I have used several antibiotics and drugs, even they cured, these are repeating and these are severely painful. Please suggest me a permanent treatment for this. ## Are you saying it involves the hair follicle? If that is the case, where it looks like a boil but is in the hair follicle, that's an ingrown hair, which isn't the same as a regular boil. Learn more ingrown hair details here. If that's what you're experiencing, there are some suggestions at the link I posted to help prevent it from occurring repeatedly. If this isn't what you're experiencing, please post back and I'll gladly find more infor...

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Maria, it can be prescribed to a child, but it should only be given to them if a doctor has stated that they need to take it. Is there anything I can help with?
I was bitten by a brown recluse spider on my big toe 5 years ago. It will not heal and doctors now don't know what else to do. I have been on antibiotic after antibiotic and many ornaments that I apply topically, but it continues to bleed and ooze infection. Once in awhile it will heal over but then it will bust open again and again. I am now getting other little blisters around it and up my leg. Does anyone have any suggestions on any other treatment that I can do? I do not want to lose my toe or my foot. But it is really bad. Dr tells me to stay off of it completely. I do as much as I can and continue to use the ointment they give, but it is not getting any better. Would appreciate any suggestions! ## The spider bite has also been lanced and debrided many times. It only helps for ...
My dr prescribed Purbac Ds 950 mg tabs, but the tab the chemist gave to me does not look like the correct tablet, as there is the word C24 engraved on the tab. Is this the right one or not? ## In my investigation, neither Purbac Adult, Purbac DS or Purbac Paediatric suspension are available in 950mg dosage forms. The manufacturer ("Pharmacare Limited") only lists 40mg/200mg; 80mg/400mg; 160mg/800mg - not to mention, 950mg would only represent one of the two active ingredients in Purbac (Trimethoprim/Sulphamethoxazole). To ensure that you received the appropriate medication, I would encourage you to contact the chemist where you got it from. Was your dosage custom made/tailored by your doctor to meet your own unique set of circumstances? I am also not finding any reliable data on...

Can anyone please give me the AE (american equivalent) number for "Zinnat" which is apparently the foreign name for "Ceftin" that was made by Glaxo Smith Kline? ## Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no such thing as an "American equivalent drug number" - at least to my knowledge. Are you referring to a National Drug Code (NDC)? If so, one would need to know more pill information such as the shape, color, imprint, etc., in order to begin a deeper investigation that would take into account both the active as well as the inactive ingredients for a closer comparison. NOTE: Ceftin contains the active ingredient Cefuroxime, an antibiotic which is available in America by prescription-only. I hope this helps! ## Hi David, according to my insurance compan...
I have doxy that was mixed on 5/14/2014 by my vet. Its only a little over 30 days old and I use it for the kittens that come from our local animal control. Most have some type of infection. I just rescued 6 who need the doxy, is it still good? ## Hello, Terrie! How are the little fur faces? This is an antibiotic, so it doesn't become dangerous after the expiration, but it does start to lose effectiveness and the problem with that is the risk of antibiotic resistance. I'd suggest double checking with your veterinarian, I'd think it should be safe, but since I'm not entirely familiar with the use of medications in animals, I'm reluctant to say definitively. Is there anything else I can help with? ## While I have not yet discovered the answer to your question, the previ...

I took INH 40 years ago for TB but I have noticed health problems that I think might be related to this drug ## Hi Tom, Just read your post. I took INH about 40 years ago, too, and am now experiencing some problems that i think are due to the drug. Did you ever find anything out about it? ## Hello Tom, Sorry to hear that you are experiencing some health complications. According to the National Institute of Health INH (Isoniazid) is a drug used to treat tuberculosis. They warn that severe and sometimes fatal hepatitis associated with isoniazid therapy has been reported and may occur or may develop even after many months of treatment. Here is a list of some other adverse effects reported to be caused by Isoniazid. - Peripheral Neuropathy - Convulsions - Toxic Encephalopathy - Optic Neurit...
I had puss leaking from the gums but the dentist did not drain it. He just extracted my bottom row wisdom tooth and gave me Amoxicillin 500 MG 4x. The tooth extraction was about $541, does that sound to high for one tooth? I used all the drug and it seemed to help but I relapsed. My inner cheeks are swollen and it seems to be slightly swollen along my jawline. I had that before taking any prescription so it's not an allergic reaction. Also around my mouth feels a little swollen. What should I do next? The second time I went to the Dentist he didn't prescribe me anything and said the swelling was okay. He never mentioned my inner cheek swelling even though you can't miss it. Should I try another dose of Amoxicillin or something else or maybe 2 antibiotics? I'm on the verg...

I’ve been taking Azithromycin for 5 days, for bronchitis, but it’s doing nothing for my cough. I’m up all night coughing. Can I take Mucinex daytime while taking this other medicine? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check such information. And I agree, bronchitis is annoying, that cough is horrible. I ended up in the ER once with it, a couple years ago, the medication I was given there didn't work, so I had to go to my PCP and take even more medications, before it finally cleared up. Azithromycin can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash, according to FDA reports. But, if there has been no improvement, at this point, you might need to try a different med...
I want to know if Ampiclox from Beecham is harmful to a six weeks and five days pregnancy? ## Hi Stella - According to the MHRA, Ampiclox is a combination of penicillin type antibiotics Ampicillin and Cloxacillin. Both are considered relatively safe during pregnancy (Ampicillin more so). As long as you are taking them under your doctor's supervision during the pregnancy you and your unborn child should be okay, especially if your doctor has decided to prescribe the medication knowing that you are pregnant. Hope this helps! ## I am 4 months pregnant and am experiencing vaginal dryness. Is it possible to regain my normal level of moisture? Am constantly dry. ## @Fortunate, check with your doctor, but that could be due to hormonal changes which accompany your pregnancy, and there may n...
I went to MedDirect early Monday morning crying I was in so much pain. I've had an abscessed tooth for a little over 6 months now, but financially we are barely making it paycheck to paycheck, so I haven't been able to get it pulled. They said it would be a couple hundred for just the x-ray, and $375 just to get that one tooth out. So, I couldn't get it done. I was crying Saturday and Sunday because of how bad it was, plus I also have scoliosis that I haven't been able to be seen for and I could barely move for three days prior to visit. I tell him my issues, he looks inside my mouth, prescribes me ibuprofen and was going to do penicillin, but Penicillin always makes me puke, Amoxicillin is fine though...which I told him, but he prescribes me Cefdinir 300mg, which was $9...
