Does alcohol diminish the effectiveness of Amox Clav 875? ## Hi Rudy, According to a medical news article I read, "Drinking alcohol while taking these tablets does not usually cause any problems. However, some people who drink alcohol while taking antibiotics similar to amoxycillin and clavulanic acid have experienced adverse effects." Aside from the typical side effects, I would personally suggest taking it easy on the alcohol for the sole reason that alcohol can be hard on your liver. You want your body's immunity to be at full force when attacking the infection. My theory is if your body is working hard at metabolizing fatty foods, alcohol, or any other substances that aren't "clean", then it's not going to be nearly as efficient when it comes to fighting ...

Hi there I was prescribed this medication for a possible infection after cauterising of the cervix. I find I have a headache and sweating and feel generally unwell the discharge I had is gone and I was wondering would it be safe to come off this med I have taken fourteen of a twenty eight cap course I really feel unwell with them. i am taking 2 a day of 100mg doxycycl and in a week i will be in florida and would like to enjoy the beach for a couple hours a few days while im there, is that too much sun exposure if i normally don't burn hardly ever? ## How did your vacation go? When you are taking a medication like this, you are generally warned about sun exposure, because it can make you much more sun sensitive. I took bactrim generic to treat a vaginal labia cyst in late Oct, marsupialization surgery. The heavy duty bactrim seemingly got rid of the infection in that spot. That said, I suffered, for five weeks from acid poo and skin irritation down there, colitis syptoms like eat and then toilet time diarhea for five weeks. Plus, I got a painful diaper rash, and two yeast infections. Also, every time I shaved, even with a premium new razor - I got cuts on my thighs that filled with small amounts of pus. I added a daily vitamin, calcium and a probiotic to my diet which stopped the acid ass and #2 diarrhea. Ugh! 40 days since the cyst, I got another bad infection. Deep in left butt cheek. if i have sulfamethtrimeth left over from a couple of months ago can i useit again ## There are actually 2 problems with trying to do so. The first is that this is an antibiotic, so if this is just a leftover amount from treating a prior infection, then there may not be enough of it to finish a full course of treatment and eradicate the infection.
