I am 82 and had UTI from the 1st of April. By 16th April , not better, I needed to start on my third lot of Nitrofurantoin. That day I became very ill. My symptoms lasted three days and nights. Every joint was aching. My arm was as sore as if I had bumped it. I hadn't. It hurt to turn my eyes. I had trigeminal pains and my head was aching. I had a gum OP mid-November 2013 and was given Clindamycin 300mg for 5 days and anti-inflammatory tablets. My tongue turned black but no more symptoms. 16.12. 13 I had the next gum OP and was given the same medication. I had slight stomach problems on the 5th day and when I the course was finished, on the 6th day hell broke lose: diarrhea, stomach cramps, I felt very low in energy, slept a lot. Can Doxycycline be used to treat a middle ear infection? This is my second round of antibiotics. Was given Cefdinir first for 7 days & it helped but the infection is still hanging around. My daughter is 3 yrs old and has a bad ear infection. They actually had to scrape her ear canal down even around ear drum to be able to see behind it and they also gave her 200 mg of amoxicillin to take. She takes 8. 5 mls 2 times a day. What is the role and mechanism of antibiotics in treating dengue fever? ## All of sudden my whole family caught a viral fever after a short trip on a railway. Extreme tooth ache (infection) reoccurring of course. The only option to eliminate the pain and infection is a dentist. Of course I do not have that option right now. I haven't for a long time. Thus reoccurring tooth pain(infection). I have taken Clindamycin in the past for a tooth infection. But right now I only have the Sulfameth-Trimethoprim 800/160mg tabs. From what I have read it is not often prescribed for a tooth infection. But for a bacterial infection yes. So I am giving it a try. If it works I will update you. If it doesn't then it's a trip to the Emergency room for a numbing shot and a prescription for antibiotics that I might or might not be able to pay for. Tooth aches, abscess, or infection. I began taking this medication on Sunday by Monday my jaw line and neck were swollen soo bad.. Went back to ER because I became worried he said that the medicine was fine.. It is now day 4 and I am still so swollen on my jaw tooth still tender and my throat is so sore from the swelling and itching..
