Mucinex And Azithromycin

I’ve been taking Azithromycin for 5 days, for bronchitis, but it’s doing nothing for my cough. I’m up all night coughing. Can I take Mucinex daytime while taking this other medicine?

I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check such information.

And I agree, bronchitis is annoying, that cough is horrible. I ended up in the ER once with it, a couple years ago, the medication I was given there didn't work, so I had to go to my PCP and take even more medications, before it finally cleared up.

Azithromycin can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash, according to FDA reports. But, if there has been no improvement, at this point, you might need to try a different medication, as well, usually with an antibiotic there should be no worsening after the first full 24 hours of taking it, and you should start to see improvement within 3 full days of taking it.
