days, or there's a chance that the anesthetic won't work and you'll feel everything, when they pull it. I had that happen and trust me, it...

Was sick with sinus infection and a doc gave me a script for 3 (150) mg clindmycin caps 3 X a day. I am feeling better now and looking at the amount of pills I have left, it seems an extreme amount of pills. ## Even if you are feeling better, you should finish the antibiotic, as prescribed, to make sure that the infection is completely cleared up. Normally, they are given at the 3 a day dosage for between 10 to 14 days, depending on the dosage and just because you may be feeling better, there could still be remnants of the infection lingering in your body. Not finishing the prescribed amount could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and the infection returning and being more difficult to treat. I took one 500 mg capsule of Cephalexin for an ear infection, a couple of hours after taking it I had stomach cramps and very bad diarrhea, Im not taking anymore of this drug, I would rather deal with the ear ache. Has anybody else had this problem?? ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, according to the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, and non-allergic skin rash.... however, an infection that is left to continue raging out of control could be fatal, while the medication side effects will eventually go away, with time, once you finish your course of treatment. Alternatively, you could also speak to your doctor about trying a different antibiotic, if you find this one is making you too miserable. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change?

I am traveling in Peru and had really bad swelling on my gums at the back. I see a dentist and my wisdom tooth is growing at an angle. But due to my age an operation would mean resting for a few days and because I am on vacation they advised me to keep the wisdom tooth in and cut the tissue around it and clean it. I was also prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for the swollen gum caused by the wisdom tooth. They said the swelling and pain would go but I will have to take the tooth out soon. I have now taken 13 out of 15 antibiotics but still have some swelling and pain on the gums. I am worried the tooth is preventing the swelling to go down and maybe I should get the tooth removed sooner rather then later.

I am an adult woman who suffers from a bout of impetigo. If you don't know what impetigo is please look it up. I don't get it all the time. I'll get it about once every three years. But it lingers for months. And it spreads quickly. It usually starts at the corner of my nose and makes it way clockwise to my chin then back at the other corner. It's a horrible, scaly, puss filled rash. If u scratch it too bad you spread it. It's normally found in children. Maybe I carry a strain. I don't know. Anyway, I've been prescribed so many antibiotics and antibiotic ointments. None seem to work well. It seems like me leaving it alone works better for me. But this summer I got the darn rash again.
